Abstract

Culture shock is one of the main problems for newcomer students. Some factors influencing culture shock include social support, emotional intelligence, and resilience. This study aimed to investigate the direct effect of social support and emotional intelligence on culture shock and indirectly through resilience. 85 newcomer students participated in the sudy filling the Culture Shock Questionnaire developed by Mumford in 1998, the Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support developed by Zimmet et al in 1988, The Brief Resilience Scale by Smith in 2008, and Emotional Intelligence Questionnaire developed by Victor Dulewicz & Malcolm Higgs in 1999. The data were analyzed by using SmartPLS 3.0. The result of the study showed that social support and emotional intelligence influenced culture shock significantly. Also, the result showed that resilience had a mediation effect on those relationships. The institution or university needs to create a learning environment which facilitate diversity. Thus, guidance and counseling services should be utilized to avoid and overcome the culture shock problem.

Abstract

This study examined the association between resilience and coping strategies on post-traumatic stress symptoms in Muslim university students. The study used a cross-sectional design and gathered data from 1157 participants using four questionnaires. The results showed that higher levels of resilience were related to higher coping strategies and lessened post-traumatic stress symptoms. In comparison, higher levels of coping strategies were correlated with lower levels of post-traumatic stress symptoms. In addition, the regression analysis revealed that resilience and coping strategies were significant predictors of post-traumatic stress symptoms, with resilience predicting lower levels of post-traumatic stress symptoms and coping strategies predicting higher levels. These findings suggest that interventions focusing on improving resilience and coping strategies may help reduce post-traumatic stress symptoms among Muslim university students. However, further research is needed to confirm these findings and examine this association's underlying mechanisms.

Abstract

Female students are still at risk of experiencing sexual harassment, which can lead to posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). This study investigated the impact of social support on PTSD female students who have been sexually harassed, as mediated by the resilience and religious coping. Out of a total of 1,439 female students who filed online self-reports, 170 female students reported being sexually harassed by lecturers, male students, and administrative officers. The PTSD checklist–civilian version (PCL-C), Multidimensional scale of perceived social support, brief resilience scale, and brief religious coping scale (RCOPE) were used to collect data. Partial least squares (PLS) modeling was used to test the developed hypothesis. This study found that social support, resilience, and religious coping all had an impact on PTSD. Furthermore, social support has an indirect effect on PTSD through resilience and religious coping. Because resilience and coping are mediators in recovering PTSD and that both can be intervened and modified, a training program specifically designed to improve both is needed to overcome the PTSD symptoms experienced by sexual harassment victims.

Abstract

Pandemi Covid-19 menghadirkan ancaman stabilitas keluarga. Keluarga menghadapi kenyataan dan ketakutan akan kehilangan serta kesedihan. Tujuan penelitan untuk menganalisis a) proses pengembangan modul dalam memperkuat resiliensi keluarga untuk mewjudkan pernikahan samarah, b) kelayakan modul dalam memperkuat resiliensi keluarga untuk mewjudkan pernikahan samarah. Pada penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian research and development (RnD). Model yang digunakan dalam skema RnD yakni potensi dan masalah, pengumpulan data, desain produk, validasi desain, revisi desain, uji coba produk, revisi produk, uji coba pemakaian, revisi produk. Instrumen dikembangkan oleh peneliti yang digunakan dalam mengukur kelayakan modul. Hasil dan proses dalam pengemabangan modul dengan tahapan mengidentifikasi potensi dan masalah, pengumpalan data, desain produk, dan validasi desain. Terdapat 5 orang reviwer ahli dalam bidangnya. Setelah melewati tahapan dengan sistematis, serta melewati uji kelayakan melalui expert judgment maka modul tersebut telah layak untuk digunakan. Oleh sebab itu rangkaian yang dilaksanakan secara sistematis dapat disimpulkan bahwa modul telah layak digunakan. Kata Kunci: modul resiliensi keluarga, covid-19, pernikahan

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membantu klien dalam menyelesaikan permasalahanya dan memberikan pemahaman melalui dinamika kelompok yang membahas mengenai perencanaan masa depan anak dengan latar belakang keluarga dan kecerdasan yang berbeda-beda. Metode yang digunakan adalah melakukan sosialisasi serta diskusi manfaat pelayanan bimbingan dan konseling, dan penerapan layanan konseling kelompok. Hasil pengabdian ini adalah terwujudnya perubahan pemikiran anak-anak panti dalam menentukan pilihan masa depan yang tepat tanpa memikirkan latar belakang keluarganya. Serta menciptakan tekat dan strategi pemilihan pendidikan yang linier dengan keinginan dan kemampuanya.

