Abstract

This Community Service Program (PKM) is implemented based on a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) between the Agrotechnology Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, Madura Islamic University and East Pademawu Village. The coaching program carried out is related to landscape learning materials. The purpose of providing landscape design materials for East Pademawu BUMDes is to improve landscape design insight and skills, to optimize the function and beauty and role of local village education parks so that they can support BUMDes administrators towards independent villages. Service activities in the form of providing materials and training followed by distributing questionnaires (based on a Likert scale whose score has been determined) to measure the level of achievement of socialization and training carried out. The location for the design is the backyard of the East Pademawu Village Hall office. The results of the participants' assessment of the benefits of the training through observation sheets showed an increase in the benefits, soft skills of BUMDes participants and the quality of local village facilities and infrastructure with a percentage of 83%. Participants showed enthusiasm and activity in the good category and agreed on the educational park landscape plan that had been optimally designed on village land. However, for mastery of material, creativity and conveying ideas, participants fall into the sufficient category so that there is a need for guidance and retraining which is based on the approval of cooperation between partner members and the garden landscape design team of the Madura Islamic University so that periodic guidance for BUMDes can still be carried out. The shortcoming that still needs to be considered for participants is a sense of design which can be overcome and minimized by broadening their horizons and actively joining the landscape design community.

Abstract

Gouramy seeds are very susceptible to changes in water quality and are easily stressed, the solution is to provide shelter as a place for gouramy fish to take shelter. This study aims to determine the effect of providing shelter on the survival rate of gouramy (Oshpronemus gouramy) fry. The method used in this study was an experimental method with a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 4 treatments and 3 replications. The treatments were control, the number of shelters 10 units, 20 units and 30 units. The survival rate data were analyzed using a regression test and continued with a correlation test. Based on the results of the study, the treatment with the highest survival rate was 20 units (99,09%), then 30 units (98,63%), 10 units (98,63%) and the lowest survival rate was control (94,44%). The results of the analysis of variance showed that the provision of shelter had a significant effect on the survival rate of gouramy fry (α= 0,05).

Abstract

ABSTRAK Ikan petek (Leiognathus equula) merupakan ikan demersal yang dapat hidup di muara sungai maupun laguna pada kedalaman 10 meter sampai 60 meter. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan tipe pola pertumbuhan ikan petek berdasarkan hubungan panjang bobotnya serta menganalisis kebugaran ikan petek. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan pada 24 Juni 2023, 23 Juli 2023, serta 19 Agustus 2023 menggunakan jaring rampus dengan panjang 36.576 meter, lebar 6.4008 meter, dan ukuran mata jaring yaitu 1 inci dan 2 inci. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hubungan panjang bobot ikan petek yang didapatkan memiliki nilai b kurang dari 3 (2.3907) sehingga dapat dikatakan pola pertumbuhannya alometrik negatif (pertumbuhan panjang lebih cepat daripada pertumbuhan bobotnya). Hasil faktor kondisi yang didapatkan pada penelitian ini memiliki kisaran antara 0.7554 - 1.2153 dengan rata-rata 1.0082 + 0.1272 yang menandakan bahwa ikan petek pada penelitian ini memiliki bentuk tubuh agak montok.

Abstract

Bottom trawl adalah metode penangkapan ikan yang melibatkan penggunaan jaring besar yang ditarik di dasar laut oleh kapal penangkap ikan. Jaring tersebut memiliki bobot di bagian bawahnya untuk menjaganya tetap menempel pada dasar laut saat ditarik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis komposisi hasil tangkapan, alat tangkap mini bootom trawl di perairan laut selatan Sumenep. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Januari sampai April 2023 di Desa Aengdake Kecamatan Bluto, Kabupaten Sumenep. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode survei, untuk kepentingan pengumpulan data primer maka dilakukan observasi langsung ke lapangan mengikuti operasi penangkapan bersama nelayan dengan menggunakan alat tangkap pukat udang. Berdasarkan hasil tangkapan selama penelitian dengan 6 kali hauling yaitu jumlah hasil tangkapan utama udang jerbung (Penaeus merguiensis) dengan berat total 57 kg (28%). Jumlah hasil tangkapan sampingan yang bernilai ekonomis tinggi sebanyak 4 spesies dengan berat total 47,5 kg (23,3%) didominasi oleh ikan kurisi (Nemipterus japonicus) sebesar 30,6 kg. Sedangkan untuk jumlah hasil tangkapan sampingan yang bernilai ekonomis rendah terdapat sebanyak 10 spesies dengan berat total 83,7 kg (41,1%) didominasi oleh Apogon ceramensis dengan berat total 7,9 kg, serta jumlah tangkapan sampingan dibuang (discard) sebanyak 15,5 kg (7,6%).

