Abstract

Sungai mempunyai peranan yang sangat penting bagi masyarakat dan makhluk hidup lainnya dan salah satunya Sungai Tallo di Kota Makassar, namun berbagai aktivitas di sepanjang Sungai Tallo dapat mencemari sungai dan mengancam kelangsungan hidup berbagai macam organisme yang terdapat di perairan sehingga mengganggu keseimbangan ekosistem sungai termasuk makrozoobentos.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis struktur komunitas makrozoobentos di Sungai Tallo Kota Makassar.Penelitian ini dilaksanakandi Sungai Tallo pada bulan Maret-April 2014. Metode yang digunakan adalah purposive random sampling dengan menetapkan empat (4) stasiun penelitian, pengumpulan data primer yang meliputi pengambilan sampel air, sedimen dan makrozoobentos, analisis laboratorium untuk mengindentifikasi jenis makrozoobentos dan pengukuran parameter fisika kimia perairan, sedimen.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa struktur komunitas makrozoobentos terdiri dari filum Molusca, Annelida dan Crustacea dengan 5 kelas yaitu 16 jenis yang termasuk ke dalam kelas Gastropoda, 11 jenis kelas Bivalvia, 2 jenis kelas Oligochaeta, 1 jenis kelas Polychaeta dan 1 jenis kelas Malacostraca.Kepadatan individu tertinggi terdapat pada stasiun III (Kera-kera) yaitu jenis Melanoides tuberculata (1938,89 ind/m2) dan pada stasiun II (PLTU Tello), stasiun I (Bukit Baruga) dan stasiun IV (PT. KTC) yaitu jenis Melanoides granifera dengan kepadatan individu berturut-turut 924,07 ind/m2, 1114,81 ind/m2 dan 887,04 ind/m2. Kisaran nilai indeks keanekaragaman 1,05-2,89 dengan nilai tertinggi terdapat di stasiun IV (PT. KTC) dan terendah di stasiun III (Kera-kera), indeks keseragaman berkisar antara 0,45-0,76 dengan nilai tertinggi di stasiun IV dan terendah di stasiun III. kisaran nilai indeks dominansi 0,07-0,59 dengan yang tertinggi di stasiun III dan terendah di stasiun IV. Kualitas perairan Sungai Tallo berdasarkan indeks keanekaragaman Shannon Wiener pada semua stasiun dikategorikan tercemar ringan-sedang (H’ = 1,05-2,89) ditandai dengan tingkat kekeruhan, kandungan COD,TOMpada air dan sedimen yang cukup tinggi. Selain itu, kehadiran jenis makrozoobentos Melanoides tuberculata, Thiara scabra,Melanoides granifera, Branchiura sp dan Lumbriculus sp juga mengindikasikan adanya pencemaran. Kesimpulan penelitian ini, kualitas air Sungai Tallo dapat dikategorikan tercemar ringan-sedang.

Abstract

Punagaya waters are one of the seaweed cultivation locations in Jeneponto Regency. In 2005, a power plant was built at that location. This development has raised concerns, especially for seaweed farmers in the area. The sustainability of seaweed cultivation and production in Punagaya waters is primarily determined by the water quality and several other related aspects. The purpose of this study was to find information on the physical and chemical conditions of Punagaya waters used for seaweed cultivation after the construction of the power plant (PLTU) and the possibility of contamination of Plumbum (Pb) and Cadmium (Cd). Samples for physical and chemical measurements of seawater were carried out in-situ at the study site, while the chemical analysis of water in the form of nitrate, phosphate, plumbum (Pb) and cadmium (Cd) was carried out in the laboratory. The results showed that the physical and chemical conditions of the Punagaya waters used for seaweed cultivation after the PLTU construction were still within the permissible limits for seaweed cultivation. However, it needs to be aware of the high-temperature value. The value of heavy metals is still in the lower limit for cultivation for seaweed.

