Abstract

Learning resources in the form of textbooks and LKS often make students feel bored during learning activities, because these two learning sources often only contain formulas and material, without any comprehensive explanation of mathematical concepts. Therefore, there is a need for innovation in the learning resources used in schools. This research is aimed at developing handouts for class VIII on flat sided of three-dimensional material based on the Realistic Mathematics Learning approach. This type of research is research and development (Research and Development) with the 4-D model development method by Thiagarajan, namely: 1) Define, 2) Design, 3) Develop, and 4) Disseminate. The results of the material expert's validation of the handout showed an average value of 0.8106 with high validity criteria and was declared feasible. The results of the media expert's validation of the handout showed an average value of 0.8698 with high validity criteria and was declared feasible. From the post-test results of the experimental class, it was found that almost all students passed. The results of the Independent Sample T-Test at the testing stage for the use of the experimental class showed a value of 0.034, thus a significance value of <0.05 was obtained, which means that there was a significant difference in improving student learning outcomes between the experimental class and the control class. This is in line with the students' responses at the usage trial stage obtaining a percentage of 79% with the criteria that almost all students gave a positive response to the handout.

Abstract

The development of information and communication technology in the 21st century spurs the need for digital learning systems to improve the quality of education. This research aims to develop a Learning Management System (LMS) Moodle with additional features that support mathematics learning at the high school level. The research method used in this research is the research and development (R&D) method, with the model used being the Four-D Model or adapted into a 4-D model. Based on the research results, the features developed include typing mathematical formulas using MathType by Wiris, graph visualization, and GeoGebra-based simulations. The results of the trial show that this additional feature increases the effectiveness of mathematics learning and the efficiency of students' learning time. Developing an LMS with interactive features supports a more dynamic and meaningful learning process.

Abstract

The SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus can spread through contact with contaminated surfaces. The use of hand sanitizer is claimed to reduce the risk of transmission. For this reason, this study aims to develop a model of the spread of COVID-19 using the SEIR model with the use of hand sanitizer for infected individuals. The individual population is divided into six compartments, namely two compartments for susceptible individuals who using hand sanitizer and not, one compartment for exposed individuals, two compartments for infected individuals who using hand sanitizer and not, and one compartment for individuals died and recovered. The results obtained two equilibrium points: the disease-free and endemic equilibrium point, and also the basic reproduction number. The existence of a disease-free equilibrium point is unconditional, while the endemic there exist when the basic reproduction number is more than one. Stability analysis of the disease-free equilibrium point is locally asymptotic stable when the basic reproduction number is less than one. Numerical simulations carried out also strengthen them. Finally, the results of basic reproduction number sensitivity analysis show that the basic reproduction number is strongly influenced by contact of the susceptible individuals with exposed and infected individuals, neglecting of hand sanitizer use, mortality and cure rates.

Abstract

Purpose: The research aims to develop a learning management system (LMS) for multi-platform use as a mathematics learning medium. Methodology: The methodology employed follows a development model consisting of definition, design, and development stages. During the design phase, an analysis of teachers' and students' needs in mathematics learning using LMS, particularly focusing on materials and functions, is conducted. Additionally, a needs analysis for LMS is performed at this stage. Subsequently, during the design phase, the LMS characteristics and features of the selected system are outlined. In the development stage, feasibility tests and field trials are conducted, incorporating feedback from experts, including program experts (programmers), language experts, and teacher practitioners. Findings: The findings indicate a feasibility level of 93.44%, as assessed by media, material, and language experts. Significance: This suggests its high suitability and effectiveness for implementation.

Abstract

Sebuah peta dikatakan ideal jika dilengkapi dengan pewarnaan wilayah sehingga dapat dengan mudah dipahami oleh pembaca. Pewarnaan peta lebih efektif jika dapat memberikan warna seminimum mungkin agar wilayah-wilayah yang berbatasan dapat diberikan warna yang berbeda. Pewarnaan peta yang seperti ini dapat diselesaikan dengan pewarnaan graf. Algoritma Welsh-Powell dapat digunakan untuk mewarnai simpul pada graf sehingga mampu memberikan jumlah warna minimum. Selain itu, algoritma Welsh-Powell juga dapat menentukan wilayah strategis dari sebuah peta atau wilayah. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain studi pustaka dilakukan dengan mengkaji berbagai sumber referensi yang berkaitan dengan pewarnaan graf. Tujuan penelitian yaitu untuk mengetahui implementasi algoritma Welsh-Powell dalam pewarnaan graf pada peta Indonesia, jumlah warna minimum untuk mewarnai peta Indonesia, dan wilayah provinsi yang paling strategis di Indonesia. Penelitian ini menghasilkan sebuah peta dengan tata warna minimum berjumlah 4 warna, yakni merah, biru, kuning, dan hijau dengan bilangan kromatik χ(G)=4. Pewarnaan peta Indonesia menggunakan algoritma Welsh-Powell menghasilkan wilayah Provinsi Jambi sebagai provinsi strategis karena memiliki derajat tertinggi, yaitu 6 atau d(v6)=6.

