Abstract

Salah satu kegiatan yang terdampak besar dari adanya Virus Corona adalah kegiatan pada bidang pendidikan. E-learning menjadi solusi yang tepat pada proses pembelajaran jarak jauh. Dalam proses pembelajaran, pendidik diharapkan untuk tidak melupakan penanaman nilai-nilai karakter pada siswa. Melalui aplikasi Google Classroom, guru tetap dapat memantau karakter siswa yang terbentuk. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui nilai-nilai karakter siswa kelas VIII SMPN 2 Jatiroto Wonogiri pada pembelajaran IPA menggunakan aplikasi Google Classroom di masa pandemi COVID-19. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskripstif kualitatif. Metode dalam penelitian ini berupa angket yang bersifat tertutup dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai-nilai karakter siswa kelas VIII SMPN 2 Jatiroto Wonogiri pada pembelajaran IPA menggunakan aplikasi Google Classroom di masa pandemi COVID-19 termasuk dalam kategori tinggi, pada aspek karakter kedisiplinan berada pada kategori sangat tinggi dengan persentase 82,14%, aspek karakter kemandirian berada pada kategori tinggi dengan persentase 75%, aspek karakter tanggung jawab berada pada kategori tinggi dengan persentase 74,12% dan aspek kejujuran pada kategori tinggi dengan persentase 73,70%.

Abstract

An educational institution carrying out educational activities cannot be separated from financing. Quality financing management will maintain the continuity of learning activities. This research aims to dig deeper into efforts to optimize financing management for Islamic boarding school-based schools in the Independent Curriculum era. The research location is at Asy-Syifa Sukoharjo Boarding School Junior High School, which is one of the boarding-based schools in Sukoharjo. With a qualitative descriptive research approach, research data was obtained through interviews, observation, and document review. The research results reveal that education financing management can be optimized. RAPBS implements a priority system created by analyzing previous RAPBS and audit team reports in more depth. Entrepreneurship programs are based on local potential and investment to prepare education funds. Effective and efficient use of funds with periodic audits and applying technology-based reporting. Evaluation of the use of funds as a whole (holistic) from stakeholders and the community increases the accuracy of the allocation of education funds in order to achieve the goals of providing education in the Independent Curriculum era.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the ethnoscience-based Project Based Learning (PjBL) learning model in improving student learning outcomes in Biology subjects at the high school level. The background of this study is based on the demands of 21st-century education that emphasizes the mastery of critical thinking skills, collaboration, creativity, and communication (4C), as well as the need for contextual learning that is relevant to local culture. The method used is quantitative descriptive with a pretest-posttest control group design. The sample consisted of two experimental classes and one control class from grade X students of the Tahfidz Program at SMA ABBS Surakarta. Data were collected through cognitive ability tests and analyzed using N-Gain scores and t-tests. The results showed that there was an increase in learning outcomes in the experimental group with an average N-Gain of 56.5507 % (moderate category), but the increase was not statistically significant compared to the control group. Nevertheless, the integration of ethnoscience in PjBL has been shown to have a positive impact on understanding scientific concepts and preserving local cultural values. Therefore, this model has the potential to be an innovative alternative in contextual and meaningful Biology learning.

Abstract

This study discusses analysis level of difficulty in the aspect of analytical thinking skills in science learning with the aim of providing insights on how students and educators can address these difficulties, ultimately contributing to a more effective science education system that fosters critical and analytical thinkers. By using the research methods The study used a quantitative methods using Rasch analysis and Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) to determine the level of difficulty of students' analytical thinking skills aspects. Based on the analysis, the aspects of "specifying (54%)" and "generalizing (55%)" were found to be the most difficult for students, while the aspects of "analizyng error (62%)", "matching (68)" and "classifying (73%)" were considered easier. These findings also indicate that students tend to struggle with identifying the logical consequences of information and in constructing generalizations or new principles.

