Abstract

An experiment was carried out to study to the role of urea lime mixture in concentrate containing cassava on the rumen fermentation of the etawah crossbred goat through in-vivo experiment. A randomized block design (RBD) consisted of 4 different rations and 4 replicates was used in this experiment. Atotal of 16 etawah crossbred goats with initial body weight ranging from 12.4 - 19 kg were aranged in to 16 pens experiment. Four feed treatments (A, B, C and D) were offered to four groups of four goats. The first treatment (A) was 50% elephant grass 50% concentrate (without cassava urea lime) as control diet, the second treatment (B) was 50% elephant grass 50% concentrate (without cassava, with 4% urea and 2% lime), the third treatment (C) was 50% elephant grass 50% concentrate (with 25% cassava, 4% urea and 2% lime), and fourth treatment (D) was 50% elephant grass 50% concentrate (with 50% cassava, 4% urea and 2% lime). Ration was composed based on standard requirement of 15 kg body weight goat with 75 g daily weight gain. Results of This study showed that the concentration of NH3, VFA, propionic acid, and protozoa rumen population on treatment A, B, C, and D were significantly different (p<0,05). It can be concluded that Utilization of 4% urea and 2% lime without cassava in concentrate increased N-NH3 level of rumen fluid, but level of N-NH3 rumen fluid on goat fed with 4% urea and 2% lime in concentrate contain 25 and 50% cassava was not increase, compared to thoset fed controled (treatment A). Propionic acid level and rumen protozoa population could be increased through urea lime and cassava addition in concentrate.

Abstract

The aim of this research was to observe the effect of giving difference levels concentrate on NNH3, VFA production and in vitro of dry matter and organic matter digestibility. Completely Randomized Design (CRD) was used in this study with four treatments and four replications, i.e. 75% concentrate + 25% forage (60% king grass + 40% glyricidia) (A); 60% concentrate + 40% forage (60% king grass + 40% glyricidia) (B); 45% concentrate + 55% forage (60% king grass + 40% glyricidia) (C); and 30% concentrate + 70% forage (60% king grass + 40% glyricidia) (D). The result of this study showed that the NNH3 concentration was highest in treatment A, which was 13.60 mM. VFA concentration was higher in treatment C, which was 118.40 mM. Dry matter digestibility and organic matter digestibility was higher in treatment A, which were 59.71 and 60.27%. It is concluded that the giving of concentrate with containing urea, lime and cassava from 30 to 75% has non-significant (P>0.05) effect on NNH3 and VFA level in every treatments. Giving higher level of concentrate will be increase dry matter and organic matter digestibility

Abstract

This study aimed to in-vivo analyze the level of rumen fermentation of Bali cattle fed fermented rations by 3 types of lignocellulolytic bacterial inoculants from the Bali cattle colon and organic waste produced by Mudita et al. (2015) namely: inoculants with code BS12K12; BS12K1; and BS1K12.The research held at The Research Station Education Farm, Bukit Jimbaran, Badung, Bali and Laboratory of Nutrition and Feed Animal, Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Udayana University in 3 (three) months, with 4 (four) total collection periods. The research has been done by The Latin Square Design, with 4 (four) treatment and 4 periode researching as replicated. The treatments were: RB0 = bali cattle fed ration fermented without bacteria innoculant (fermented molasses solution as control), RB1=bali cattle fed ration fermented bacteri innoculant BS12K12, RB2=bali cattle fed ration fermented bacteri innoculant BS12K1, and RB3=bali cattle fed ration fermented bacteri innoculant BS1K12. The observation variables on this research are: pH, protozoa population, totally VFA and partial such as acetic acid, propionic acid, and butiric acid, and N-NH3 on the rumen fluid. The result of this research shows that the bali cattle fed ration fermented by inocullant of bali cattle colon and organic waste lignocellulolytic bacteria had increased (P<0,05) the rumen metabolism rate of bali cattle, especially N-NH3, propionatic acid and totally VFA, without effecting the pH and population of protozoa on the bali cattle rumen liquid. Abstract

