Abstract

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the role of Islamic business ethics in the development of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). This study uses a mixed approach with a quantitative method in the form of a survey of MSMEs and a qualitative method in the form of an in-depth interview with MSME owners or managers. The results of the study show that Islamic business ethics have a positive and significant influence on the performance of MSMEs. The honesty dimension is the key factor that has the most influence on the performance of MSMEs. MSMEs that apply Islamic business ethics at a high level have better performance compared to MSMEs that apply Islamic business ethics at a low level. The implementation of Islamic business ethics in MSMEs still faces several challenges, such as lack of understanding, lack of resources, and unfair competition. This research provides implications for MSME actors, the government, Islamic financial institutions, and subsequent researchers.

Abstract

The rapid growth of Islamic banking today, accompanied by an increase in the number of Islamic banking customers, is an interesting phenomenon in the midst of a dual banking system. This study aims to determine and analyse the effect of Non Performing Financing (NPF) and Net Income (NI) on Financing at KB Islamic Banks from 2023 in the first quarter to 2025 in the fourth quarter. The data used is the financial report of KB Bank Syariah which has been published on the website www. Bank Syariah Indonesia.co.id. The method of analysis in this study is an associative method, with classical testing, and statistical analysis, namely multiple linear regression analysis. The variables of this study are Non Performing Financing (NPF) as variable X 1 and Net Income (NI) as variable X 2 and Financing as Y. The results of the analysis using the statistical t test with a significant (α) = 0.05 using the sig value from the SPSS output obtained the significance value of each independent variable Non Performing Financing (NPF) (0.00) and Net Income (NI) (0.655). The Total Asset variable alone has a partial influence on financing, while the Net Interest variable is far above the significance of 0.05 and this identifies that there is no partial influence on financing. The results of the analysis with the F test with a significance (α) = 0.05 obtained a significance of 0.000. This value is not greater than the significance value of 0.05 and this indicates that there is a significant relationship between Non Performing Financing (NPF) and Net Income (NI) on financing simultaneously.

Abstract

trengthening the creative economy within Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) is a strategic effort to promote students’ economic independence and institutional sustainability. Pesantren Mawaridussalam has considerable potential in developing student-based micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), yet these businesses have not been optimally managed, particularly in terms of business management, product innovation, and digital marketing. This community service program aimed to design and implement a mentoring model for student MSMEs through structured training, continuous assistance, and evaluation. The methods included needs assessment, entrepreneurship training, basic financial management guidance, branding enhancement, and optimization of digital marketing through social media and online marketplaces. The results indicate improved students’ understanding of business management, enhanced product packaging and brand identity, and expanded market reach, contributing to increased sales turnover. The mentoring model also fostered collaborative networks among students and pesantren management. Therefore, this model proves effective in strengthening a pesantren-based creative economy and supports the sustainable economic empowerment of students.

Abstract

Abstract

The government is taking steps in dealing with the threat from the Pandemic to save the nation's children. One of the steps taken is in the field of education by implementing online lectures for students in every university. Online learning activities and working from home for educators are changes that must be made by lecturers to continue teaching students. Distance education has the aim of improving the quality of education and the relevance of education as well as increasing equitable access and expansion of education. Distance education that is held with good quality assurance and in accordance with the needs of stakeholders is one of the mechanisms for expanding access to higher education. This study aims to determine the impact of student online lectures on the MSME community in Medan City (object of research for Micro and Small Entrepreneurs in East Medan District). Based on the results of the research conducted, it can be concluded that online learning applied to students must be carried out alternately by providing time lapses or changing times, meaning that online lectures are carried out by inserting face-to-face lectures, for example the first week face-to-face then the second week of lectures again online and and so on for the following week by always implementing health protocols and maintaining distance and dividing face-to-face time for 2 meetings each class in turn. The presence of campus students, although not entirely every week, will bring changes to the community of MSME actors who work around campus and depend on students as consumers who can mainly help their income, which during the Post-Pandemic period and PKKM greatly decreased, it will increase even though it is not optimal. With this change, the MSME community around the campus can maintain their business and avoid their business from experiencing a situation that is in danger of closing. Abstract

