Abstract

For an educator, it is directed how to utilize this imagination to improve children's creativity in studying. Imaginative play naturally occurs in children, starting when children begin to think concretely until the child becomes an adult, but the habit of imaginative thinking is not maximized, needs to be taught and strengthened throughout his life. One of children's creativity is by drawing and using their imagination. Children need practice in imagining because they also need practice in applying every basic skill in their lives. This research uses a collaborative and participatory action research method (PAR). In this community service activity, the target participants are children aged 6-8 years in the North Jakarta Dharma Suci RPTRA. The results of the training of these activities children tend to be enthusiastic in following the material given. Children tend to be interested in learning more about making drawing, coloring and pop-ups. And it can be seen that children are able to imagine making simple stories with pictures and pop ups added.

Abstract

Recycling is one of the efforts that can be done to save the environment and can be a fun activity to do together. There are so many benefits that can be extracted from recycling activities and of course it will be very valuable for children. 3R (reduce, reuse, recycle) is an innovation in order to provide learning media for early childhood. In addition to learning to take advantage of children's recycling waste, the purpose of this training is also to learn how to sharpen the motor by adding origami elements to the recycling work in the form of piggy bank that has been made. This study uses a collaborative and participatory action research method (PAR), which is a research activity carried out by involving the community so that they feel that they have a stake in the activity program and intends to participate actively in solving community-based problems. This study uses respondents of children aged 7-9 years who are from the Dharma Suci RPTRA located in North Jakarta. The results of this study show that children give positive responses in the development of fine motor skills by making hand movements cutting, sticking and folding. The selection of used milk boxes is quite appropriate, because most of them see and have used milk boxes in each respondent's house. Children love the theme of endangered animals because, these animals are not animals that they can see everyday. The choice of piggy bank as a form of processed processed goods made them enthusiastic to start saving early. Keywords: Children’s Motor, Recycling, Origami

Abstract

AbstrakPerkembangan industri yang semakin pesat membuat para produsen produk mencoba mencari strategi yang tepat dalam menghadapi pesaingnya. Salah satu strategi yang tepat adalah dengan pemanfaatan desain kemasan, dimana desain kemasan merupakan bisnis kreatif yang berkaitan dengan bentuk, struktur, material, warna, dan elemen-elemen desain lainnya dengan informasi produk agar dapat dipasarkan. Hanya saja saat ini banyak kendala dalam pemanfaatannya, salah satunya adalah ketidaktahuan calon pengguna mengenai desain kemasan. Sehingga perlu adanya sebuah media informasi mengenai desain kemasan itu sendiri. Selain permasalahan yang disebutkan, perancangan sebuah buku kemasan memiliki peluang yang cukup baik. Hal ini terlihat dari pertumbuhan program studi Desain Komunikasi Visual di Indonesia yang cukup baik, sehingga mendorong adanya kebutuhan buku informasi kemasan untuk meningkatkan keilmuan dalam desain kemasan. Metode dalam penelitian perancangan ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif deskriptif yang menggambarkan fakta secara sistematis sifat dari suatu objek, dengan desain penelitian tindakan peran serta (penelitian terapan) dengan partisipasi kontraktual. Prosedur penelitian dilakukan dengan mengumpulkan semua data obyek penelitian, yaitu sejarah dan pengenalan kemasan, prinsip kemasan, struktur, material dan dieline hingga studi kasus yang dibahas secara langsung. Hasil dari penelitian perancangan ini sebuah buku kemasan dengan judul “Basic of Packaging” berisikan muatan visual mengenai kemasan dengan menggunakan contoh studi kasus yang diangkat dari kemasan produk lokal.Kata Kunci: buku, desain kemasan, kemasan produk  AbstractThe rapid growth of the industry leads the manufacturers to investigate the right strategy in dealing with competitors. One of the appropriate approaches is packaging design, which deals with the shape, structure, material, color. Thus, it also contains product information to be marketed. However, the ignorance of prospective users regarding the packaging design becomes one of the problems in its application. Therefore, the media information about the packaging design is needed. Aside from the problem has mentioned above, the book of the packaging design becomes a great opportunity. It can be seen from the growth of the Visual Communication Design study program in Indonesia, which encourages the need for a book of packaging design to improve science in that field. Hence, a descriptive qualitative method is applied, which systematically describes the facts of the nature of an object, and it is part of action research with contractual participation. The research procedure carried out by collecting all the data of research objects, namely the history and introduction of packaging, packaging principles, structure, material, Dieline, and case studies that discussed directly. The result of this research is a book of packaging that contains visual art with the title "Basic of Packaging" that uses a sample of case studies from local product packaging.Keywords: book, packaging design, product packaging