Abstract

Bentuk pelaksanaan kewirausahaan kampus sedikit berbeda dari tahun sebelumnya karena kegiatan lebih banyak dilaksanakan secara daring (dalam jaringan) disebabkan pandemi Covid-19 yang melanda sejak bulan Maret 2020. Kegiatan bertujuan untuk menciptakan wirausaha kampus yang menyediakan lapangan kerja buat diri sendiri maupun masyarakat sekitar, yang mandiri, ulet, gigih, komunikatif dan profesional. Metode pelaksanaan dilakukan melalui beberapa tahapan kegiatan secara online. Tahapan pelaksanaan kegiatan, yaitu sosialisasi kewirausahaan ke mahasiswa dan alumni, pembentukan kelompok usaha, pembekalan ilmu dan keterampilan usaha, pelatihan kewirausahaan, pemberian bantuan peralatan dan modal usaha, monitoring evaluasi, serta pendampingan dan pembimbingan usaha secara terpadu. Jenis usaha yang dilakukan oleh mahasiswa dan alumni (tenan) baik perorangan maupun kelompok terdiri atas 12 jenis usaha, yaitu usaha risol kepindang, jalangkote milenial, martabak ikan, sambal ikan tuna, nila sibolok, lamp arium, selai rutla, salad buah ikan, abon ikan bandeng, sinori, amplang mama mia, dan pudding rutla. Masalah yang melingkupi adalah terbatasnya sebahagian akses untuk mendapatkan bahan baku serta pemasaran produk. Solusi permasalahan yaitu dengan memperluas hubungan komunikasi secara online untuk membantu ketersediaan bahan baku serta pemasaran. Pemberdayaan usaha kampus dengan memaksimalkan pemanfaatan potensi sumberdaya lokal masing-masing tempat usaha, serta komunikasi interaktif dengan pelaksana kewirausahaan kampus dan instansi terkait guna memaksimalkan usaha dan pengembangan operasional usaha tenan. Kegiatan kewirausahaan kampus di era pandemic Covid-19 berjalan dengan sukses melalui sinergitas dan kerjasama yang baik dari berbagai pihak. Kata kunci: Kewirausahaan kampus, bahan baku, pemasaran produk. ABSTRACT The form of campus entrepreneurship implementation is slightly different from the previous year because more activities are carried online (on the network) due to the Covid-19 pandemic that has hit since March 2020. The activity aims to create campus entrepreneurs who provide employment opportunities for themselves and the surrounding community, which independent, tenacious, persistent, communicative and professional. The implementation method is carried out through several stages of online activities. The stages of implementing the activities, namely socialization of entrepreneurship to students and alumni, formation of business groups, provision of business knowledge and skills, entrepreneurship training, provision of equipment and business capital assistance, evaluation monitoring, as well as integrated business assistance and guidance. The types of businesses carried out by students and alumni (tenants) both individually and in groups consist of 12 types of businesses, namely risol kepindang, millenial jalangkote, fish martabak, tuna fish sauce, tilapia sibolok, lamp arium, rutla jam, fish fruit salad, abon milkfish, sinori, mama mia amplang, and rutla pudding. The problem that surrounds it is the limited access to some raw materials and product marketing. The solution to the problem is to expand online communication relationships to help with the availability of raw materials and marketing. campus business empowerment by maximizing the utilization of local resource potential of each place of business, as well as interactive communication with campus entrepreneurship implementers and related agencies in order to maximize business and business operational development of tenants. Campus entrepreneurship activities in the era of the covid-19 pandemic were running successfully through good synergy and cooperation from various parties. Abstract

Fisheries activities red snapper in Pinrang waters is considered to be a small scale and caught with that variety of types instrument catch fish (multi gears) one of them is bubu fishing gear. Now, the level of the utilization of red snapper is believed to have been experience symptoms of over fishing due to the high pressure in the area. The study aims to analyze the size structure and length-weight correlation of red snapper (Lutjanus sp). The study was conducted during 5 months of period, starting from March to July 2019 in Pinrang waters, Pinrang District. The sample of the fish obtained by fishermen using ‘Bubu’ fishing gear. The results showed that the total length structure of males and females of the red snapper was ranging from 32 - 57 cm, while the weight structure of males and females of the red snapper had a wide range from 500 to 2500 grams. The total sample of the red snapper is 163 divided into 68 males and 95 females. The growth pattern of red snapper can be categorized in a negative allometric type with a value of b = 2.3328 which means that the length increased faster than the weight gain.

