Abstract

Students' difficulties in understanding mathematical concepts require innovative and interactivelearning media. This study aims to develop an E-Module assisted by Microsoft Mathematics on matrixmaterial for grade XI students at MAS Ulumul Qur’an Langsa using the ADDIE development model(Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The study involved 30 students,utilizing observation, tests, and questionnaires as research instruments. Media expert validation resultsshowed an initial score of 80.5%, increasing to 97% in the second stage, while material expert validationachieved 81.25% in the first stage and 92.3% in the second stage, indicating that the E-Module is highlyvalid and feasible for use. Teacher and student evaluations demonstrated high practicality andeffectiveness, with average scores of 87.8% from students and 95.1% from teachers. In conclusion, theMicrosoft Mathematics-assisted E-Module on matrix material is valid, practical, and effective to use asa learning medium on matrix material.

Abstract

This research was conducted at MIS Al-Ashriyah, Langsa City regarding the development of game-based Intelligent Adventure media with the ADDIE model on the theme of ecosystems. The background is the lack of enthusiasm for student learning in class because the learning media used are less varied. The purpose of this study was to determine the development of Intelligent Adventure media with the ADDIE model, the feasibility of the media, teacher responses, and student responses to the media being developed. This type of research is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE development model which consists of five stages, namely Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. Data collection techniques in this study were questionnaires. The results of the study show that the feasibility of the media can be seen from the validation results of the three experts. Material expert validation got 86% “Very Eligible”. Phase I media validation got 77.5% "Suitable" and phase II media validation got 86.2% "Very Feasible". Stage I language validation got 78% "Decent" and stage II language validation got 100% "Very Feasible".

Abstract

This study aims to explore high school students’ numeracy literacy skills in understanding statistical material through a descriptive qualitative approach. The research involved 25 tenth-grade students from SMA Negeri 2 Kejuruan Muda, selected purposively based on varying levels of numeracy proficiency. Data were collected using context-based diagnostic tests and semi-structured interviews, and analyzed through the stages of data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that only a small portion of students were able to accurately interpret numerical information and relate it to real-life contexts. Students with moderate proficiency tended to rely on procedural routines without deeper conceptual understanding, while those with low proficiency exhibited misconceptions in interpreting symbols and contextual meaning. These results highlight the need for more contextual and interactive teaching strategies to help students develop meaningful and relevant understanding of statistical concepts.   Keyword: Conceptual Understanding, Contextual Teaching Model, Mathematics, Numeracy Literacy, Statistics.

Abstract

Abstract This research aims to determine the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of using the Heyzine application in teaching circular equations to 11th-grade students in senior high school. The research method employed the Four-D (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate) development model developed by S. Thiagarajan, Dorothy Semmel, and Melvyn I. Semmel. Data collection involved documentation and questionnaires, while data analysis used a descriptive qualitative approach. The results showed that the e-module for mathematics instruction was deemed highly valid by experts and practitioners. The validity percentages of the e-module were as follows: 82.5% for subject matter experts with the criteria "very valid," 89% for media experts with the criteria "very valid," 85% for language experts with the criteria "very valid," and 82.75% for practitioners with the criteria "very valid." Thus, the overall validity averaged 84.81% with the criteria "very valid." The mathematics e-module on circular equations was also evaluated to meet usability aspects. Student responses to the e-module's usability across 13 assessment aspects averaged 87.53%, indicating that the e-module fulfilled usability requirements in practice. The use of the Heyzine application in teaching circular equations was proven effective, as there was an increase in student learning interest after using the module. The increase in student interest in learning mathematics reached 37.679%. Therefore, this e-module can be considered an effective alternative for improving the teaching of circular equations to 11th-grade students in senior high school. Keywords: E-Module, Heyzine

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merumuskan strategi pengembangan Program Studi Pendidikan Matematika IAIN Langsa berdasarkan kriteria penilaian pada Lembaga Akreditasi Mandiri Kependidikan (LAMDIK). Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah analisis SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats), dengan fokus pada 9 (sembilan) komponen Krieteria Akreditasi LAMDIK yang meliputi 1) Visi dan Tujuan Program Studi, 2) Tata Pamong-Tata Kelola dan kepemimpinan, 3) Mahasiswa, 4) Dosen dan tenaga Kependidikan, 5) Keuangan, Sarana dan Prasarana, 6) Pendidikan, 7) Penelitian, 8) Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat, serta 9) Luaran dan Capaian Tridharma. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara, analisis dokumen, dan observasi langsung. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa Program Studi Pendidikan Matematika IAIN Langsa memiliki sejumlah kekuatan, seperti dosen yang berkualifikasi baik dan inovasi dalam kurikulum berbasis teknologi. Namun, ditemukan pula beberapa kelemahan, seperti keterbatasan sarana laboratorium dan minimnya jumlah Penelitian dan PkM Dosen yang dananya bersumber dari Luar Negeri. Peluang untuk pengembangan meliputi dukungan kebijakan nasional terhadap pendidikan matematika dan kemitraan dengan institusi luar negeri, sementara ancaman meliputi persaingan antarlembaga dan perubahan kebijakan akreditasi. Berdasarkan temuan tersebut, disusun strategi pengembangan berupa peningkatan kapasitas dosen melalui pelatihan, penguatan jaringan kerjasama, optimalisasi penggunaan teknologi dalam pembelajaran, serta peningkatan kualitas penelitian dan pengabdian kepada masyarakat. Implementasi strategi ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan daya saing program studi dan memastikan tercapainya akreditasi unggul pada LAMDIK.

