Abstract

The functional response of predatory bird, Lanius sp. (Passeriformes: Laniidae) on migratory locust [Locusta migratoria manilensis (Orthoptera: Acrididae)] had been studied under restricted condition. The migratory locusts were reared in the green house. Second and fourth nymph instars along with adult stages of the migratory locust were used in this trial. Maximum feeding and functional response of the predatory bird against the migratory locust were determined. Research protocol used follows Holling’s model. Results showed that the maximum feeding of the predatory bird was very high i.e. against 2nd and 4th instars and adult of the locust were 2.75 preys/minute, 0.13 preys/minute, and 0.09 preys/minute; respectively. The relationship between predatory bird and migratory locust fitted with the Holling’ s type 2 functional response. The high feeding rate of the predatory bird revealed that the bird is a promising candidate of biological control agent on migratory locust.

Abstract

Effectiveness of entomopathogenic nematodes Steinernema spp. against mortality of larvae and pupae of Spodoptera exigua Hubner (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) was evaluated in the Laboratory of Nematology and Biological Control at the Faculty of Agriculture, Gadjah Mada University. The most virulent isolate of the nematode was selected amongst isolates from Solo, Jombang, and Medan. The effectiveness was determined by analising mortality of the S. exigua that was treated with Steinernema spp. at concentration rates of 0, 50, 100, 200, 400 infective juvenil (IJ) per 1.5 mL aquadest. Inoculation of the nematode was done by filter paper method. Results showed that all isolates were able to infect the third instar of S. exigua. Solo and Jombang isolates caused relative similar in mortalities ca. 98 and 94%, and significantly higher than Medan isolate ca. 86. Hence, the Solo isolate was preferred for efficacy against the insect larvae and pupae. The mortality of S. exigua due to the Steinernema spp. was influenced by the insect instars. The insect mortality-rates of L1, L2, and pupae were 13,3; 6.6 - 13,3; 23,3 - 60% and lower than those of L3, L4, and L5 ca. 41,6 - 75; 46,6 - 60; and 66,6 - 90%, respectively. The nematode concentration-rates did not influenced the mortality of L1, L2, L3, L4, and pupae but it significantly influenced the L5 mortality. The concentration rate of 200 IJ per 1.5 ml aquadest caused the highest mortality.

Abstract

Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara respons petani dengan upaya pengendalian penyakit blas (Pyricularia oryzae). Kajian dilaksanakan pada bulan Februari – Juli 2019 di Desa Sumberharjo, Kecamatan Prambanan, Kabupaten Sleman. Kajian bersifat deskriptif dengan teknik survei dan pengambilan sampel secara propotional random sampling pada petani yang pernah mengikuti kegiatan SL-PHT. Analisis data menggunakan korelasi Rank Spearman. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa respons petani pada komponen kognitif, afektif, dan konatif semua termasuk kategori tinggi, sedangkan upaya pengendalian termasuk kategori sedang. Hasil uji korelasi Rank Spearman untuk respons kognitif, afektif, dan konatif masing-masing sebesar 0,387, 0,333, dan 0,447 signifikan pada taraf kepercayaan 0,05 dan 0,01. Artinya bahwa petani sangat respons dengan upaya pengendalian penyakit blas tetapi belum maksimal dalam penerapannya. Upaya yang dilakukan agar penerapan blas pengendalian dilakukan secara optimal adalah dengan pemberdayaan petani dalam pencegahan munculnya penyakit salah satunya dengan pemupukan sesuai rekomendasi.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of ratoon derivatives of hybrid rice seeds (Mapan P-05) and Inbred rice seeds (Cemeti) at various spacings on the diversity of plant phenotypes. This research was carried out in Sumberharjo Prambanan Village, Sleman Yogyakarta. The method used was a factorial complete randomized block design with three replications, the first factor being the established variety P-05 (V1) the cemeti variety (V2), the second factor being the spacing between 20x20 cm, 25x25. cm, 30x30 cm. Parameters observed included plant height, number of productive tillers, panicle length, weight of dry grain harvested/clump, weight of dry grain stored per clump, weight of dry grain harvested/plot, weight of stored dry grain per plot, weight of 1000 grains of grain. Data analysis using ANOVA if it has a significant effect, then it is followed by a significant difference test (DMRT) with a level of 5%. The results showed that the treatment of varietal-derived ratoons had a significant effect on phenotypic diversity. Spacing treatment had no significant effect on phenotype diversity. The combination of varietal treatment and plant spacing had no significant effect on phenotype diversity, varietal treatment with plant spacing factor had no significant interaction with the combination of ratoon ratoon ratoon hybrid seed with a spacing of 30x30 cm.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the combination of treatment of ratoon derived from F1 rice seeds (Hybrid) of Mapan P-05 and ratoon derived from rice seeds (Inbred) whip with various spacings on the quality and quantity of which yield is the best and to know the interaction factors of ratoon derived from Mapan hybrid rice seeds. P-05 and whip inbred rice were the best in terms of yield quality and quantity. Held from December 2021 to June 2022. And planting of ratoons was carried out on November 14, 2021-March 31, 2022. This research was carried out in Sumberharjo Village, Prambanan District, Sleman Regency, Special Region of Yogyakarta. This study used a Completely Randomized Block Design (RAKL) factorial. The first factor is ratoon rice with two varieties and the second factor is the treatment of various spacings of 20x20;25x25;30x30 cm. Data analysis used ANOVA with a level of 5% and 1%, if it had a significant effect, it was followed by a significant difference test (DMRT) with a level of 5%. The results showed that the hybrid variety treatment always showed higher yield quality and quantity than the whip inbred with spacing treatment. 20x20 cm and followed by a spacing of 25x25 cm and 30x30 cm from the Inbred cemeti variety. The combination of hybrid varieties treatment with 20x20 cm spacing gave the heaviest results on the average weight of dry grain harvested per plot, weight of dry grain storage per plot, weight of 1000 grains of grain, weight of dry grain harvested.