Abstract

Mangrove planting on the coast of Camplong, Sampang, is part of an environmental conservation effort carried out by the local community with support from academics and the regional government. This community service activity aims to identify the factors influencing the success of the mangrove planting program and its impacts on coastal ecosystems and the local community. The methods used include field surveys, interviews with relevant stakeholders, and secondary data analysis. The results of the program indicate that factors such as selecting the appropriate mangrove species, active community involvement in maintenance, and policy support from the government significantly influence the success of this program. Observed positive impacts include increased biodiversity, protection against coastal erosion, and enhanced environmental awareness and economic well-being of the local community. However, challenges such as funding limitations and the impacts of climate change require sustainable adaptive strategies for future mangrove management. This community service initiative makes an important contribution to advancing the understanding of the significance of mangrove planting as an effort to preserve coastal areas in Indonesia

Abstract

Microplastics, which originate from a variety of sources and are widespread in aquatic ecosystems, have a significant capacity to adsorb heavy metals through a variety of physicochemical mechanisms, including electrostatic interactions, complex formation, ion exchange, and surface precipitation. A systematic review was used in this study of 50 published articles on the interactions of microplastics and heavy metals on aquatic organisms. The characteristics of microplastics (size, shape, type of polymer) and environmental conditions (pH, salinity, dissolved organic matter) greatly influence the adsorption efficiency and behavior of microplastics in the aquatic environment. Once inside the organism through direct consumption, gills, cuticle penetration, or cellular translocation, microplastics can release adsorbed heavy metals, creating effects that increase the bioavailability and toxicity of the metal. Biological responses that occur include oxidative stress, DNA damage, disruption of the antioxidant defense system, histopathological changes in tissues and organs, growth and reproductive disorders, and behavioral changes. At the population and ecosystem level, microplastic-heavy metal interactions can lead to shifts in community composition, disruption of food webs, changes in biogeochemical cycles, and degradation of ecosystem services.

Abstract

Ikan layang merupakan ikan pelagis kecil di Laut Jawa yang bernilai ekonomis. Jenis ikan layang (Decapterus sp) yang didaratkan di PPN Pekalongan terdiri dari Decapterus russelli (Rupell,1928) dan Decapterus macrosoma (Bleeker,1851). Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mendeskripsikan karakteristik morfometrik dan meristik pada ikan layang (Decapterus macrosoma) yang didaratkan di Pelabuhan Perikanan. Data diambil pada bulan Juli 2024 dengan metode kuantitatif deskriptif. Sebanyak 30 ikan yang tertangkap terdiri dari 16 ikan Jantan dan 14 ikan betina. Karakter yang diukur pada penelitian ini yaitu 13 karakter morfometrik dan 6 karakter meristik. Rata-rata ukuran panjang ikan yang tertangkap berkisar antara 18,914-19,268 cm. Terdapat 7 karakter morfometrik ikan layang (Decapterus macrosoma) jantan yang lebih besar daripada betina yaitu pada TL, SL, HL, PelFH, AFH, AFL, dan ED. Karakter meristik ikan layang jantan lebih besar pada 5 karakter yaitu DFS1, DFSR2, SLL, AFS, dan PelFS. Berdasarkan hasil Uji-t tidak adanya perbedaan yang signifikan antara karakter morfometrik dan meristik pada ikan jantan dan betina.

Abstract

The problem of Poklahsar Sekar Taji is the low added value of fishery products produced and unused fish waste, which hampers the potential of fisheries in the South Candi Hamlet area, Polagan Village, Galis District, Pamekasan Regency. The purpose of this service activity is to empower Poklahsar Sekar Taji through training on fish diversification processing based on Zero waste, including the processing of fish bone meal and fish bone crackers. The implementation method is socialization, training and evaluation of post-training activities. The result of this service activity is to be able to improve the knowledge and skills of partners in processing fish bone meal and fish bone crackers. The increase in knowledge and skills can be seen in the Pre Test and Post Test scores where 74% there is an increase in the knowledge and skills of partners related to Zero Waste-based fisheries diversification processing. This activity succeeded in increasing the processing capacity of value-added and environmentally friendly fishery products, as well as having a positive impact on local economic and environmental welfare.

Abstract

Pondok pesantren (PP) Hidayatun Najah untuk memenuhi kebutuhan air bersih diperoleh dari air sungai yang berada di sekitar pondok pesantren. Namun, upaya ini masih belum mampu untuk memenuhi kebutuhan air bersih tersebut serta santri belum mengetahui dampak penggunaan air serta lingkungan yang kotor bagi kesehatan. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pelatihan dan edukasi tentang pentingnya air bersih untuk kesehatan. Kegiatan ini juga memberikan pemahaman dan penggunaan teknologi pemurnian air, kegiatan pengabdian ini akan fokus pada introduksi dan penerapan sistem filtrasi pasir lambat. Metode wawancara digunakan untuk menggali pemahaman dan tanggapan santri terhadap materi yang disampaikan. Pelatihan ini memberikan dampak positif yang signifikan, termasuk peningkatan kualitas air yang memenuhi standar baku mutu air minum, serta peningkatan pengetahuan dan kesadaran santri tentang pentingnya menjaga kebersihan air. kegiatan ini juga membangun struktur organisasi Kadarsih yang melibatkan santri dalam pengelolaan kebersihan lingkungan secara lebih sistematis dan berkelanjutan.
