Abstract

Research on profiles of mathematical problem solving ability in junior high school students on the opportunities material in terms of learning styles aimed to obtain a description of the mathematical problem solving skills based learning styles of students, that learning styles were visual, auditory, and kinesthetic. This type of research was a qualitative descriptive. The subject of research were nine students, each type of learning style consisted of 3 students. The results showed that mathematical problem solving ability of students with the type of visual learning style was superior than the students with the type of auditory and kinesthetic.

Abstract

AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menilai seberapa praktis dan efektif model pembelajaran English For Specific Purpose (ESP) berbasis ICT dalam meningkatkan  kemandirian belajar mahasiswa. Penerapan model pembelajaran dilaksanakan di Prodi Pendidikan Ekonomi dan Prodi pendidikan Bahasa Inggris Unirow Tuban. Pengumpulan data menggunakan instrumen  pengamatan, kuesioner, dan tes. Pelaksanaan analisis data mempergunakan statistik deskriptif untuk uji kepraktisan dan keefektifan. Hasil analisis data menunjukan keterlaksanaan model tergolong tinggi (praktis). Keefektifan penerapan model pembelajaran berbasis ICT terlihat pada 5 aspek yaitu pengelolaan pembelajaran, aktivitas belajar dan kemandirian belajar mahasiswa tergolong tinggi; ketuntasan belajar individual dan klasikal tercapai, mahasiswa merespon positif terhadap penerapan model pembelajaran berbasis ICT.Kata Kunci: Kepraktisan, keefektifan, e-learning, ICT.

Abstract

Each student has a different level of critical thinking ability, while critical thinking is a basic ability that students must possess. The purpose of this study is to describe students' critical thinking skills based on Facion steps on the subject lines and trapezoidal. This research is a descriptive study using quantitative and qualitative data. The research instrument used was in the form of critical thinking ability test questions and interview guidelines. The research subjects used were 32 students while the study sample analyzed the data as many as 3 students who entered the 3 categories of high, medium, and low critical thinking skills. The data analysis technique used in the form of descriptive statistical data analysis developed based on indicators of thinking, namely interpretation, analysis, evaluation, and inference. The results of this study indicate that students' critical thinking skills based on Facion steps on the subject line and trapezoid class VII-D SMP Negeri 1 Jenu 2017/2018 school year are generally in the low category with an average score of 64.82.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe student activities, increase learning outcomes and student responses during the learning process with PBL Model with a scientific approach to building materials for cubes, beams and prisms in class VIII D MTs Gandrirojo Sedan in 2017/2018. The subjects of this study were students of class VIII D MTs Gandrirojo Sedan totaling 34 students consisting of 18 sons and 16 girls. Data collection techniques come from students in the form of observations, tests and questionnaires. The results showed that PBL learning can improve student activity, learning outcomes and responses. This can be seen from the percentage of student activities that fall into the active category in the first cycle reaching 55.88%, the second cycle reaching 79, 41%, and the third cycle reaching 91.17%. While the percentage of mathematical learning completeness of students in the first cycle reached 61.76%, in the second cycle reached 91.17%, and in the third cycle it reached 100%. Student responses to learning are also positive. This can be seen from the results of the response questionnaire which showed that 97% of students responded positively. For this reason, learning activities using the PBL learning model can improve student activities and learning outcomes.

Abstract

This research aims to identify the validity of the development of GeoGebra-based Power Point learning media on the subject of the Pythagorean theorem for junior high school students. This research procedure uses research and development. The development model used is the Thiagarajan 4-D development model which is divided into 4 sessions, namely the Definition session, the Design session, the Development session, and the Disseminate session. In this research, the dissemination session could not be attempted due to research limitations, namely the COVID-19 pandemic. The information collection instrument was in the form of module expert validation sheets and media experts. Information analysis method uses quantitative descriptive. In the results of the information analysis, the average validity or feasibility score of the material was 84, 44% in the very good category and the average media validity or feasibility score was 86, 90% in the very good category. It is concluded that the results of the validation test of GeoGebra-based PowerPoint learning media on the subject of the Pythagorean theorem for junior high school students are very good for use in learning at school.