This study seeks to explore in depth the experiences of muzakki in paying zakat through digital platforms provided by LAZISMU Kota Medan, as well as to understand how they interpret this practice within their religious lives. A qualitative approach with a phenomenological method is employed to capture the subjective perspectives of the participants. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation involving muzakki who have used digital zakat services, and were analyzed through stages of data reduction, presentation, and interpretation to uncover essential meanings. The results reveal that accessibility, time saving features, and flexibility are key factors encouraging the adoption of digital zakat. Moreover, trust in the institution particularly in terms of transparency and accountability plays a significant role in shaping users’ sense of comfort. From a religious perspective, most participants believe that the use of technology does not lessen the spiritual value of zakat; instead, it helps them maintain consistency in fulfilling their obligations. Nevertheless, some differences in emotional experience remain when compared to conventional methods, especially regarding the sense of spiritual closeness. The study also shows that muzakki actively interpret and assign meaning to their digital experiences, which are influenced by technological aspects, trust, and religious values. The novelty of this research lies in its phenomenological approach, which brings together technological, psychological, and spiritual dimensions to better understand digital zakat practices. The findings suggest that the development of digital zakat services should not only focus on efficiency but also consider the emotional and spiritual needs of users.

The development of sharia-based entrepreneurship is important because it can foster students’ economic independence while instilling Islamic values in business activities. This study employed a library research method with a descriptive qualitative approach. The data were collected from various scientific sources, including national and international journal articles, books, and other scholarly publications related to Islamic entrepreneurship, santripreneurship, Islamic boarding school education, and business management. Furthermore, the training contributes to the formation of entrepreneurial characteristics such as discipline, responsibility, creativity, leadership, and teamwork skills. The implementation of structured and practice-oriented business management training encourages the emergence of independent, productive, and competitive santripreneurs. Therefore, the development of an Islamic entrepreneurial spirit through business management training can serve as an effective strategy for enhancing the quality of human resources in Islamic boarding schools and supporting sharia-based economic empowerment.

Abstract

The development of Islamic banking is marked not only by the expansion of financial services but also by the strengthening of Islamic values in service practices. This study is motivated by the gap between the ideal implementation of Sharia values and the actual performance of frontliners at BTPN Syariah, particularly concerning trustworthiness and Islamic ethics. The purpose of this research is to analyze the implementation of trust and ethical behavior in services and to evaluate their consistency in daily operational activities. This study employs a qualitative approach, using observation, interviews, and documentation, with validity ensured through triangulation. The findings indicate that trust is manifested through transparent information sharing, honesty in explaining products, and safeguarding customer confidentiality. Islamic ethics are evident in friendly, patient, and courteous interactions. However, challenges arise during peak hours, where information is often conveyed hurriedly. The novelty of this research lies in its focus on the spiritual and ethical dimensions of frontliner service, contrasting previous studies that primarily emphasized technical service aspects. The contribution of this study provides a strategic foundation for Islamic banks to strengthen an organizational culture grounded in Islamic values. Abstract

The rapid development of modern business in Indonesia has created both opportunities and challenges in implementing Sharia principles. As the country with the largest Muslim population in the world, Indonesia has witnessed significant growth in Islamic financial institutions, halal industries, and Sharia-based business practices. This study aims to analyze the implementation of Sharia principles in modern business management in Indonesia, identify the challenges faced by business actors, and examine the opportunities for strengthening Sharia compliance in contemporary business environments. This research employs a library study method by reviewing academic journals, books, government regulations, and previous research related to Sharia business management. The findings indicate that Sharia principles such as justice (adl), transparency, honesty, prohibition of riba, gharar, and maysir, as well as the application of Maqashid Sharia, play an important role in creating ethical and sustainable business practices. However, challenges such as limited Sharia literacy, competition with conventional businesses, and regulatory complexity remain obstacles to implementation. The study concludes that strengthening education, regulation, and technological innovation is necessary to improve Sharia compliance in modern business management.