Abstract

In 2020, the learning process underwent a change, from face-to-face learning to BDR (Learning from Home) or known as Online Learning (In Network). This is because, due to a virus outbreak that has hit all countries including Indonesia, the government has issued a policy on WFH (Work from Home), which is a learning system that is carried out from home using mobile phones, the internet and supporting applications. The implementation of online learning, triggers various comments and objections that occur in the field, such as the lack of facilities, infrastructure, learning burden, finance and time. This study aims to determine the response of parents to online learning during Covid-19. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method, namely the research carried out focused on a particular case to be observed and analyzed carefully to completion. In this study, the methods used to analyze the data are data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. Abstract

The low level of students’ mathematical problem-solving abilities and the frequent use of conventional approaches in the learning process are the main reasons for conducting this study. This study aims to examine the implementation of a problem-based learning model supported by an e-module to improve mathematical problem-solving abilities on the topic of functions. This study applies a quantitative approach designed in a pre-experimental design with one pretest/posttest group. The research respondents were 25 grade VIII students at one of the public schools in Langsa District in the 2024/2025 academic year who were selected purposively. The instrument used in the data collection process was an essay test derived from the Polya problem-solving framework, which had previously been assessed for validity and reliability. This study analyzed the results of descriptive test data showing that the average pretest score of 62.52 increased to 74.04 in the posttest, so there was an increase of 11.52 points after the implementation of PBL learning assisted by e-modules. The pretest and posttest data had a significance value of 0.000 > 0.05 according to the Kolmogorov–Smirnov normality test, indicating that both were normally distributed and met the requirements for the paired sample t-test. Thus, the application of learning with the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by e-modules has been proven to improve students' mathematical problem-solving abilities in the main material of functions.

Abstract

Students’ conceptual understanding of mathematics, particularly linear equations, remains a challenge at SMP Negeri 1 Langsa. Preliminary observations show that students struggle to connect algebraic and graphical representations, leading learning to emphasize procedural calculations rather than conceptual understanding. Moreover, the digital learning media used are not yet adaptive or personalized, resulting in general feedback that does not address individual learning differences and misconceptions. This study aims to analyze how the integration of AI features in Desmos Activity can improve students’ conceptual understanding of straight-line equations. In this study, conceptual understanding is operationally defined as students’ ability to interpret, represent, and explain the relationships among slope (m), intercept (c), and the graphical form of linear equations, measured using a reflection rubric and misconception identification indicators. A qualitative intrinsic case study was conducted with 30 eighth-grade students and two mathematics teachers at SMP Negeri 1 Langsa. The intervention was carried out over four weeks consisting of eight class meetings, during which Desmos was integrated with an E-learning module equipped with an adaptive chatbot and a personalized exploration-path recommendation system. Data from observations, activity logs, and interviews show improved conceptual understanding, indicated by higher reflection scores (50%–80%) and increased module interaction, highlighting the effectiveness of AI-integrated Desmos Activity in supporting adaptive and personalized learning., thereby supporting the creation of adaptive mathematics learning environments at the junior high school level.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of implementing a Javanese culture-based e-module on similarity material in improving the mathematical numeracy literacy skills of students at SMP Negeri 1 Lima Puluh Pesisir. The study employed a quantitative approach using a pre-experimental one-group pretest–posttest design. The population consisted of all seventh-grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Lima Puluh Pesisir in the 2024/2025 academic year. The sample comprised 30 students from class VII-2 selected through systematic sampling. The research instrument was a mathematical numeracy literacy test developed based on similarity indicators and validated by experts, followed by validity and reliability testing. The data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics through a paired sample t-test. The results showed that the students’ mean scores increased from 59.53 in the pretest to 71.63 in the posttest, with an N-Gain value of 0.30, which falls into the moderate category. The paired sample t-test results indicated a statistically significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores (p 0.05). These findings indicate that the Javanese culture-based e-module is effective in improving students’ mathematical numeracy literacy skills on similarity material while simultaneously fostering local cultural values. This learning innovation aligns with the principles of the Merdeka Curriculum, which emphasizes contextual learning and culture-based character development.
