Abstract

Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk penyuluhan pentingnya perilaku hidup bersih dan sehat dalam upaya pencegahan penyakit degeneratif pada remaja. Hasil dari kegiatan ini bagi Para remaja hendaknya lebih aktif dalam mencari informasi tentang kesehatan melalui media lain selain penyuluhan dan leaflet (media cetak), baik dari media cetak yang lain seperti koran, tabloid, majalah maupun media elektronik lainnya seperti televisi dan radio. Kegiatan ini diharapkan dapat berjalan dalam kehidupan sehari hari masyarakat secara kontinyu.

Abstract

Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk penyuluhan pentingnya perilaku hidup bersih dan sehat dalam upaya pencegahan penyakit degeneratif pada remaja. Hasil dari kegiatan ini bagi Para remaja hendaknya lebih aktif dalam mencari informasi tentang kesehatan melalui media lain selain penyuluhan dan leaflet (media cetak), baik dari media cetak yang lain seperti koran, tabloid, majalah maupun media elektronik lainnya seperti televisi dan radio. Abstract

Entrepreneurship can be achieved by unlocking potential, creating culture and building synergy by developing entrepreneurship. This achievement was not only made by Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises but also by students, especially in the health sector. The aim of this service is to provide Entrepreneurship Education to Increase Knowle dge of Health Students at STIKES Griya Husada Sumbawa. This service was carried out during November 2023-January 2024. This community service activity took place at STIKES Griya Husada Sumbawa with the target activity being STIKES Griya Husada students taking the Entrepreneurship Course in the Odd Semester of the 2023/2024 Academic Year. This service work plan goes through three stages, namely preparation, providing material, and discussion. The results achieved in this activity are based on three indicators, namely the quality of the material provided, the quality of the activity process carried out, and the quality of the resource persons. Based on the results of community service activities that have been carried out, it shows that the average service activity process reaches 100% starting from providing materials, feedback, and field practice.

Abstract

Salah satu cara meningkatkan derajat kesehatan mandiri dengan memanfaatkan bahan alami seperti belimbing wuluh (Averrhoa bilimbi L.) yang kaya akan kandungan kimiawi. Inovasi yang dilakukan agar masyarakat mengkonsumsi buah ini dengan membuat kurma. Tujuan pengabdian ini yaitu memanfaatkan flora lokal Belimbing Wuluh (Averrhoa bilimbi L.) menjadi kurma untuk meningkatkan kesehatan tubuh. Pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat dilakukan dengan penyuluhan dan pembuatan kurma belimbing wuluh. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi survei kebutuhan masyarakat, persiapan dan proses pembuatan, pengemasan, dan monitoring. Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan bahwa pengabdian telah dilakukan sesuai metode pelaksanaan dan mencapai target 100%. Adapun hasil olahan memiliki struktur lembek di dalam dan keras di lapisan luar kulit, warna coklat kehitaman, rasa dominan manis, dan aroma menyukai. Sifat sensori dari pangan fungsional yang dilakukan pada pengabdian ini dapat berupa penampakan warna, tekstur, dan cita rasa yang dapat diterima konsumen, serta tidak memberikan kontradiksi dan efek samping terhadap metabolisme zat gizi lainnya jika digunakan dalam jumlah yang dianjurkan. Oleh karena itu, setelah mengetahui manfaat belimbing wuluh diharapkan masyarakat juga dapat terus mengonsumsi belimbing wuluh untuk meningkatkan derajat kesehatan secara mandiri.

Abstract

Anemia is a health problem throughout the world, especially in developing countries where an estimated 30% of the world's population suffers from anemia. In Indonesia, one of the problems faced by adolescents is the problem of micronutrient nutrition, namely around 12% of male adolescents and 23% of female adolescents experience anemia, which is mostly due to iron deficiency (iron deficiency anemia. Anemia in adolescents specifically experienced by female adolescents will have a more serious impact, considering they are prospective mothers who will become pregnant and give birth to a baby, thus increasing the risk of maternal death, premature birth and low birth weight babies (LBW).The government has a routine program related to the distribution of iron tablets for women of childbearing age (WUS ), including adolescents and pregnant women. To support this program requires a good understanding for young women regarding anemia and the importance of blood-supplementing tablets, one of which is providing counseling to students at MTs N 1 Sumbawa with the aim of increasing knowledge about the dangers of anemia and the importance of taking tablets added blood. This community service activity was carried out on May 26 with the result that the knowledge and understanding of students about anemia was getting better, students also knew that taking iron tablets was important. Students are also motivated to meet their nutritional needs and increase adherence in taking iron tablets regularly.

