Abstract

The progress of the traditional gold mining industry has a positive impact on improving the quality of life of the people, but on the other hand the progress of this industry has a negative impact on the environment. Mercury contamination from traditional gold mining occurs when the processing takes place which results in the holding tank being full, so that the tailings overflow and flow into the river, especially if it rains, then mercury contamination occurs in the surrounding environment. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effectiveness of a simple filtering device for activated coconut shell charcoal to reduce mercury levels in the waste water of the logs which included optimum contact time, optimum particle size, and optimum reuse. This type of research is True Experimental Design by providing treatment (contact time, particle size and repeated use of activated charcoal). It was concluded that the absorption of mercury waste with the highest efficiency value was activated charcoal particles measuring 35 mesh (0.5 mm) with an absorption percentage of 75.81%, the highest absorption percentage of mercury waste with a contact time of 180 minutes was 88.89%, and the optimal variation of the repetition of the use of activated charcoal is 5 times.

Abstract

The highest contribution of rising cooking oil prices to inflation occurred in November and December 2021, namely 0.08 percent each. The consumer price index for the food sub-group, which contained cooking oil commodities, was recorded to have increased from 107.10 in September 2021 to 112.34 in March 2022 (Setiawan, 2022). This encourages consumers, namely housewives and MSMEs, to switch to using used cooking oil or using oil repeatedly. Cooking oil that is used repeatedly can cause health problems and the waste can pollute the environment. Mothers have a very important role in the household, especially managing the consumption of people at home to maintain family health. In terms of preparing food for family members, mothers need to have high knowledge about food ingredients consumed and used in cooking. One form of our concern for health academics in improving health standards is through community service programs that we carry out through outreach activities about the dangers of used oil (used cooking oil). This activity began with participant registration, where participants who came were 23 participants consisting of TP-PKK members of Sumbawa Regency. The result of this activity is increased knowledge and attitude of using used cooking oil repeatedly at the household level

Abstract

Junk food consumption and its consequences have become a global public health problem. The pattern of excessive consumption of junk food is commonly found in adolescent groups. This can lead to nutritional problems such as underweight and obesity which can act as risk factors for various non-communicable diseases (PTM) such as hypertension, diabetes mellitus, cancer, cardiovascular disease and others. This community service activity aims to provide an understanding of the dangers of consuming junk food in adolescents through health education activities using power point media. This activity was carried out at SMAN 1 Moyo Utara with a total of 50 students in class X. The series of activities began with a pretest, delivery of counseling and posttest activities. The results of data analysis using the Wilcoxon test showed that there were differences in knowledge before and after counseling (0.021). With increased understanding, it is expected to be able to encourage students to be more selective in choosing the type of food to be consumed so that they can avoid various types of PTM.

Abstract

Mental health is a health problem that cannot be separated from other health problems, and is one of the problems that will become a burden for the state and families due to premature death and disability. Health services are services provided to students related to health, both preventive (prevention of disease), promotive (improving health), curative (treatment of disease) and reabilitative (recovery). Health Promotion is an effort to improve community capabilities through learning from, by, for and with the community, so that they can help themselves, as well as developing activities that are community resourced, appropriate to local social culture and supported by health-oriented public policies. This study uses all articles presented in the form of a literature review regarding "Community-based mental health promotion service models". Articles taken from Indonesian language journals that are relevant to the topic and published in the time span starting from 2015-2023. Based on the results of the literature review of the five journals analyzed, all of them provide significant differences in the questionnaire scores which can be seen from the average scores before (pretest) and after (posttest) the intervention. Abstract

Islamic Religious Education (PAI) plays an important role in shaping the character of students in Indonesia, especially at higher health education institutions such as STIKES Griya Husada Sumbawa. This article aims to explore the role of PAI learning in building student character and identify the challenges faced in its implementation. This research used a qualitative method with a field study approach, involving 30 students from the Nursing, Public Health and Midwifery Study Programs. Data was collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation, and analyzed using triangulation to ensure validity. The research results show that the majority of students consider PAI learning to be very important, although there are challenges related to the relevance of the material and teaching methods used. PAI learning is proven to have a positive impact on student character, however the application of these values in everyday life still faces obstacles. These findings emphasize the importance of improvements in the PAI curriculum and teaching methods to increase its effectiveness in forming superior student character and integrity.