Abstract

Terumbu karang mempunyai nilai dan arti yang sangat penting dari segi sosial, ekonomi maupun budaya, pemantauan tutupan terumbu karang penting dilakukan untuk mengetahui tingkat kesehatan ekosistem karang tujuan pengelolaan. Tanakeke merupakan salah satu gugusan kepulauan sebagian besar perairannya dikelilingi oleh ekosistem terumbu karang yang dimanfaatkan oleh nelayan sebagai area Fishing Ground untuk menangkap ikan dan sebagai alur pelayaran transportasi kapal. Namun beberapa penelitian yang telah terpublikasikan sebelumnya lebih fokus pada komunitas ikan di sekitar terumbu karang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kondisi tutupan karang dengan menggunakan Metode Point Intercept Transect (PIT), metode ini merupakan salah satu metode yang dikembangkan untuk memantau kondisi karang hidup dengan cara menghitung persen tutupan substrat dasar secara acak. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada Bulan Oktober 2021. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ekosistem terumbu karang yang berada di Perairan Kepulauan Tanakeke khususnya di sebelah timur-timur laut, di sebelah barat laut, dan di sebelah timur laut Kecamatan Kepulauan tergolong karang rusak, karang baik, dan karang sedang. Pada stasiun 1, tutupan karang jenis Acropora sebesar 18% dan tutupan karang jenis Non-Acropora sebesar 22%. Pada stasiun 2, tutupan karang jenis Acropora sebesar 70% dan tutupan karang jenis Non-Acropora sebesar 18%. Sedangkan pada stasiun 3, tutupan karang jenis Acropora sebesar 28% dan tutupan karang jenis Non-Acropora sebesar 48%.

Abstract

Topejawa village has the potential to develop a fish culinary business. The coastline that stretches as far as 0.8 km and the existence of fish landing sites (TPI) in the Lamangkia Topejawa Hamlet are very possible for the community to create a fish culinary business that is integrated with the Lamangkia coastal tourism area. The purpose of the activity is to empower the community for fish culinary business and it is hoped that it can help in improving the standard of living of the people of Dusun Lamangkia. The method of carrying out activities is by carrying out social approaches. The approach is carried out through outreach activities, counseling on the processing of fishery products, training and technical guidance on processing, assistance in establishing and legalizing businesses, as well as assistance in the manufacture of business products. The results of the implementation of the activity are the creation of motivation to carry out a fish-based processing business, as well as the formation of the Mentari Lamangkia fish culinary business

Abstract

Seagrass beds in the waters of Barrang Lompo Island and Kodingareng Lompo have their own characteristics, especially for the type of Thalassia hemprichii. The purpose of this study was to determine the morphometric characteristics of seagrass Thalassia hemprichii and the environmental conditions of the waters on Barrang Lompo Island and Kodingareng Lompo Island. This research was conducted in June-July 2022 in the waters of Barrang Lompo Island and Kodingareng Lompo Island. The research method used was purposive sampling. Morphometrics of seagrass Thalassia hemprichii on Barrang Lompo Island at station 1 average leaf length 10.88 cm, leaf width 1 cm, rhizome length 5 cm, root length 6.46 cm, number of roots 8. At station 2 leaf length measures 7.5 cm, leaf width 1 cm, rhizome length 7.84 cm, root length 6.64 cm and number of roots 5. Meanwhile on Kodingareng Lompo Island at station 1 the size of leaf length was 10.33 cm, leaf width 1 cm, rhizome length 4 cm , root length 4.33 cm and number of roots 5. At station 2 the size of leaf length was 9.63 cm, leaf width 1 cm, rhizome length 4.85 cm, root length 4 cm, number of roots 5. Morphometrics of seagrass Thalassia hemprichii on islands Barrang Lompo and Kodingareng Lompo islands did not show a significant difference. The environmental conditions of the waters on both islands are still in optimum conditions for seagrass growth for the parameters of current speed and brightness.

