Abstract

During the COVID-19 pandemic, SME in Indonesia became one type of business that was able to adapt and survive and even become a solution for improving the national economy. Fintech has supported SME to develop their business through collaboration with e-commerce partners. This is very helpful for SME during the Covid-19 pandemic. In increasing the capacity of SME actors towards fintech, it is necessary to provide permanent assistance such as digital training. It is intended that actors have digital skills which are expected to have an impact on their financial capabilities. Ulak Banding Village is one of the villages in South Sumatra, Ogan Ilir Regency where SME in the village still lack information about fintech. The problem of SME in Ulak Banding Village in terms of financing can be overcome with capital assistance from peer to peer (P2P) lending and crowdfunding. As well as to increase revenue using digital payment transfers through digital wallet applications, marketplaces, and social media. The training participants are expected to play an active role in increasing capital and expanding their business and transmitting the knowledge they have acquired to other SME.

Abstract

Indonesia, the largest archipelagic country in the world with rich marine biodiversity, has significant potential for developing a blue economy encompassing aquaculture, sustainable fisheries, and maritime tourism. However, if not managed sustainably, these activities could increase CO2 emissions. Indonesia is also among the world's highest emitters of greenhouse gases, largely due to deforestation, forest burning for agriculture, and reliance on fossil fuels in the energy sector. Given global commitments to reducing emissions and mitigating climate change, this research explores how the blue economy and the transition to renewable energy can contribute to lowering CO2 emissions. This study examines both short- and long-term impacts using the Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) approach. The findings reveal that while increased aquaculture production initially reduces CO2 emissions due to efficiency gains and environmentally friendly technologies, its long-term effects are more complex and may lead to higher emissions. On the other hand, renewable energy consumption significantly reduces CO2 emissions in the short and long term. Conversely, higher energy intensity contributes to increased CO2 emissions, which can be mitigated through improved energy efficiency.

Abstract

This study investigates the economies of scale and efficiency of small-scale capture fisheries, as well as to know how the socio-economic variable influencing the small-scale capture fisheries business in the Kurau village, Central Bangka district. The approach used is a quantitative method by applying multiple linear regression models to adopt the Cobb-Douglas production function. The study found that the scale-economies condition in the small-scale fisheries is decreasing return to scale. We also found the results of allocative efficiency in this small-scale fisheries business are relatively inefficient. Other findings of model estimation indicated that the variables of capital, labor, and fishing distance have a positive and significant effect, while the variables of age, experience, and education level of fishermen have no significant effect on small-scale fisheries production. The main factor that is an obstacle for local fishermen is technology, therefore technology assistance and support from the government are needed as a policy to improve small-scale capture fisheries business and fishermen welfare.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the factors that influence cash waqf in Palembang City. This research was conducted in Palembang City with an unknown population, so we used Lemeshow formula to decide the respondents who did a cash waqf and were obtained by distributing questionnaires. Multiple linear regression is used in this study. Based on the results of data analysis, it shows that simultaneously all independent variables such as income, education, technology or media information, and religiosity have a positive and significant effect on cash waqf. Partially income, technology or media information, and religiosity have a positive and significant effect on cash waqf, while education has a positive but not significant effect. The results of this study are expected to encourage the potential of cash waqf to increase economic growth. Although cash waqf is not an obligation, special regulations in the form of cash waqf recommendations, especially for workers, are expected to encourage someone’s interest in doing cash waqf.