Abstract

Pengembangan produk wedang stamina instan dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode Value Engineering untuk meningkatkan nilai produk melalui pengoptimalan fungsi dan pengurangan biaya tanpa mengurangi kualitas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi dan mengembangkan produk instan wedang stamina yang berkualitas tinggi dengan menggunakan pendekatan Value Engineering, serta memberikan kontribusi positif bagi industri makanan dan minuman di Indonesia. Hasil pengembangan menunjukkan peningkatan kualitas produk yang praktis, dan kaya manfaat untuk menjaga stamina dan vitalitas tubuh, sesuai dengan kebutuhan konsumen modern yang menginginkan minuman sehat yang mudah diakses dan efektif. Pendekatan Value Engineering juga mendorong inovasi dalam formulasi dan kemasan sehingga produk lebih menarik dan kompetitif. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan proses pengembangan produk wedang stamina instan menggunakan metode value engineering dilakukan dengan tahap informasi, tahap kreatif, tahap analisis, tahap pengembangan, dan tahap rekomendasi. Penelitian ini menghasilkan lima alternatif pengembangan produk wedang stamina instan dengan skor tertinggi. Masing-masing alternatif berbeda pada formulasi seduhan, desain kemasan dan jenis kemasan. Alternatif terbaik yang diperoleh yaitu alternatif 2 dengan formulasi seduhan 2, desain kemasan 2, dengan jenis kemasan box. Rasio nilai tambah dan keuntungan wedang stamina instan dengan metode Value Engineering tergolong tinggi sebesar 100%.

Abstract

Mina padi is a rice-fish farming an agricultural innovation that integrates rice and fish cultivation on a single plot of land with the aim of increasing land productivity and water resource efficiency. Mina padi is a form of agricultural innovation that prioritizes environmental sustainability in water management, minimizes the use of chemical pesticides and fertilizers, reduces pests, and provides double benefits for farmers. This study aims to determine: the sustainability of mina padi from economic, social, and environmental aspects; analyze internal and external factors in mina padi; and design sustainability strategies for mina padi. The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative to describe the research results in greater depth. There are 13 informants in this study. The results of the study indicate that mina padi provides significant economic benefits, with an R/C Ratio of 1.24, meaning that every Rp 1 spent generates Rp 1.24 in revenue, making it worthwhile to pursue. Strategies that can be implemented for the sustainability of mina padi include: 1) increasing farmers' motivation to improve mina padi production through land intensification, such as the use of liquid organic fertilizer, adding natural feed, using high-quality seeds, and proper land preparation; 2) establishing partnerships with local restaurants and markets for sustainable absorption of harvests, 3) developing agrotourism with the support