Abstract

Kecanduan gadget pada anak usia sekolah dasar merupakan  tantangan multidimensional di era digital, berdampak pada kesehatan fisik dan mental, prestasi akademik, serta kehidupan sosial dan spiritual mereka. Di Desa Dawuan, Kecamatan Tengah Tani, Kabupaten Cirebon, fenomena ini muncul akibat penggunaan gadget yang berlebihan, sehingga diperlukan intervensi strategis berbasis keluarga. Tujuan Program pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah mengurangi kecanduan gadget melalui peningkatan peran orang tua dalam pendampingan dan edukasi anak. Metode yang digunakan meliputi tiga pendekatan utama: (1) penyuluhan literasi digital guna meningkatkan pemahaman teknologi yang bijak, (2) kegiatan detoksifikasi keluarga (family detox) yang mempererat hubungan emosional melalui aktivitas non-gadget; dan (3) pelatihan pemanfaatan gadget secara produktif dengan penggunaan aplikasi edukatif dan pengembangan keterampilan digital anak. Program ini melibatkan 32 orang tua siswa dari semua sekolah dasar di desa Dawuan selama empat minggu, dengan desain partisipatif dan evaluasi berbasis pretesr-posttest serta observasi terstruktur. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa 80% peserta mengalami peningkatan pemahaman dalam mengelola waktu layar (screen time) anak, yang diukur melalui kuesioner literasi digital dan jurnal harian keluarga. Selain itu, terjadi peningkatan frekuensi interaksi keluarga dan penurunan durasi penggunaan gadget yang tidak produktif. Implikasi program ini berkontribusi pada pencapaian Tujuan Pembangunan Berkelanjutan (SDGs), khususnya dalam aspek pendidikan berkualitas, pengurangan ketimpangan, serta kesehatan dan kesejahteraan. Temuan ini menegaskan pentingnya peran strategis orang tua dalam menumbuhkan literasi digital yang sehat dan menciptakan keseimbangan aktivitas anak di era digital.

Abstract

Critical thinking can be surely taught and practiced for all educational graders. However, in educational field, it is still few teachers who facilitate students’ mathematics critical thinking. The aims of this study is to know whether the implementation of practical learning method significantly affects students’ mathematics critical thinking skills in learning mathematic at junior high school. The significances of the study are to give students’ active role in learning process, to improve students’ comprehension towards mathematic concept, and to upgrade students’ mathematics critical thinking. This research method is experiment method with design path analysis. The population was taken from all eighth graders which are 265 students of SMP N 3 Sumber period 2014/2015. The, the random sampling was used to gain 44 students of VIII E grade. The technique of data collection including questionnaire and essay test was used. The results of questionnaire showed that 25 or 57 % students gave responses very positively toward the implementation of practical learning method. Then, 19 or 43% students gave positive response toward the implementation of practical learning method. The result of t-test showed that there is a linier relationship between practical learning method and mathematics critical thinking with  = 1,341 X. Coefficient with positive response means that there is a significant relationship between practical learning method and mathematics critical thinking by implementing practical learning methods very often may improve students’ mathematics critical thinking. According to the result of t-test, it is showed that taccount = 6,509 > ttabel = 2,020. It can be concluded that the implementation of practical learning method significantly affect students’ mathematics critical thinking at VIII E grade of SMP Negeri 3 Sumber Kabupaten Cirebon.Keywords : Practical Learning Methods, Critical Thinking Skills

