Abstract

Kata Kunci: Escherichia Coli Air Sumur Gali ABSTRACT Escherichia coli is an indicator of water pollution, this causes a decrease in the quality of well water, including the number of Escherichia coli in well water beyond the maximum threshold. Escherichia coli content in aged water used by the community has a major role in the transmission of various diseases. The purpose of this study was to determine the content of Escherichia Coli in dug well water and well construction in Poopoh Village, Tombariri District, Minahasa Regency. This type of research is a laboratory-based descriptive survey research. Where the research aims to study the physical and bacteriological quality of Escherichia coli. The study was conducted during April 2021, and the study was conducted in Poopoh Village, Tombariri District, Minahasa Regency and for sample testing carried out at the UPTD of the Regional Health Laboratory of North Sulawesi. Sampling in this study used a purposive sampling technique. The sample in this study amounted to 30. Based on the results of the examination conducted at the Regional Health Laboratory UPTD, it showed that of the 30 dug well water samples, there were 26 (86.7%) samples that met the Escherichia Coli requirements while those who did not meet the requirements were 4 (13 ,3%) sample of dug well water. The construction factor of dug wells in Poopoh Village is based on the results that 11 wells (36.7%) meet the requirements and 19 wells (63.3%), with the existing results it can be concluded that the construction of Poopoh village wells does not meet the requirements. Community activities that produce domestic waste can cause pollution and the entry of heavy metals into the environment. This study aims to determine the content of heavy metals Pb and Zn in water and fish and compare them with the specified threshold value. The research method used is a laboratory-based descriptive survey by examining Pb and Zn in water and fish using the AAS (Atomic Absorption Spectrometry) method. Water samples and samples of tilapia fish (Oreochormis mossambicus) were taken at three points each. The results showed that the Pb content in the water at point 1 = 0.10 mg/l, point 2 = 0.22 mg/l, point 3 = 0.14 mg/l. Pb content in tilapia fish (Oreochormis mossambicus) point 1= 0.61 mg/kg, point 2 = 0.75 mg/l, point 3 = 0.71 mg/l. The content of Zn in water point 1 = 0.03 mg/l, point 2 = 0.19 mg/l, point 3 = 0.21 mg/l. Zn content in tilapia fish (Oreochormis mossambicus) point 1 = 54.71 ppm, point 2 = 107.64 ppm, point 3 = 106.54 ppm. The Pb content in water and fish at all three points has exceeded the threshold value. The Zn content in water and fish at point 1 has not exceeded the threshold value, while the Zn content in water and fish at point 2 and point 3 has exceeded the threshold. It is hoped that the people around the fish ponds will increase their awareness of fish pond cultivation to reduce the pollution that occurs. Keywords: Pb, Zn, Heavy Metal

Abstract

The presence of the heavy metal lead (Pb), which accumulates in water and sediment, will enter into the life of organisms which can have a toxic effect on the organisms in it. This study aimed to analyze the health risks of consuming Mujair fish (Oreochromis Mossambicus) which contains the heavy metal Pb in the river flow of Soyoan Village, Ratatotok District, Southeast Minahasa Regency. The research method was descriptive with an environmental health risk analysis (ARKL) approach. Determination of lead levels in fish, water, and sediments used the Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer method with a graphite furnace. The results showed that the average Pb in Mujair fish was 0.23 mg/kg, the average Pb in water was 1.48 mg/liter, and the average in sediment was 52.98 mg/kg. Pb concentrations in aquatic fish and sediments had exceeded the threshold. The Risk Quotion (RQ) value wasstill below 1 (RQ < 1), meaning that Mujair fish (Oreochromis Mossambicus) in the Soyoan river was still safe for consumption. The ECR value ≤ 10-4 indicated that making risk management was not something that needs to be prioritized. However, the presence of high concentrations was an indicator so that the rate of intake and frequency of exposure can be reduced. In Islamic teachings, it has been explained that damage to the environment due to human actions has an adverse effect on the biota and threatens the surrounding community's health.

Abstract

Background: Intercity bus terminals are a significant source of air pollution, particularly nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions. NOx emissions frequently reach hazardous levels due to excessive vehicle activity, particularly diesel-powered buses, both when idling and accelerating. Long operational duration, high vehicle density during rush hour, and the age of the bus fleet, which is often older than other public vehicles, all have an impact on NOx emission levels. Long-term NOx pollution exposure has a direct influence on health, namely respiratory system diseases such as lung function and respiratory tract infections. Traders, passengers, and those residing near the terminal are all at greater risk of health complications. The study aimed to assess air quality using nitrogen oxide (NOx) measures. To describe the quality of nitrogen oxide air, this method employs an observational descriptive approach based on direct measurements. The investigation was carried out at the Malalayang and Paal Dua bus terminals. Measurements were obtained twice, in the morning and afternoon, with a 6-point scale. Univariate data analysis shows the minimum, maximum, and average values of the research variables. Research Results: The results of the study at the Malalayang terminal at point 2 which is located in the inner part at 11.42 - 12.41 WITA, the measurement results were 5.50 µḡ / nm³, total volume 22.542 nm³ and at the Paal Dua terminal at point 1, at 10.00 - 11.10 WITA, the measurement results were 6.05 µḡ / nm³ with a total volume of 22,475 nm³. Conclusion: The levels of nitrogen oxide (NOx) at the Malalayang and Paal Dua terminals remain below the quality standard set by Indonesian Government Regulation Number 22 of 2021, which supervises the implementation of environmental protection and management with a 1-hour exposure time.
