Abstract

This research analyzes political communication in voter participation during the 2020 simultaneous regional head elections in Bangli Regency amidst the Covid-19 pandemic. It examines forms of political communication, underlying ideology, and implications. Using a qualitative approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews and document studies, applying theories such as persuasive communication, critical hegemony, social practice, and power-knowledge relations. Findings indicate that online political communication during the pandemic facilitated interaction between election actors and voters but had drawbacks. Issues included limited election information, outdated voter data, and inaccurate permanent voter lists. Additionally, budget constraints, insufficient personal protective equipment, and health protocol violations were significant challenges. The ideology behind political communication was the hegemony of community figures, political elites, and successful teams over voters, resulting in power-knowledge relations and transactional political practices. Elderly and disabled voters in mountainous areas were particularly marginalized. Practical findings show that online political communication limited voter references, reducing freedom in choosing candidates. Theoretical findings indicate that online political communication disrupts social interaction during Covid-19, and hegemony theory is effectively applied in the Bangli community, which practices local culture. However, power- knowledge relation theory cannot be universally applied, as traditional figures dominate voters and the central executive board determines coalitions and candidate pairs. Abstract

The process of library collection development encompasses several crucial tasks, including identification, selection, acquisition, processing, and distribution of collections to the public. This study endeavors to develop a library collection procurement application focusing on two primary functionalities: selection and procurement. The system accommodates stakeholders, including publishers, librarian profiles, system masters, and other users, while adhering to specific user and system requirements. The design methodology employed in this study leverages the Unified Modeling Language (UML). The development process follows the waterfall method, encompassing stages such as requirements analysis, design, implementation, verification, and maintenance. The resulting application features an intuitive interface for collection procurement, incorporating essential components such as login mechanisms, a comprehensive book collection database, catalog data management, procurement selection tools, recommendation algorithms, catalog selection options, and access to selected catalog data. Employing the CodeIgniter (CI) framework, the system facilitates data filtration and selection processes based on publication year, price, and language criteria. Rigorous system testing, conducted through black box testing methods, confirms the functionality and reliability of the application. This research contributes to addressing the needs of libraries lacking robust collection procurement systems, offering a sophisticated solution to streamline and automate traditionally manual processes.

Abstract

The quarter-life crisis is not a new phenomenon in Indonesia, with many experiencing it without being familiar with the term. The quarter-life crisis is described as a state of instability, numerous choices, worries, and even despair experienced by individuals entering early adulthood (Robbins, 2001). This phase is typically encountered by individuals in their late teens to early twenties, including college students. The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences at Udayana University, located in the city center, is one of the faculties where students often work part-time jobs due to experiencing the quarter-life crisis. Using qualitative research methods, the author illustrates how this phase influences social and psychological aspects (both positively and negatively), leading students at Udayana's Faculty of Social and Political Sciences to choose part-time work as one of their alternatives. Through the Theory of Emerging Adulthood, one characteristic of this period is being self-focused, where young adults focus on themselves to make life choices, reducing their dependence on parents or others.