Abstract

AbstrakYouTube memperkenalkan YouTube Kids pada tahun 2015, menciptakan platform menonton yang lebih aman untuk anak-anak. Khususnya, "Baby Shark" milik Pinkfong pada tahun 2016 dan "Bath Song" milik Cocomelon pada tahun 2018 telah mengumpulkan banyak penonton. Aspek menarik dari animasi ini adalah penggunaan warna, yang dikenal sebagai alat bagi anak-anak untuk mengekspresikan emosi. Urgensi penelitian ini muncul dari dampak media digital terhadap anak-anak, khususnya YouTube Kids, yang menekankan peran warna dalam membentuk respons emosional dalam animasi. Kemajuan teknologi yang pesat menggarisbawahi perlunya mengeksplorasi dampak emosional warna. Studi ini menganalisis palet warna video untuk melihat pengaruhnya terhadap emosi penonton. Dengan menggunakan pengamatan kualitatif berdasarkan teori warna Eko Nugroho dan psikologi warna Molly E. Holzschlag, penelitian ini mengungkap bahwa "Baby Shark" menggunakan warna dominan panas dan dingin, sedangkan "Bath Song" cenderung ke arah nada netral. Khususnya, warna panas dan dingin yang lebih menonjol menarik perhatian, tercermin dalam penayangan "Baby Shark" yang lebih tinggi. Temuan ini memandu para pembuat konten yang ingin merancang konten anak-anak yang beresonansi secara emosional, serta para pendidik dan orang tua dalam menavigasi dampak stimulasi visual terhadap emosi anak-anak. Kata Kunci: anak, animasi, video, warna, YouTube AbstractYouTube introduced YouTube Kids in 2015, creating a safer viewing platform for children. Notably, Pinkfong's 2016 "Baby Shark" and Cocomelon's 2018 "Bath Song" have garnered substantial viewership. An intriguing facet of these animations is their use of color, recognized as a tool for children to express emotions. The urgency of this research arises from digital media's impact on children, particularly YouTube Kids, emphasizing the role of color in shaping emotional responses in animation. Rapid technological progress underscores the need to explore color's emotional impact. This study analyzes video color palettes to discern their effect on audience emotions. Using qualitative observations based on Eko Nugroho's color theory and Molly E. Holzschlag's color psychology, the study unveils that "Baby Shark" employs dominant hot and cold colors, while "Bath Song" leans towards neutral tones. Notably, the more prominent hot and cold colors attract attention, reflected in "Baby Shark's" higher viewership. These findings guide content creators aiming to design emotionally resonant children's content, along with educators and parents navigating the impact of visual stimulation on children's emotions. Keywords: animation, children, color, video, YouTube

Abstract

Indonesia is known as a country that has cultural diversity. This is an asset for Indonesia, especially in the tourism sector in utilizing local culture as an attraction for tourists. One of them is the use of local culinary culture. As for the design of this thesis, it raises the superior culinary culture of the city of Manado, a city known for its cuisine that is rich in spices. The use of illustrations in the book can give its own emotional impression to the readers, this statement is supported by an online questionnaire that has been randomly distributed to 110 respondents. This book is intended for teenagers aged 18-25 years to increase their knowledge of other regional cultures in Indonesia. With this research, it is hoped that the awareness to maintain Indonesian culture is an important thing for teenagers aged 18-25 years to increase.