Abstract

Salah satu faktor yang dapat mempengaruhi sumber daya manusia (SDM) adalah pendidikan. Salah satu mata pelajaran yang diberikan dari awal proses pendidikan adalah pelajaran matematika. Matematika merupakan salah satu mata pelajaran yang sangat penting. Pada kenyataannya matematika menjadi salah satu mata pelajaran yang paling tidak disukai para siswa. Salah satu cabang matematika yang diajarkan di sekolah adalah geometri. Kenyataan di lapangan menunjukkan bahwa materi geometri kurang dikuasai oleh sebagian besar siswa.Salah satu faktor yang akan diteliti adalah tingkat kemampuan berpikir geometri siswa. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah: untuk mengetahui tingkat berpikir geometri siswa, untuk mengetahui kemampuan siswa dalam mengerjakan soal pada materi garis dan sudut dan untuk mengetahui pengaruh antara tingkat kemampuan berpikir geometri (teori Van Hiele) siswa dengan kemampuan siswa mengerjakan soal pada materi garis dan sudut. Tingkat kemampuan berpikir geometri adalah kedudukan atau posisi siswa berdasarkan pada kemampuan siswa untuk menangkap serta mampu mengungkapkan pola–pola visual.Salah satu teori yang yang membahas masalah ini adalah teori Van Hiele. Kemampuan mengerjakan soal adalah kapasitas atau kecakapan individu dalam mengerjakan atau memecahkan pertanyaan. Materi garis dan sudut adalah salah satu materi yang di ajarkan dalam mata pelajaran matematika, khususnya pada kelas tujuh (VII). Peneletian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan one-shot casestudy. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes yang berupa tes essay. Penelitian ini dilakukan di kelas VII SMP Negeri 1 Ciledug, dengan jumlah populasi sebanyak 358 siswa dan jumlah sampel sebanyak 40 siswa. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa tingkat kemampuan berpikir geometri siswa kelas VII di SMP Negeri 1 Ciledug bervariasi, yaitu 13 siswa atau 32,5% siswa berada pada tingkat 1 atau tahap pengenalan, 22 siswa atau 55% siswa berada pada tingkat 2 atau tahap analisis, 5 siswa atau 12,5% siswa berada pada tingkat 3 atau tahap pengurutan serta belum ada siswa yang berada pada tingkat 4 (tahap deduksi) dan tingkat 5 (tahap rigor). Kemampuan siswa dalam mengerjakan soal pada materi garis dan sudut termasuk dalam kategori baik.Sebanyak 21 siswa atau 52,5% siswa mendapat nilai di atas KKM yang ditetapkan di sekolah tersebut. Berdasarkan perhitungan analisis regresi, dapat disimpulkan bahwa pengaruh tingkat kemampuan geometri siswa terhadap kemampuan siswa mengerjakan soal garis dan sudut sebesar 60,6% dan selebihnya dipengaruhi faktor lain. Karena thitung>ttabel (7,651 > 2,023), maka tingkat berpikir geometri siswa mempunyai pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap kemampuan siswa dalam mengerjakan soal garis dan sudut, dengan persamaan regresi yang dihasilkan adalah Ŷ = 41,189 + 28,951 . Kata Kunci : berpikir geometri, teori van Hiele

Abstract

Tulisan ini membahas kajian sifat-sifat modul P-Bézout melalui idealisasi. Modul P-Bézout pada tulisan ini hanya berupa modul Bézout. Kajian sifat-sifat tersebut dilihat dari sisi kecukupan sebagai bahan ajar perkuliahan Teori Gelanggang dan dari sisi pembentukan karakter mahasiswa. Pola penyampaian dalam proses penguasan materi berbanding lurus dengan pertumbuhan karakter positif mahasiswa khususnya berupa sifat kritis dan kreatif sebagai titik tolak terbentuknya pribadi guru yang mandiri dan berwibawa karena mampu memberikan kebutuhan siswa dari sisi materi dan kepribadian.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to mapped the higher order thinking skills of students in solving PISA and TIMSS standards based test item based on indicators that had been compiled, as one of the effort to determine the right thing to do to increase the quality of education. The indicators in this research were the ability of analysis, evaluation, and creation. This research use a descriptive qualitative and quantitative approach. The data collection methods in this research were documentation, test, and interview. From 71 students spread across many Junior High Islamic Scoolls in Cirebon city, 2 students classified as having high order thinking skills with moderate level. Students in moderate level are found to be able to perform analysis, evaluation, and creation well in resolving some of the problems. Furthermore, 69 students are not able to perform analytical skills, evaluation, and creation well in solving all the problems, so they are considered to have low level in high order thinking skill. The difference of the student’s ability due to the lack of motivation students and teachers in improving the ability of HOTS in learning. An increase in HOTS of students can be done to improve standards evaluation, improve the quality of the process and the result of learning, as well as increase the motivation students and teachers. This research can be applied to measure student’s high order thinking skill in order to increase  the quality of education according to international standards.
