Abstract

This study aims to analyze the productive pedagogies of mathematics teachers at SMA Negeri 2 Makassar, focusing on four key dimensions: intellectual quality, connectedness, recognition of difference, and a supportive classroom environment. Two teachers were selected through purposive sampling, one certified and one uncertified. Data was collected through observation, interviews, and questionnaires and analyzed using data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing, with technique triangulation employed to ensure data validity. The findings indicate that both teachers demonstrated very high capabilities in the dimension of the supportive classroom environment. In the intellectual quality dimension, both were categorized as high. In the recognition of different dimensions, the certified teacher was in the very high category, while the uncertified teacher was classified as high. However, in the connectedness dimension, the accredited teacher demonstrated moderate capability, whereas the uncertified teacher was categorized as having high capability. These results suggest that both teachers implemented productive pedagogies, although their levels of achievement varied across different dimensions.

Abstract

The progress of a nation depends on the quality of its human resources. One of the efforts to improve and develop the quality of human resources (HR) is quality education. Education is a very important tool for human survival. One of the problems that has become a major issue is the lack of equitable distribution of education. Therefore, in response to various obstacles in the implementation of education in Indonesia, students in Real Work Lecture (KKN) activities as a form of community service create a work program with the theme of tutoring houses. The method of implementation in this tutoring house program uses a direct approach method, namely conducting learning outside of school hours. The teaching method used is by using a game system. The tutoring program has a very important role in helping the children of Jompie Village achieve academic success and overcome learning difficulties. the tutoring program can be an effective tool in helping students achieve their academic potential. This is important in preparing them for a successful and fulfilling future.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMP Negeri 23 Sinjai yang bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa yang berkemampuan awal tinggi, sedang dan rendah dalam menyelesaikan soal cerita pokok bahasan operasi hitung bentuk aljabar pada siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 23 Sinjai. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian deskriptif dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Instrumen yang digunakan yaitu tes kemampuan awal, tes kemampuan berpikir kreatif dan wawancara. Indikator berpikir kreatif yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kefasihan, fleksibilitas dan kebaruan. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari 1 siswa yang berkemampuan awal tinggi, 1 siswa yang berkemampuan awal sedang, dan 1 siswa yang berkemampuan awal rendah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) Subjek yang berkemampuan awal tinggi hanya mampu memenuhi 2 indikator berpikir kreatif yaitu kefasihan dan fleksibilitas, serta tidak mampu memenuhi indikator kebaruan. (2) Subjek yang berkemampuan awal sedang hanya mampu memenuhi 2 indikator berpikir kreatif yaitu kefasihan dan fleksibilitas, serta tidak mampu memenuhi indikator kebaruan. (3) Subjek yang berkemampuan awal rendah tidak mampu memenuhi semua indikator berpikir kreatif yaitu kefasihan, fleksibilitas dan kebaruan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif deskriptif-eksploratif yang bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pemberian scaffolding dalam menyelesaikan masalah matematika pada pembelajaran remedial siswa kelas X SMAN 4 parepare. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada semester ganjil tahun ajaran 2024/ 2025. Subjek dalam penelitian ini sebanyak tiga orang siswa yang terdiri dari masing-masing satu orang siswa dengan kemampuan aktual tinggi, sedang dan rendah. Instrumen utama dalam penelitian ini adalah peneliti sendiri dan instrument pendukung terdiri dari tes, pedoman observasi dan pedoman wawancara. Pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan triangulasi metode dengan mengamati hasil tes dan hasil wawancara. Teknik analisis data dalam penelitian ini ini meliputi kondensasi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini maka diperoleh (1) Soal nomor 1, siswa dengan kemampuan aktual tinggi dan sedang hanya mampu memahami informasi serta merancang strategi penyelesaian. Siswa dengan kemampuan aktual rendah belum terlihat langkah-langkah penyelesaian. Soal nomor 2, siswa dengan kemampuan aktual tinggi dan sedang mampu memahami informasi, merencanakan strategi penyelesaian, menyelesaikan soal, dan menarik kesimpulan dengan tepat. Siswa dengan kemampuan aktual rendah mampu menyelesaikan soal, tetapi mengalami kekeliruan dalam mengidentifikasi istilah. (2) Soal nomor 1, siswa dengan kemampuan aktual tinggi diberikan scaffolding reviewing, restructuring, dan developing conceptual thinking. Siswa dengan kemampuan aktual sedang diberikan scaffolding reviewing, explaining, restructuring, dan developing conceptual thinking. Siswa kemampuan aktual rendah diberikan scaffolding reviewing dan restructuring. Soal nomor 2, siswa dengan kemampuan tinggi dan sedang tidak memerlukan scaffolding, siswa dengan kemampuan rendah diberikan scaffolding reviewing dan developing conceptual thinking. (3) Soal nomor 1, siswa dengan kemampuan aktual tinggi dan sedang memiliki kemampuan potensial yaitu mampu memahami informasi, merancang strategi penyelesaian, melakukan perhitungan, serta menarik kesimpulan dengan tepat, sehingga dapat menyelesaikan soal secara benar. Siswa dengan kemampuan aktual rendah yaitu mampu memahami informasi dan menyusun persamaan dengan metode eliminasi, namun mengalami kesulitan dalam faktorisasi persamaan kuadrat sehingga tidak dapat menyelesaikan soal secara tuntas. Soal nomor 2, siswa dengan kemampuan aktual tinggi, sedang dan rendah memiliki kemampuan potensial yang sama, yaitu mampu memahami informasi, melakukan proses penyelesaian, serta menarik kesimpulan dengan tepat.

