Abstract

AbstractThe Correlation Between Uric Acid and Lipid Profile in Acute Coronary Syndrome Patient of Sanjiwani Hospital GianyarSeveral studies show that high uric acid levels is linking to the incidence of acute coronary syndromes and dyslipidemia that leads to heart disease. The aim of this study is to determine the association between uric acid and lipid profile in acute coronary syndrome patients of Sanjiwani Hospital Gianyar. Cross-sectional analysis is the type of data analysis that is being used in this study and was conducted at the Sanjiwani Hospital, Gianyar, with a total of 45 subjects involved. Spearman correlation test showed that there was a significant positive correlation between uric acid levels and Total Cholesterol (TC) (r = 0.467 and p = 0.001). There was a significant positive correlation between uric acid levels and Low Density Lipoprotein (LDL) (r= 0.348 and p value = 0.019). There was a significant negative correlation between uric acid levels and High Density Lipoprotein (HDL) (r= -0.445 and p = 0.002). There was no significant correlation between uric acid levels and Triglycerides (TG) (r = 0.232 and p = 0.124). It was also found that more than 50% of subjects had uric acid levels in the high category (53.3%), optimal Total Cholesterol (TC) levels (80%), normal High Density Lipoprotein (HDL) levels (57.8%), and optimal Triglycerides (TG) levels (71.1%). Meanwhile, 46.7% of subjects had optimal Low Density Lipoprotein (LDL) levels.

Abstract

An inguinal hernia is a protrusion of abdominal contents from a normal cavity that occurs in the abdominal wall in the inguinal region. Hernias are divided into lateral inguinal hernias and medial inguinal hernias. The incidence of hernia can be influenced by modifiable factors such as obesity, diabetes, smoking, use of immunosuppressants and non-modifiable factors, namely age and gender. Hernias are caused by conditions that cause an intra-abdominal increase such as chronic cough, constipation, heavy lifting, and abdominal malignancy or weakness of the abdominal muscles. The aim of this study was to assess the description of risk factors of inguinal hernia patients at Buleleng Hospital. The method used was descriptive and a cross sectional approach. The number of samples in this study is 45 samples that has met the criteria. Data obtained will be collected, processed, and presented in the form of tables and descriptive narratives. The results in this study showed that the final elderly age group in the range of 56-65 years was 16 (35.6%) subjects, working as laborers were 16 (35.6%) subjects, based on gender, 43 (95) were male. (6%) subjects, and 31 (68.9%) subjects had a history of chronic cough.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus (DM) is chronic disease associated with various complications. Measurement of glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c) can be used as a standard for monitoring and risk indicators for DM complications. Increased levels of Free Fatty Acid (FFA) cause total cholesterol in type 2 DM to increase. Several studies have shown different results regarding the relationship between total cholesterol and HbA1c levels, so researchers are interested in re-examining the correlation of total cholesterol with HbA1c in type 2 DM patients. This research re-examined the correlation of total cholesterol and HbA1c levels in type 2 DM patients. The research was carried out which aimed to determine the correlation of total cholesterol with HbA1c in type 2 DM patients at Tabanan Hospital in the period January 1st – December 31st, 2021. This type of research is cross-sectional analytic observational research from secondary data sources (medical records) taken by consecutive sampling. Then the data was analyzed using the Pearson test through Statistical Product and Service Solutions (SPSS). Based on research starting in August-November 2022, samples that met the inclusion and exclusion criteria were 54 samples. From these samples, the average total cholesterol level was 225 mg/dl and the average HbA1c level was 8.8%. Pearson correlation test results obtained r = 0.371 (weak positive correlation) and p-value = 0.006, therefore it can be stated that total cholesterol and HbA1c levels have a significant relationship in type 2 DM patients.

Abstract

[Relationship between Stress Levels and Fasting Blood Glucose in Type 2 DM Patients at Sanjiwani Hospital Gianyar] Diabetes mellitus is a chronic dissease that causes effects on the metabolic system. In a stressful situation, there is excessive production of the cortisol, which reduces the body's sensitivity to insulin. Cortisol can make glucose difficult to enter cells and accumulate in the blood, increasing blood glucose levels. The purpose of this research is to analyze the correlation between stress levels and fasting blood glucose levels in type 2 diabetes mellitus patients at Sanjiwani Hospital, Gianyar. The method used analytical observational with a cross sectional approach using 95 sample of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus in Sanjiwani Hospital and using a consecutive sampling technique. Data collection using primary sources : a diabetic distress scale questionnaire and secondary data (medical records). Data analysis by spearman test. The characteristics of the research subjects were that the majority the late elderly age range (44.2%), the majority of patients were male (53.7%), their highest education was high school (44.2%), as many as (31.6%) worked as self-employed, and patients had no family history of DM (69.5%). The stress level of the subjects in this study was dominated by severe stress levels (45.3%) almost of subjects' glucose was high (74.7%). The results of the Spearman correlation test analysis obtained a significance value of 0.00 with a significance level of 0.05, which means there is a correlation between stress levels and fasting blood sugar levels in type 2 DM patients at Sanjiwani Hospital. The correlation coefficient figure shows 0.373, meaning the strength of the relationship is weak. The correlation coefficient positive so that the corellation between the variables is one direction, meaning the stress can increase the blood glucose levels.

Abstract

Type 2 diabetes mellitus can cause complications including dyslipidemia. This study was conducted to determine the relationship between HbA1c levels and dyslipidemia in Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus Patients at Sanjiwani Gianyar Hospital. Cross sectional analytic research method was used using secondary data. A total of 81 patients who sought treatment at the Internal Medicine Polyclinic of Sanjiwani Hospital for the period 1 January 2021 - 31 December 2023 were sampled. The results of the analysis using the spearman test with a correlation coefficient value of 0.668 with p = 0.000 (p <0.05) have a strong relationship. The correlation coefficient is positive so that the relationship is unidirectional in both variables, so that if people with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus have high HbA1c levels, the incidence rate of dyslipidaemia will increase. Based on these results, DM patients are advised to check their lipid profile to prevent dyslipidaemia which can increase the risk of cardiovascular complications and worsen overall health conditions.