Abstract

The high consumption of cooking oil in daily life and food preparation both at the household level and in the food industry has resulted in an increasing amount of used cooking oil waste being produced. When the public is educated about the dangers of used cooking oil, there will be an increase in knowledge and awareness not to use used cooking oil again. However, this actually results in negative behavior in the community in managing used cooking oil waste which actually has a bad impact on the environment. This behavior includes used cooking waste from households that is thrown into the trash or thrown directly into the gutter. This can pollute the environment and if it is thrown into the dishwashing sink it will also clog the pipes. This behavior can be minimized by training in managing used cooking oil waste into decorative candles with economic value. This activity is carried out using counseling, demonstration and training methods. The result of this service activity is an increase in community skills in managing used cooking oil waste. So it is hoped that education and training like this can continue to be carried out

Abstract

The high consumption of cooking oil can result in the use of cooking oil being carried out repeatedly even though the use of cooking oil can only be used within certain limits. Used cooking oil has not been widely used by the community in several areas, including the community in Labuhan Village, Sumbawa. The community in Labuhan Village, Sumbawa, has many MSMEs related to cooking oil, including sellers of fried foods, crackers, skin crackers and food stalls, who need to use used cooking oil to minimize used cooking oil waste and increase their income from managing used cooking oil. So the aim of this service activity is to provide knowledge and improve skills as well as encourage the commitment of the Labuhan Sumbawa Village community in managing used cooking oil waste. This form of community service program takes the form of improving skills in the community through training activities. This community service activity is an expert activity with the stages of counseling, demonstration and training. The result of this service activity is an increase in participants' knowledge and skills in managing used cooking oil waste and there is a commitment to managing used cooking oil waste in protecting the environment and family health.

Abstract

Variasi pengolahan pare sebagai makanan tergolong minim dibandingkan dengan buah dan sayuran lainnya. Salah satu peluang usaha yang potensial untuk dibuat dan disukai banyak orang adalah mencampur buah tanaman tersebut sebagai olahan usaha kerupuk. Tujuan pengabdian ini yaitu memberdayakan mahasiswa melalui Pemanfaatan Pare Hutan (Momordica Balsamina) sebagai Bahan Olahan Kerupuk. Kegiatan pengabdian pada masyarakat dilaksanakan dengan melakukan survei pengetahuan mitra, teori pembuatan kerupuk, dan praktik pembuatan kerupuk. Berdasarkan hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa proses kegiatan pengabdian rata-rata mencapai 83%. Penampakan kerupuk mentah yaitu strukturnya keras dan tebal, warnanya coklat keabuan, aroma gurih bawang, sedangkan penampakan kerupuk goreng yaitu strukturnya keras, warnanya coklat muda, rasa gurih, dan aroma gurih. Hasil evaluasi beberapa mahasiswa untuk tes kerupuk menunjukkan bahwa kerupuk lebih baik dalam bentukan lebih tipis agar renyah saat digoreng. Oleh karena itu, perlu ada evaluasi terhadap hasil pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini agar menjadi produk yang lebih baik lagi.

Abstract

One way to prevent mosquito breeding is to limit the number of active mosquito populations and disrupt their life cycle. Preventive efforts to reduce exposure to mosquito bites by using anti-mosquito bed sheets. In several rural areas, people have used lemongrass and Monte orange plants traditionally, but not many have processed them into products with added value. Lack of knowledge and skills in the lemongrass oil extraction process is the main obstacle in developing this potential. The aim of this PKM is to empower the community by making liquid mosquito repellent from local ingredients, namely lemongrass and monte oranges in Labuhan Village, Sumbawa. This community service (PkM) activity will be carried out in November-December 2024 in Labuhan Badas Village, Sumbawa District. This training on making liquid mosquito repellent uses the creative learning method, which is an innovative method that presents material in an interesting and interactive way. The results of community service activities that have been carried out show that the average service activity process reaches 100%. It can be seen that the response from participants in this training was quite high, as shown by the large number of women from PKK cadres and households who attended. Apart from that, this PkM can provide knowledge and skills to mothers so they can complete the use of natural ingredients found around them as natural insecticides.

Abstract

Background: The elementary school (SD) in Jotang village in Sumbawa is a mountainous and coastal area with middle to lower economic status and the lack of availability of health workers there, allowing public knowledge, especially children, to be very lacking. There has never been any research on children's health in the area to be considered in choosing an elementary school in Jotang village to be the research site. This study aims to compare the effect of health promotion using audio media with audio-visual media on preventing the transmission of the COVID-19 virus to elementary school students in Jotang Village, Sumbawa RegencySubjects and Method: This research is a quasi-experimental study with pre-test and post-test designs. The research was conducted in Jotang village, Sumbawa regency, West Nusa Tenggara, Tahun 2022. The sample was 88 students. Variables The dependent variable was knowledge. The independent variables ware audio media and video media. Data were collected by using a questionnaire and analyzed by bivariate analysis with Mann Whitney test.  Results: That audio-visual media is more effective than audio media as a health promotion medium for elementary school children compared to audio media with p= 0.039.Conclusion: Audio-visual media is more effective than audio media as a health promotionKeywords: health promotion media, COVID-19, primary school.Correspondence:Lina Eta Safitri.