Abstract

Macrozoobenthos are bottom animals that play an important role in the productivity of waters in seagrass beds. This study aims to determine the species composition, density of macrozoobenthos, community structure of macrozoobenthos and the relationship between seagrass density and density of macrozoobenthos. The research method used is purposive sampling method, this method is taken based on certain reasons and criteria. This research was conducted in June-July 2022 on Barrang Lompo Island. Sangkarrang District, Makassar City. There were 26 species found consisting of 4 classes namely Bivalvia, Gastropods, Chepalopods and Crustacea with a total of 283 ind and dominated by the Gastropod class, both from the number of species and individual density. Macrozoobenthos community structure on Barrang Lompo Island at station I and II with a moderate diversity index (H'), moderate uniformity index (E') and low dominance index (D). The types of seagrass found at stations I and II were Enhalus acoroides, Thalassia hemprichii, and Cymodocea rotundata. The regression results of the relationship between seagrass density and macrozoobenthos density on Barrang Lompo Island show a weak relationship, which means that seagrass density has no relationship with macrozoobenthos density but macrozoobenthos density is influenced by physical and chemical factors of the waters and the type of sandy substrate.

Abstract

Sea urchins were ecologically and economically important biota, but scientific information on sea urchins is still very minimal and there is no ongoing monitoring. The purpose of this study was to determine the density, abundance, community structure, and distribution patterns of sea urchins in the intertidal zone of Karanrang Island, Pangkep Regency. The research in June-July 2022 was carried out at high and low tide using three transects measuring 1 x 1 m consisting of four plots measuring 50 x 50 cm.  Determination of stations based on information from local residents to get observation stations based on tidal conditions. The results showed that three species of sea urchins from two families were found, namely Diadema setosum, Echinothrix calamaris, and Tripneustes gratilla. The species of D. setosum was found to be very abundant (97.3-97.6%) and tended to be more abundant during high tide than during low tide. The index of diversity and uniformity of porcupine species is low (H' = 0.130-0.142 and E = 0.118-0.129). The species dominance index was in the range of 0.946-0.953 indicating high dominance of D. setosum. Spatially, D. setosum had a uniform distribution pattern, whereas E. calamaris and T. gratilla were distributed in clusters. Further spatial and temporal research is needed to comprehensively determinant the conditions of the sea urchin population on Karanrang Island, Pangkep Regency.

Abstract

Information on morphometrics has been widely used for catches. This study aims to determine the morphometric characteristics of rabbitfish in a multi-trophic system cultivation based on feeding rate. Rabbitfish are maintained in an integrated manner with green mussels, sea urchins, and seaweed. The study was conducted for 6 weeks at the Laboratory of the Balik Diwa Maritime Technology and Business Institute, Makassar. Three feeding rate treatments of 5%, 7.5%, and 10% each with three replications were given to rabbitfish with a frequency of 4 times a day. During maintenance, a closed water circulation process was carried out and continuous aeration was provided in each container. The results showed that the total length at feeding rates of 5%, 7.5%, and 10% were 5.3 cm, 7.1 cm, 8.1 cm, respectively, and the standard length was 4.1 cm, 5.8 cm, and 6.7 cm, respectively. Meanwhile, the height of each body was 1.8 cm, 2.1 cm, and 2.6 cm. Analysis of variance showed that these three morphometric variables were significantly affected by feeding rate, and the three levels of feeding rate were significantly different (P<0.05). Water quality during maintenance was in the range that could be tolerated by rabbitfish. Temperature was in the range of 26.0-28.6°C, salinity 25.1-28.5 ppt, dissolved oxygen 5.2-7.1 mg/L, pH 7.6-8.0 and ammonia 0.032-0.095 mg/L. The morphometric characteristics of rabbitfish in multi-trophic system cultivation increased significantly along with the increase in feeding rate.