Pempatan village located at 600-1100 m altitude with annual rainfall average 2000-2500 mm and minimumtemperature 270C and maximum 360C. Generally, the basic livelihood of the Pempatan villagers is fromcattle livestock. Forage production in the dry season is very low and tend to shortage of forage, while in therainy season is excess of forage. The feeding only from fresh forage, where the existence of forage depend onthe season, so in the dry season generally shortage of forage and could decrease the cattle productivity. Basedon the problems it is necessary to explanation about technology of complete ration of silage to effort theshortage of feed in the dry season at Geliang, Pempatan Village. The community services activity attend by25 people, 16 people from the breeder, and the rest from the students. Based on the results of communityservices activity and interviews with the livestock groups found that Geliang Lestari group has potential todevelop, it could be seen from the seriousness of the participants to attend the community services and thefeed demonstrations with well understood and accepted. In this activity, was introduced complete rationsilage and demonstrated the offering for cattle. Based on the results of the community services activity, itcould be concluded that bali cattle is possible for developing in Geliang Lestari Sustainable Livestock Group.The development of the livestock population must be followed by supplies of feed through the processingand storage in complete ration silage.

Abstract

Pengabdian telah dilaksanakan di Desa Pekraman Sogra, Desa Sebudi Kecamatan Selat KabupatenKarangasem, bertujuan untuk memberikan pengetahuan baru dan keterampilan kepada petani peternaktentang cara melakukan pengawetan hijauan baik rumput maupun leguminosa melalui teknologi yang mudahdikerjakan. Teknologi pengawetan hijauan dapat dilakukan dengan berbagai metode seperti hay, silase, danamoniasi. Pengawetan dengan cara dibuat hay adalah dengan cara mengeringkanhijauan, baik secara alami(menggunakan sinar matahari) maupunmenggunakan mesin pengering (dryer). Silase berasal dari hijauanmakanan ternak atau limbah pertanian yang diawetkan dalam keadaan segarmelalui proses fermentasi dalamsilo. Sedangkanproses amoniasi dapat memutuskan ikatan kompleks lignoselulosa dan lignohemiselulosasehingga lebih mudah dicerna oleh mikroba rumen serta dapat meningkatkan kandungan nitrogen jeramiuntuk pertumbuhan mikroba rumen. Melalui teknologi pengawetan maka daya simpan hijauan lebih lama dankandungan nutrisi hijauan akan dapat dipertahankan. Metode pengabdian yang digunakan melalui dua carayaitu sosialisasi serta diskusi dan pelatihan singkat berbagai metode pengawetan. Petani peternak sangatantusias dengan materi yang diberikan terutama tentang pembuatan silase dengan teknologi sederhana danmudah diterapkan.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kesejahtraan masyarakat dalam pengembangan usaha peternakan kambing perah melalui penerapan teknologi formulasi ransum komplit dan pembuatan pupuk organik. Metode dalam pemberdayaan masyarakat dengan kegiatan ini adalah: (1) Kordinasi dan komunikasi dengan kelompok ternak kambing untuk merumuskan program mulai dari perencanaan, operasional dan evaluasi; (2) Penyuluhan untuk menyamakan persepsi dan pemahaman masyarakat mengenai program yang diterapkan; (3) Pelatihan mengenai terapan ipeks yang dialihkan kepada masyarakat; (4) Pendampingan secara berkala dan berkelanjutan dengan kelompok ternak hingga ipteks yang dialihkan dapat dilaksanakan secara mandiri. Teknologi yang akan digunakan untuk mengatasi permasalahan kelompok ternak kambing adalah teknologi formulasi pakan komplit berbahan baku kulit biji kopi, dan pembuatan pupuk organik. Hasil dari kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah kegiatan berjalan sesuai rencara dan dihadiri oleh peternak dari 3 kelompok ternak kambing di Desa Sanda. Peserta sangat antosias dan sangat senang pada saat mencoba memberikan pakan buatannya kepada ternaknya dan langsung dimakan. Dengan memanfaatkan kulit kopi sebagai bahan pakan komplit maka ternak kambing tidak akan kekurangan pakan terutama pada musim kering. Penggunaan kulit kopi sebagaia pakan ternak akan dapat meningkatkan populasi kambing di desa Sanda. Kata kunci : kambing, komlit feed, pupuk organik cair dan padat