Abstract

This study investigates how opportunity to learn (OTL) in project-based mathematics education courses—Manipulative Learning Media (MLM) and Virtual Learning Media (VLM)—supports the development of a growth mindset among pre-service teachers. MLM is a compulsory course focusing on concrete instructional media, while VLM is elective and centers on digital tools. Both apply structured learning cycles involving media design, classroom implementation, revision, and reflection. Using a quantitative comparative approach, data were collected from 85 mathematics education students grouped by course enrollment. Growth mindset and OTL were measured using Likert-scale questionnaires and analyzed with descriptive statistics, t-tests, and Pearson correlation. Results showed that the MLM+VLM group reported slightly higher growth mindset scores (M = 3.54) than the MLM-only group (M = 3.47), though the difference was not significant (p = 0.483). However, OTL scores approached significance (p = 0.054), and a positive correlation was found between OTL and growth mindset (r = 0.642). These findings highlight the value of structured, project-based learning environments in enhancing students’ learning beliefs and instructional readiness.

Abstract

The advancement of digital technology offers significant opportunities to improve the quality of education, particularly in mathematics, which is often perceived as a difficult and tedious subject. One innovation that can be utilized is Augmented Reality (AR), which integrates virtual objects into real environments in real-time, making learning more engaging, interactive, and contextual. This community service activity was carried out in collaboration with the Mathematics Subject Teachers’ Forum (MGMP) of Maros Regency, aiming to enhance teachers’ competence in utilizing AR as a learning medium, to create a more enjoyable classroom atmosphere, and to provide alternative innovative teaching media. The implementation method consisted of three stages: socialization and introduction to AR, practice and learning simulation, and mentoring and evaluation. The results indicated an increase in teachers’ knowledge and skills in using AR, along with high enthusiasm when conducting AR-based mathematics learning simulations. Furthermore, the program was followed up with the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) between the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Negeri Makassar, and the Government of Maros Regency as a form of mutual commitment to support the implementation of AR in mathematics education at schools. Thus, this training has had a positive impact on improving the quality of teaching and students’ learning motivation, as well as serving as a strategic step in advancing educational innovation in the 21st century.

Abstract

This study  aimed to know the effectiveness of creative problem solving (CPS) based mathematics worksheet reviewed by reasoning ability of students’ elementary school. This study used experimental method with Randomized Subject Posttest Only Control Group Design. The samples of this study consisted of two classes namely experimental class (Creative Problem Solving based Mathematics Worksheet) and control class ( conventional method). The taking of sample was conducted by cluster random sampling. Technique of data collecting consisted of cognitive aspect using objective test method and affective aspect using questionnaire. Technique of data analysis applied descriptive and inferential analysis. The hypothesis test used t-test by requirement of normality test and homogeny. The result of study indicated that (1) learning by using creative problem solving (CPS) based mathematics worksheet was implemented well. (2) The implementation of creative problem solving (CPS) based mathematics worksheet was reviewed by aspects: (a) mean score of students’ reasoning was 87,12 categorized as a very good. The gain was 0,78. The students’ reasoning ability classically was 91,25% ≥85%. (b) students’ learning activity was categorized as a good. (c) responds were categorized as a positive. The result of hypothesis test on 0,05 significant using t-test indicated that learning of creative problem solving (CPS) based mathematics worksheet was effective to students’ reasoning of elementary school.