Abstract

Research based on the independent learning program related to the application of HOTS questions is aimed at making students have the ability to think critically and think creatively. Based on data according to (1) the program for international student assessment (PISA) in 2012 it was 375, in 2015 it was 386, and in 2018 it was 379 for math problems. The low PISA is due to the difficulty of teachers in compiling math problems, especially HOTS-based so that math problems are difficult for some students to understand. This was confirmed by the results of observations, that during the COVID-19 pandemic learning was carried out online with limited media such as WhatsApp and Zoom, so that the application of HOTS questions was difficult, especially in their preparation. So, the author conducted a study aimed at knowing the level of difficulty of teachers in compiling HOTS-based math problems during the pandemic. Obtained the formulation of the problem, namely; 1) how is the level of teacher difficulty in compiling HOTS-based math problems during a pandemic?, 2) how is the level of understanding of teachers in compiling HOTS questions?, 3) how do teachers overcome difficulties in compiling HOTS questions?. Qualitative descriptive research method with data collection techniques of observation, questionnaires, and interviews. Furthermore, data analysis is data reduction, presentation, and verification as well as data validity testing, namely credibility, transferability, frontability, and confirmability testing. The results of the study were 1) the difficulty level of the teacher in compiling HOTS-based math problems during the pandemic was different based on the difficulty indicators, 2) the teacher understood the basics of making HOTS questions such as the HOTS question level C4-C6 but had difficulty implementing it, 3) the teacher's way of overcoming the difficulties, namely independent learning from the internet, discussions between teachers, providing stimulus questions that lead to the majors of vocational students, and evaluating the annual meeting for implementing schools.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh asumsi peneliti bahwa sebagian mahasiswa telah mengenal materi integral pada saat SMA/MA khususnya yang mengambil jurusan IPA dan siswa SMK kelompok bidang teknologi, kesehatan dan pertanian. Oleh karena itu, boleh jadi tingkat penguasaan mahasiswa terhadap materi integral pada mata kuliah matematika dasar berbeda satu dengan lainnya. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan tingkat penguasaan mahasiswa terhadap materi integral pada mata kuliah matematika dasar yang diampu peneliti berdasarkan latar belakang sekolah mahasiswa. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif (kuantitatif) yang datanya diambil dengan angket dan tes tulis. Adapun tingkat penguasaan yang dimaksud dalam penelitian ini peneliti klasifikasikan sebagai berikut: 1) sangat menguasai, jika diukur dengan skor yang diperoleh sekurang-kurangnya 76% dari skor maksimal ideal untuk kategori yang bersangkutan; 2) menguasai, jika diukur dengan skor yang diperoleh mahasiswa antara 56%–75% dari skor maksimal ideal; 3) kurang menguasai, jika diukur dengan skor yang diperoleh mahasiswa antara 40%–55% dari skor maksimal ideal; 4) tidak menguasai, jika diukur dengan skor yang diperoleh antara 0%–40% dari skor maksimal ideal. Selanjutnya dilakukan analisis ragam satu arah (one way anova) untuk menguji adanya perbedaan rata-rata hasil tes mahasiswa berdasarkan asal sekolah. Kesimpulan dari hasil penelitian ini adalah ada perbedaan tingkat penguasaan mahasiswa terhadap materi integral berdasarkan asal sekolah. Mahasiswa yang berasal dari SMK dengan skor rata-rata 67,33 masuk dalam klasifikasi menguasai; mahasiswa yang berasal dari SMA/MA jurusan IPA dengan skor rata-rata 61,93 masuk dalam klasifikasi menguasai; sedangkan mahasiswa yang berasal dari SMA/MA jurusan IPS dengan skor rata-rata 41,82 masuk dalam klasifikasi kurang menguasai. Berdasarkan hasil analisis ragam satu arah (one way anova) juga ditunjukkan ada perbedaan signifikan rata-rata hasil tes mahasiswa berdasarkan asal sekolah. Ini ditunjukkan dari nilai F = 7,319 yang lebih besar dari F(2,46)(0,95) = 4,00. Atau Sig. = 0,002 < 0,05 = α.

Abstract

To describe the ability to solve story problems, build a flat-side space using the Newman stage, researchers conducted descriptive research using qualitative and quantitative data. The subjects of this study were all students of class VIII A MTs Musthofawiyah Nguruan in the academic year 2017/2018 consisting of 17 students. Data retrieval was carried out through a description and interview test with descriptive data analysis techniques developed based on indicators of problem solving ability based on Newman stages. The research data shows the ability to solve story problems in building a flat side of class VIII A MTs Musthofawiyah Nguruan in the 2017/2018 school year based on the Newman stage is in less qualification, with the following questions: the ability of students to understand the problem in sufficient qualifications, students' ability to transform the problem in sufficient qualifications, the ability of students in the processing skills stage is lacking.