Abstract

The community service was conducted in Jungutan Village, Karangasem Regency and was aimed to improvethe farmers knowlegde especially the members of farmers groups about the utilization of leguminose forage asbasal ration for ruminant. The services was conducted on Sunday, 2nd September 2012 at Wana Sari Groups ofFarmers at Banjar Untalan, Jungutan Village, and attended by 20 from 24 total members of farmers’ groups(83.33%). The methods used were direct instruction and discussion to the farmers. Almost 43% members offarmers’ groups have been given leguminose besides grass and 57% only given grass as Bali cattle feed. The resultof the services showed that the farmer’s awareness and knowlegde improved to give leguminose forage such asGliricidia sepium, Caliandra callothyrsus, and Leucaena leucochepala, besides grass feeding as basal ration forBali cattle. The utilization of forage need to be applied because of high energy and protein content in leguminoseforage, therefore the dry matter consumption will improve. The nutrient requirement could fulfill and will impactto the improvement of Bali cattle growth and production.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian dilaksanakan di kandang kelompok Simantri 256 Gapoktan Merta Sedana dihadiri oleh 23 orang dari anggota, petani peternak, dan petugas pendamping simantri. Kegiatan pengabdian didahului dengan kegiatan penyuluhan dan diskusi mengenai penerapan teknologi budidaya tanaman campuran rumput dan legum serta dilengkapi dengan pembuatan brosur. Pada akhir kegiatan dilakukan pembuatan demoplot tanaman campuran rumput dan legum yang digunakan sebagai contoh dalam pengembangan hijauan pakan ternak untuk anggota kelomok Simantri 256 dan petani peternak lainnya di Desa Kenderan. Peserta sangat antusias dengan informasi yang diberikan oleh tim pengabdi. Selama kegiatan penyuluhan sekaligus diisi dengan diskusi mengenai masalah-masalah yang dihadapi oleh petani peternak dalam pemeliharan sapi khususnya sapi bali. Banyak pertanyaan yang diajukan oleh petani peternak diantaranya tentang fungsi hijauan legum sebagai pakan sapi, bagaimana pemberian gamal pada sapi, dan penyebab sapi betina tidak mengalami kebuntingan. Pertanyaan yang diajukan oleh petani peternak dijelaskan oleh tim pengabdi sehingga petani mudah memahami penjelasan yang diberikan Model yang dikembangkan dalam pembuatan demoplot tanaman campuran rumput dan legum yaitu pertanaman campuran dengan pola rumput – rumput – legum (brachiaria - panikum - sentro atau brachiaria – panikum - clitoria). Simpulan yang dapat diambil adalah anggota Simantri 256 Gapoktan Merta Sedana sangat antusias dalam kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat melalui penyuluhan dan diskusi tentang sistem tanaman campuran rumput dan legum unggul yang dihadiri oleh 24 orang anggota Simantri 256 dan petani peternak lainnya, serta terbentuknya demoplot tanaman campuran rumput dan legum unggul sebagai contoh dalam pengembangan hijauan pakan ternak.

Abstract

The community service was conducted in Bebalang village, Bangli regency and aimed to improve the knowledge and innovation technology of farmers, about the using of rice straw as a feed and how to improve its quality. The quality of rice straw including nitrogen total and digestibility could be increased by ammoniated technology using urea. The use of urea was 4% for 100 kg of rice straw or 4 kg for 100 kg of rice straw. The activity was done on Monday, October 30, 2010 and attended by 24 farmers or 100% members of subak at Sedit area, Bangli. The methods used were direct instruction and practice to the farmers. The results of the activity showed that the farmers’ knowledge was improved and the farmers want to apply the ammoniated rice straw as alternative feed for ruminant.

Abstract

The community service was conducted in the cattle farmers groups “Tribuana” in Tri Eka Buana Village, Sidemen Distrik, Karangasem Regency and was aimed to improve the farmers knowlege especially the members of famers groups about the aplication of feed suplement Urea Lime Cassava Block (ULCB). The service was conducted on Saturdy on 7nd September 2013 at Tribuana Groups of farmers at banjar Pungutan, Tri Eka Buana village, and attended by 22 from 30 total members of farmers groups (73%). The methode used were direct instruction and discussion to the farmers. More than 90% members of farmers group not yet give feedsuplement, only 5% members of farmers group was given feed suplement like rice brand and water washing rice before being cooked. The result of the service showed that the farmenrs’ awareness and knowlege improve to give feed suplement such as Urea Lime Cassava Block, therefore the dry matter consumption will al so improve. The nutrient requirement could fulfill and will impact to the improvement of cattle growth and production.Key words: feed suplement, cattle