Abstract

Typically, biology students pursue natural sciences. As the world becomes increasingly interconnected and reliant on digital technologies and platforms, it is essential to evaluate their technological preparedness. This study aims to validate a mapping instrument of the digital competence of pre-service Biology teachers in a leading private university in Indonesia. The analysis used the Rasch model to measure the validity and reliability of questionnaire instrument utilizing the Logit Value of Item (LVI). The Digital competency (Digcom) questionnaire contains 36 statements in the Indonesian language (Bahasa). This questionnaire aims to record respondents' answers to digital skills for preservice teachers. The statement is adapted from the digital competence area for EU citizens combined with the Digital Literacy guidelines of the Indonesian Ministry of Communication and Information. The result of the retranslation has been validated to remove the ambiguity of each item of the statement by English language experts. The pilot research was conducted on preservice teachers from different backgrounds (gender, department, and year of study) in a private University (n=261). The findings indicated that all the items were deemed acceptable as they met the criteria for the PTMEA-CORR range, MNSQ outfit, and ZSTD outfit. This study is among the few that have explored the digital competency framework of preservice teacher students in Indonesia, specifically in relation to the difficulty level of each competency area.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of a Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model integrated with Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT) in enhancing students’ analytical thinking skills in learning the digestive system. A quantitative approach was employed using a quasi-experimental research design. Specifically, the study adopted a non-equivalent control group design with purposive sampling, involving 28 students in the experimental class and 28 students in the control class. Data were collected through pretest and posttest assessments and were analyzed using an independent samples t-test. The results showed that the mean posttest score of the experimental class (84.82) was higher than that of the control class (71.43), with a significance value of p < 0.001, indicating a statistically significant difference between the two groups. These findings suggest that the integration of Problem-Based Learning (PBL) and Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT) is effective in improving students’ analytical thinking skills through culturally contextualized learning. This study contributes to the development of biology instruction grounded in local contexts, an area that remains relatively underexplored.

Abstract

ENLearning in the 21st century applies character skills, critical thinking, creativity, problem-solving, cooperation, community, and communication skills. Building the character we need is one of them through learning, where 21st-century learning integrates knowledge skills, literacy, attitudes, and skills and mastery of technology. This study aims to determine the value of the character of responsibility, creativity, and independence in students. The data collection technique used in this research is the triangulation technique. Questionnaire, observation, and interview methods were used in this study. In his research through the poster in Instagram learning method, the teacher provides students with an understanding of the discussion task to obtain work to build creative character values and responsibility. Experts' students' and teachers' responses validated data collection. The results of students' character values in learning biology with the help of the Instagram application were 72%, 68%, and 66% with good categories. The character value that gets the highest percentage is responsibility, and independence is the lowest character value aspect. IDPembelajaran pada abad ke-21 ini menerapkan keterampilan karakter, berpikir kritis, kreativitas, pemecahan masalah, kerjasama, kemasyarakata dan keterampilan komunikasi. Membangun karakter yang kita perlukan yaitu salah satunya melalui pembelajaran, dimana pembelajaran abad 21 ini merupakan suatu pengintegrasian antara kemampuan kecakapan pengetahuan, literasi, sikap dan keterampilan serta penguasaan teknologi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui nilai karakter tanggung jawab, kreatif, dan mandiri pada siswa.  Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu teknik triangulasi. Metode kuesioner, observasi, dan wawancara digunakan dalam penelitian ini. dalam penelitiannya melalui metode pembelajaran poster in instagram, guru memberikan pemahaman siswa untuk tugas diskusi dalam memperoleh karya dengan harapan dapat membangun nilai karakter kreatif dan tanggung jawab. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan validasi oleh pakar, tanggapan siswa dan guru. Hasil nilai karakter siswa pada pembelajaran biologi dengan berbantukan aplikasi instagrami sebesar 72%, 68%, dan 66% dengan kategori baik. Nilai karakter yang memperoleh persentase tertinggi adalah tanggung jawab dan aspek nilai karakter terendah adalah mandiri.
