The purpose of the study is to determine the effect of Brandt Daroff's physical therapy and classical music therapy on reducing the level of vertigo symptoms. The research method used was Pre Experimental Design with Intact – Group Comparison design. The respondents of this study were patients with vertigo. The participants of the study were determined using purposive sampling. The number of sample in this study were 30 people, which were divided into 15 people in the control group and 15 people in the treatment group. The results of the Independent T - Test statistical test obtained the value of Sig. (2 – tailed) p – value = 0.011 (p < 0.05) which means that there is an effect of giving Brandt Daroff physical therapy and classical music therapy in reducing the level of vertigo symptoms. Suggestions for further researchers are to pay more attention to other factors that can affect the level of vertigo symptoms. Suggestions for health workers in the future, this theory can be applied and taught to vertigo patients to reduce the level of vertigo symptoms.

The aim of this social project was to increase cadres' knowledge and skills in preventing and managing hypertension. The method was community empowerment through outreach activities about hypertension, early detection and management of hypertension, and non-pharmacological management training with effleurage back massage to control blood pressure in hypertension sufferers. The activity was attended by 25 POSBINDU PTM cadres in the Sananwetan Community Health Center, Blitar City. The results of the activity showed that there was an increase in cadres' knowledge of preventing and managing hypertension. Cadres' skills in non-pharmacological management through effleurage back massage were also increased. Effleurage Back Massage is a non-pharmacological management that can be easily applied by POSBINDU PTM cadres to hypertensive patients to control blood pressure and prevent complications.

Introduction: Interpersonal communication is a competency that must be possessed to foster cooperation. Failure in communication will reduce cooperation, which will impact the quality of service, especially in the operating room. Objectives: The aim of this research is to prove the effect of interpersonal relationship communication training according to Peplau's theory on nursing team collaboration in the operating room of the Haji Hospital, East Java Province. Methods: The quasi-experimental research method uses a pre-test-post-test control group design. The independent variable is interpersonal communication training. The dependent variable is the collaboration of the nursing team in the operating room. Data analysis using Wilcoxon and Mann-Whitney tests. The sample consisted of 25 nurses, with 13 in the treatment group and 12 in the control group. Results: The results of the Wilcoxon signed rank test for the treatment group were p = 0.002 ≤  = 0.05. There was a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test results in the treatment group. In the control group, the Wilcoxon test obtained p = 1.00 ≥  = 0.05, meaning there was no difference between the pre-test and post-test results. In the Mann-Whitney U test post-test for the treatment and control groups, the p value was 0.004 ≤ = 0.05, indicating that there is an influence of interpersonal relationship communication training on nursing team collaboration. Conclusion: Nurses' interpersonal communication in the operating room is very important to improve teamwork. Nurses are expected to improve interpersonal communication and teamwork.

Abstract

Elderly is someone who is in the final stage of adulthood where age starts from 60 years and over. This condition is interpreted as a decrease, weakness, increased risk of various diseases and other physiological changes. Elderly who experience this condition is called frailty syndrome. If not handled properly frailty syndrome can lead to increased death in the elderly. This study used a quantitative design with a cross sectional approach and data collection was carried out using a questionnaire as an instrument. The independent variables in this study were sociodemographic (abandonment and family functioning), physical, nutritional, psychological, functional and cognitive. While the dependent variable is frailty syndrome. The research sample was 95 respondents using purposive sampling technique. The analytical method uses the Spearman Rank test. Factors related to frailty syndrome at the Singosari Health Center were sociodemographic factors (neglect) (p=0.000), physical factors (p=0.000), functional factors (p=0.000), psychological factors (p=0.000), cognitive factors (p=0.000) and nutritional factors (p=0.000), while sociodemographic factors (family functions) (p=0.214) had no relationship with frailty syndrome and the most dominant factor was functional factors. The suggestion put forward is that the health center increases the intensity of physical exercise programs that already exist at the puskesmas and at the elderly Posyandu such as walking together and exercising for the elderly and inviting the elderly to participate actively in order to increase independence.

Abstract

Background: The installation of a ventilator is a stressor that can cause discomfort and anxiety, potentially leading to complications and having serious impacts on the patient's condition. Objective: To determine the pain scale in patients with mechanical ventilators using the CPOT. Method: The design is descriptive, involving a sample of 30 individuals who meet the criteria of being ventilator-dependent on day 1 and classified as priority 1 critical patients. The sample was taken using an accidental sampling technique. The instrument used is the CPOT pain scale, which consists of four indicators: facial expressions, body movements, muscle tension, and compliance with the ventilator and vocalization (for non-intubated patients). Result: The research results showed that 60% of respondents experienced mild pain, 26.6% experienced moderate pain, and 13.3% experienced severe pain. These differences in pain levels are due to the varying interventions provided to the patients, which impacted physiological responses in the form of vital signs. Implication: It is recommended for nurses to identify the pain scale in patients attached to ventilators and provide psychotherapy to reduce pain so that patients can avoid complications.