Abstract

The low proficiency in public speaking among students is not a trivial issue, as public speaking significantly influences the enhancement of students' self-confidence when speaking in public. This skill is not only relevant in the educational context but is also crucial in the professional world. The aim of this study is to analyze the role and strategies of public speaking in developing the self-confidence of engineering students at Kolej Vokasional Nibong Tebal, Pulai Pinang. The research method employed is qualitative, utilizing data collection techniques such as observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The data analysis technique used is descriptive analysis following the Miles and Huberman model. The results indicate that factors contributing to the low public speaking proficiency and self-confidence among engineering students at Kolej Vokasional Nibong Tebal, Pulai Pinang, include the lack of formal training in public speaking, limited opportunities for practice in real situations, insufficient foundational knowledge of public speaking techniques, high levels of anxiety and fear when speaking in public, lack of environmental support, challenges in using the medium of instruction, and previous negative experiences. Public speaking plays a crucial role in building self-confidence through the enhancement of self-efficacy, anxiety management, as well as social support and positive feedback. To improve public speaking and develop self-confidence among engineering students at Kolej Vokasional Nibong Tebal, a directed and effective strategy is required. This includes integrating public speaking into the curriculum, organizing workshops and intensive training, encouraging participation in practical activities, and providing mentoring and coaching programs.

Abstract

Penelitian ini diangkat dari permasalahan tekanan akademik yang terlalu berat hingga mmenyebabkan stres akademik. Penelitian ini bertujuan menjelaskan dan melihat bagaimana dampak dari koping religius terhadap stres akademik. peneitianJenis metode penelitian adalah kualitatif dengan desain subjektif. teknik pengambilan sampel dengan menggunakan purposive sampling denan jumlah 5 mahasiswa akhir. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara tidak terstruktur dan dokumentasi. Berdasarkan hasil wawancara terhadap subjek, Individu yang menerapkan koping religius menunjukkan tingkat stres akademik yang lebih rendah serta memiliki regulasi emosi dan kepercayaan diri yang lebih baik dalam menghadapi tantangan akademik. Keyakinan keagamaan juga membantu individu dalam mengembangkan perspektif yang lebih luas tentang makna dan tujuan pendidikan merekaHasil penelitian tentang koping religius dapat berdampak positif dan negatif terhadap stres akademik. Semakin tinggi koping religius maka semakin rendah stres akademik, begitu juga sebaliknya

Abstract

It is very important for teenagers today to have self-compassion for themselves in everyday life, because by having high self-compassion, students are able to love and give affection to themselves, tend to have views and push for more positive things, and are able to accept things. failures experienced by humans in general. However, some students still have low self-compassion, so they tend to judge themselves and tend to feel separated from their surroundings. The aim of this research is to determine the description of self-compassion in santri, as well as to determine the effect of group counseling with gratitude therapy on increasing self-compassion in santri. This research is a type of quantitative research using a quantitative experimental approach. The population in this study was students at junior high school level, class VIII, totaling 225 students. Samples were taken using purposive sampling techniques among students. The data collection technique used was the self-compassion scale, then the data was analyzed using descriptive analysis and the Wilcoxon test. The results of this research show that the self-compassion of students is in the medium category. Meanwhile, a Wilcoxon signed ranks test analysis was carried out, a significant value (2-tailed) of 0.003 <0.05 was obtained, which means that Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted, which shows that there is an influence of group counseling with gratitude therapy on increasing the self-compassion of students at the Al-Islam Islamic Boarding School. Abstract

The future of education faces complex challenges related to technology adaptation, curriculum relevance, and educational accessibility. An innovative approach that continues to gain momentum is Game-Based Learning (GBL) and gamification, which aim to enhance student engagement, motivation, and learning outcomes through interactive game elements. This study investigates the GBL approach and its impact within the context of digital education. The method used is a Systematic Literature Review (SLR), analyzing recent literature from 2023 to 2024. The findings indicate that GBL incorporates advanced technologies such as Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), and artificial intelligence (AI)-powered interactive platforms. These technologies have proven effective in supporting project-based learning, promoting digital literacy, and personalizing educational experiences to meet individual student needs. Furthermore, gamification—using narrative elements, challenges, and rewards—has been shown to increase curiosity and deepen engagement in the learning process. In conclusion, GBL and gamification present significant potential to foster dynamic, interactive, and inclusive learning environments. When designed effectively, these methods can not only improve learning motivation but also equip students with the skills necessary to tackle the challenges of the digital age. Further research is essential to address implementation obstacles and ensure the optimal integration of these approaches into the broader education system

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui gambaran kestabilan emosi mahasiswa yang sedang menyusun skripsi di Prodi Bimbingan dan Konseling Islam, Universitas Islam Negeri Ar-Raniry Banda Aceh. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan menggunakan metodologi deskriptif. Subjek yang akan diteliti dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 4 orang. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu metode observasi dan wawancara. Hasil dari penelitian yang telah dilakukan menunjukkan bahwa gambaran kestabilan emosi mahasiswa yang sedang menyusun skripsi di Prodi Bimbingan dan Konseling Islam, Universitas Islam Negeri Ar-Raniry Banda Aceh lebih didominasi oleh emosi negatif daripada emosi positif. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan hasil wawancara yang menunjukkan 3 dari 4 mahasiswa didominasi oleh emosi negatif selama proses pengerjaan skripsi berlangsung. Adapun emosi yang dirasakan yaitu sensitif, stres, takut, khawatir, cemas, frustasi, dan pesimis. Meskipun begitu, terdapat 1 informan yang lebih didominasi emosi positif yaitu optimis dan semangat. Kondisi emosi yang dimiliki selama pengerjaan skripsi disebutkan mengganggu performa informan dalam menyelesaikan skripsinya.