Abstract

Indonesia adalah tumbuhan biofarmaka. Bunga rosela merupakan salah satu jenis tumbuhan biofarmaka yang dapat diolah menjadi minuman fungsional. Banyak Perusahaan yang telah menjadikan bunga rosela sebagai bahan baku produknya. Salah satunya adalah CV X di Kabupaten Magelang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat kelayakan pada inovasi produk minuman fungsional bunga rosela di CV X. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kuantitatif. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Oktober 2024 sampai bulan Juni 2025. Pemilihan tempat penelitian ditentukan dengan purposive sampling. Jenis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah data primer dan data sekunder sebagai data pendukung. Hasil analisis total biaya produksi minuman fungsional bunga rosela adalah Rp109.614.500 dan didapatkan HPP produk sebesar Rp3.513,29/unit dengan HJP sebesar Rp4.918,60 yang dibulatkan menjadi Rp5.000. Dari usaha produksi dan penjualan produk minuman fungsional bunga rosela, perusahaan bisa mendapatkan total penerimaan sebesar Rp156.000.000 dengan keuntungan Rp46.385.500. Hasil analisis kelayakan finansial yaitu pada BEP Unit didapatkan sebesar 82,4 atau 83 pcs, BEP Harga sebesar Rp408.333,33 serta analisis R/C Ratio mendapatkan nilai 1,42. R/C mendapatkan nilai lebih dari 1, yang artinya bahwa usaha produksi dikatakan menguntungkan dan layak untuk dijalankan.

Abstract

The use of Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria (PGPR) as a biofertilizer is an alternative fertilization method that can enhance soil fertility and reduce environmental pollution caused by excessive use of chemical fertilizers. This study aims to analyze the influence of age (X1), education level (X2), farming experience (X3), the role of agricultural extension workers (X4), and the role of farmer groups (X5) on the adoption level of PGPR (awareness, interest, evaluation, trial, adoption). The research was conducted in Tirtomartani Village, Kalasan, Sleman, Yogyakarta Special Region, from November 2024 to April 2025, using a quantitative approach through a survey method with questionnaires administered to 38 respondents. The analysis results showed that all independent variables (X) simultaneously had a significant effect on the adoption level of PGPR. However, partially, only the role of farmer groups had a significant influence. Therefore, empowering farmer groups is essential, particularly in raising farmers’ awareness through training on the production and application of PGPR, as an effort to improve their knowledge, attitudes, and skills in using biofertilizers.   Keywords: Adoption Rate, Rice Farmer, PGPR.

Abstract

Petani di Kalurahan Srimartani menerapkan budidaya pertanian dengan menggunakan pupuk kimia secara terus menerus yang mengakibatkan penurunan kualitas tanah. Petani belum mampu membuat pupuk organik karena keterbatasan pengetahuan sehingga mengakibatkan tingginya biaya pemupukan. Maka dari itu, perlu adanya penyuluhan pembuatan pupuk organik agar petani mampu mengadopsi hasil dari penyuluhan untuk diterapkan pada kegiatan budidayanya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peningkatan pengetahuan, sikap, dan keterampilan petani. Metode yang digunakan adalah eksperimen. Pelaksanaan penyuluhan menggunakan pendekatan ceramah, diskusi, dan praktik langsung. Peserta penyuluhan berjumlah 20 petani. Evaluasi tingkat ketercapaian keberhasilan penyuluhan dilakukan dengan pemberian kuesioner pre-test dan post- test dan diolah menggunakan model evaluasi Kirkpatrick. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Level 1 atau reaksi dari peserta menunjukkan nilai 31,3 artinya peserta merasa puas dengan persiapan yang dilakukan oleh narasumber. Evaluasi level 2 adalah pembelajaran yang diukur dengan pre-test dan post-test, menunjukan peningkatan pengetahuan sebesar 23%; sikap 7%; dan keterampilan 86%. Efektivitas Penyuluhan (EP) dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan adalah 24% (kategori kurang efektif), sikap 9% (kategori kurang efektif), dan keterampilan (pupuk) 90% (kategori efektif). Efektivitas perubahan perilaku pengetahuan adalah 58% (kategori cukup efektif), sikap 50% (kategori cukup efektif), dan keterampilan 90% (kategori efektif). Tahap evaluasi level 3 dilakukan dengan pengukuran perubahan perilaku peserta setelah mengikuti kegiatan penyuluhan yang dinilai dari keterampilan peserta penyuluhan dalam membuat POC. Pada tahap evaluasi level 3 terdapat 3 kelompok yang berhasil dan 1 kelompok gagal melakukan fermentasi.
