Abstract

Research on profiles of mathematical problem solving ability in junior high school students on the opportunities material in terms of learning styles aimed to obtain a description of the mathematical problem solving skills based learning styles of students, that learning styles were visual, auditory, and kinesthetic. This type of research was a qualitative descriptive. The subject of research were nine students, each type of learning style consisted of 3 students. The results showed that mathematical problem solving ability of students with the type of visual learning style was superior than the students with the type of auditory and kinesthetic.

Abstract

 This research aimed to test the influence of the independent variable which is Missouri Mathematics Project (MMP) learning model using talking stick method against its dependent variable which is the outcome of students? mathematics learning, that are conducted on the second semester of 2015/2016 school year. This research used pretest-posttest design and random subject class control. The study population that was used in this research are the whole students of 7th grade of MTS Negeri Tuban that have 9 classrooms which consist of 275 students. The sample on this research is 7th-grade students in class I as experimental class, totaling 31 students that were taught by MMP learning models using talking stick method. While class H which consist of 29 students is as control class that were taught by direct instruction. The outcome of this research is some effect have shown on the students that are taught by using MMP learning models using talking stick method towards their mathematics learning outcom

Abstract

Penelitian ini didasari oleh rendahnya kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa MTs Muhammadiyah 2 Palang. Hal tersebut terjadi karena siswa mengalami kesulitan dalam memahami, merencanakan, melaksanakan, memeriksa kembali yang ada pada soal yang diberikan. Dalam proses pembelajaran matematika cenderung guru lebih aktif dari pada siswa. Peneliti berharap dengan menggunakan pembelajaran TSTS (Two Stay Two Stray) akan meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) Mendeskripsikan peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa (2) Mendeskripsikan respon siswa. Dalam penelitian ini dilakukan dalam tiga siklus dan metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu metode tes dan metode angket respon kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah kelas VIII MTs Muhammadiyah 2 Palang dengan sampel kelas VIII-A dengan jumlah siswa laki – laki 12 siswa dan perempuan 12 siswa . Data yang di analisis dalam penelitian ini adalah data tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa dan data angket respon siswa. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran Two Stay Two Stray (TSTS) dapat meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari persentase hasil ketuntasan belajar siswa pada siklus I mencapai 30%, siklus II mencapai 50% dan siklus III mencapai 86%. Kesimpulannya adalah bahwa model pembelajaran TSTS dapat meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa kelas VIII MTs Muhammadiyah 2 Palang Tahun Ajaran 2017/2018. Dan data respon siswa terhadap model pembelajaran TSTS diperoleh 78,05% siswa yang memberikan respon positif.

Abstract

Research based on the independent learning program related to the application of HOTS questions is aimed at making students have the ability to think critically and think creatively. Based on data according to (1) the program for international student assessment (PISA) in 2012 it was 375, in 2015 it was 386, and in 2018 it was 379 for math problems. The low PISA is due to the difficulty of teachers in compiling math problems, especially HOTS-based so that math problems are difficult for some students to understand. This was confirmed by the results of observations, that during the COVID-19 pandemic learning was carried out online with limited media such as WhatsApp and Zoom, so that the application of HOTS questions was difficult, especially in their preparation. So, the author conducted a study aimed at knowing the level of difficulty of teachers in compiling HOTS-based math problems during the pandemic. Obtained the formulation of the problem, namely; 1) how is the level of teacher difficulty in compiling HOTS-based math problems during a pandemic?, 2) how is the level of understanding of teachers in compiling HOTS questions?, 3) how do teachers overcome difficulties in compiling HOTS questions?. Qualitative descriptive research method with data collection techniques of observation, questionnaires, and interviews. Furthermore, data analysis is data reduction, presentation, and verification as well as data validity testing, namely credibility, transferability, frontability, and confirmability testing. The results of the study were 1) the difficulty level of the teacher in compiling HOTS-based math problems during the pandemic was different based on the difficulty indicators, 2) the teacher understood the basics of making HOTS questions such as the HOTS question level C4-C6 but had difficulty implementing it, 3) the teacher's way of overcoming the difficulties, namely independent learning from the internet, discussions between teachers, providing stimulus questions that lead to the majors of vocational students, and evaluating the annual meeting for implementing schools.

Abstract

In calculus, integral operation is usually used to calculate a wide or volume of an object. But in reality there is a lot of object that the function is still unknown while in integral we need to it to be calculated. In this paper we proposed an approach to get the mathematic function of an object based on its shape. Actually with a whole data from that object we can use elimination Gauss Jordan to get a function, but that function is uncertainly able to generate the desired graph that similar to the object. A graph from non-linier function usually undergoing some change at some point, which is at extreme point and at turn point. With those point as a new limitation point we can get some new function that generate different or similar graph from each other. From those graph we compare them with the object shape and analyzing them to decide which one is the most approaching the object shape. In this paper we get the conclusion that in order to get the desired graph we need to test function from all three type of data then compare them to the real object shape.

Abstract

Setiap tahun penduduk Kabupaten Tuban mengalami peningkatan. Banyak masalah yang dihadapi ketika suatu kota padat akan penduduk antara lain sempitnya lapangan kerja, menurunnya tingkat pendidikan, menyempitnya lahan untuk tempat tinggal. Oleh karena itu peramalan jumlah penduduk perlu dilakukan sebagai wacana pertumbuhan penduduk dan pemerintah dapat mengatasi pertumbuhan penduduk tersebut. Dalam penelitian ini penulis menggunakan perbandingan metode Trend Moment dan Single Moving Average untuk meramalkan jumlah penduduk Kabupaten Tuban tahun 2017-2021. Untuk meramalkan jumlah penduduk Kabupaten Tuban 2017-2021 adalah berdasarkan nilai error yang didapat dari kedua metode, perhitungan menggunakan metode Trend Moment menghasilkan nilai error sebesar 0.004095943 untuk jumlah penduduk laki-laki dan 0,003348244 untuk jumlah penduduk perempuan. Metode Single Moving Average didapatkan nilai error 0,080665024 untuk jumlah penduduk laki-laki dan 0,063613282 untuk jumlah penduduk perempuan. Sehingga metode yang paling tepat untuk meramalkan jumlah penduduk Kabupaten Tuban adalah metode Trend Moment. Peramalan jumlah penduduk Kabupaten Tuban selama 5 tahun mengalami kenaikan dengan rata-rata sebesar 1,013% untuk jumlah penduduk laki-laki dan jumlah penduduk perempuan sebesar 1,031%.