Abstract

The appropriate utilization of typography holds substantial significance as it directly influences the visual perception of a brand. Typography serves as a visual manifestation of a brand, wherein the distinctive characteristics of each letter reflect the brand's overall image. Similarly, within the domain of packaging design, typography assumes a critical role in upholding brand identity. Recognizing the urgency of this matter, the present study endeavors to develop an informative compendium that exhibits the application of typography in packaging design through visually captivating presentations, complemented by case studies of well-known brands prevalent in the Indonesian market. Employing the design thinking methodology, which entails problem-solving through product development, this study culminates in the production of a book that showcases typographical content presented in an uncluttered layout, emphasizing the significance of typography while elucidating its contents. The study presents its findings in the form of a book showing typographical content, meticulously designed with a clean layout that highlights the exploration of typography within the book's contents. The significance of this research stems from the demand for comprehensive and visually engaging resources that demonstrate the application of typography in packaging design, aligning with the evolving requirements of the digital economy industry and the educational needs of Visual Communication Design students in Indonesia.

Abstract

Mental health, is a health issue that is no less important than physical health, but unfortunately public awareness of mental health issues is still very lacking. The lack of public awareness of mental health disorders is influenced by several factors, where one of the most influential factors is the low level of public knowledge about mental health, so that there is an error in the public's perspective on the survivors of mental health disorders themselves. This of course can lead to mistreatment of survivors of mental health disorders, potentially stigmatizing treatments. Based on these data, this study aims to use the right learning media to change the public's perspective on mental health disorders in order to reduce the existing stigmatization. The method used is the design thinking method which is a method of developing a product that begins with efforts to answer problems that exist in society. The results of this study a learning media in the form of video motion graphics with cartoon visual style and a way of delivering information with an emotional and rational approach has its own charm for the audience.

Abstract

Makanan emping melinjo ditetapkan sebagai makanan tradisional khas Pandeglang, Banten karena besar potensinya sebagai daerah penghasil dan pengembangan usaha. Kesempatan tersebut dimanfaatkan oleh Bapak Saepulloh untuk mendirikan usaha “Emping Melinjo Enam Bersaudara”, namun dari hasil wawancara yang dilakukan peneliti menyimpulkan bahwa Emping Melinjo Enam tidak memiliki identitas visual brand seperti logo, fotografi, tidak memenuhi standarisasi kemasan yang baik, serta tidak memiliki strategi pemasaran yang baik sehingga tidak terdapat diferensiasi yang mampu menembus target pasar. Perancangan ulang identitas visual dalam penelitian ini menerapkan metode Design Thinking. Pengumpulan data dengan penyebaran kuesioner online kepada 101 responden berusia 10-41 tahun yang berdomisili di Jakarta. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah penentuan terhadap segmentasi pasar yang akan dituju, identitas visual yaitu logo dan media utama seperti kemasan primer, sekunder, dan tersier, serta media pendukung lainnya yang sesuai dengan segmentasi pasar, serta sesuai dengan standarisasi kemasan yang baik sehingga mampu meningkatkan nilai merek dan kesadaran akan merek yang pada akhirnya muncul minat beli konsumen terhadap produk.

Abstract

Di zaman yang sudah semakin berkembang, banyak sekali jenis makanan yang dapat kita nikmati salah satunya yaitu es krim. Makanan tradisi dari budaya barat ini, kini dikenal dan dikonsumsi oleh masyarakat di seluruh dunia. Di Jakarta terdapat sebuah toko es krim langganan keluarga Bung Karno dan sudah ada sejak tahun 1951. Tetapi brand awareness pada brand ini semakin jauh menurun karena banyaknya kompetitor yang lebih laku dan lebih modern. Permasalahannya terletak pada brand yang tidak memiliki kedai dan tidak dijual secara ritel, serta permasalahannya terletak pada kemasannya yang masih tertinggal zaman dan media promosinya yang kurang menarik terutama untuk generasi yang lebih muda. Berdasarkan paparan data diatas brand Ice Cream Tjanang perlu melakukan brand rejuvenation sehingga nantinya brand tersebut dapat lebih dikenal ke generasi muda saat ini. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah merancang brand rejuvenation yang tepat untuk Ice Cream Tjanang dengan media utama brand identitas dan desain kemasan baru. Penelitian ini akan menggunakan jenis penelitian kualitatif dan metode perancangan Design Thinking. Hasil penelitian berupa karya rancangan brand rejuvenation serta media pendukung yang tepat dan untuk menginformasikan perubahan dari brand Ice cream Tjanang. Hasil penelitian berupa karya rancangan brand rejuvenation serta media pendukung yang tepat dan sesuai dengan perkembangan zaman saat ini.
