Abstract

Preserving the culture of the Wologai Traditional Village, East Nusa Tenggara by using animation as an information medium to introduce Wologai culture in more depth. This research is focused as an information medium that wants to introduce the culture of the Wologai Traditional Village which is rarely highlighted in the media because of the difficulty of travel access and the remoteness of the village. Concept Art is a tool that can be used as an information medium to introduce the Wologai Traditional Village from the cultural illustrative images visualized in it. The research method uses a qualitative descriptive method with observation instruments and direct interviews with local residents. Wologai culture emphasizes respect for ancestors/elders, accompanied by a belief in unity in diversity. With animation as a medium for conveying information related to culture, the target audience/audience will more easily understand and remember it with the involvement of the five senses in capturing audio and visuals. Implementation in cultural preservation can be reflected in daily activities. In introducing a culture, high accuracy is required in presenting the content contained in 2D animation concept art media to introduce the culture of the Wologai people.

Abstract

An important aspect of every person's life is talent and interest. They not only determine what makes a person unique, but also play an important role in personal development, success, and happiness. If someone lives life according to their interests and talents, they tend to be happier and more fulfilled, and this can help them live a better life overall. If someone has strong talents and interests, then that person can choose the educational program or major that best suits their interests. When we can choose or determine a field that suits our talents and interests, our chances of success in that field are very high. Therefore, this research will discuss the importance of talent and interest in children. In this research the author used qualitative methods. Seeing the many phenomena of majors at college level, it turns out that students are confused about their choices, many of them follow their friends' choices or even their parents' choices. This 2D animation "Robek" shows the story of a child named Ojan whose drawing talent was initially not supported by his parents, but his parents were wrong because their child's talent was useful for many people. This "Robek" animation was made using the frame by frame technique where the animation is made by draw one by one in each frame and then put them together so that a movement occurs which is called animation
