Abstract

Pondok Pesantren Darul Muttaqin yang terletak di Kecamatan Junrejo, Kota Batu merupakan pesantren dengan misi memberikan layanan pendidikan non-profit. Sampai saat ini biaya operasional pesantren masih sangat bergantung pada donatur. Satu-satunya bidang usaha yang dimiliki oleh Pesantren Darul Muttaqin adalah usaha bengkel Abdurrahman Bin Auf (ABA) untuk mendukung operasional pesantren tetapi belum dapat menjadikan pesantren dapat mandiri secara ekonomi. Oleh karena itu, pengelola pondok pesantren Darul Muttaqin sangat ingin mengembangkan usahanya di bidang lain. Metode pelaksanaan pengabdian menggabungkan aspek pelatihan dan penelitian lapangan untuk memberikan pemahaman kepada peserta tentang suatu topik tertentu. Kendala yang dihadapi adalah keterbatasan keterampilan, ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi. Kegiatan Doktor Mengabdi bertujuan untuk memberikan pelatihan pembuatan produk personal care berbasis minyak atsiri lokal kepada mitra dalam bentuk produk sabun dan Sampo. Pelaksanaan dilakukan dalam tiga tahap, yaitu persiapan pelaksanaan, pemberian materi dan praktik pembuatan, serta monitoring dan evaluasi. Kegiatan telah terlaksana dengan baik, hal ini ditunjukkan dengan adanya respon dari peserta pelatihan sedikit menunjukkan ketidakpuasan, yaitu sebesar 4%, dan juga kepuasan sekitar 52%.  Melalui kegiatan ini, Diharapkan ada keberlanjutan mengenai mengomersialisasikan hasil produksi dari pondok pesantren, sehingga dapat memberikan nilai tambah dalam ekonomi pondok pesantren.

Abstract

The greenhouse effect, which is a global issue, can provide benefits in the agricultural sector, especially in the processing of essential oils, which require drying raw materials before being purified. This is necessary to increase process efficiency, one of which is processing kaffir lime leaves. Drying is generally done in a simple way, but it has problems such as high-water content (approximately 15%), unstable weather, and slow drying speeds that cause leaf damage and fungus affecting essential oil quality. The solution is to utilize suitable technology, such as a greenhouse system. The study compares greenhouse drying methods with forced airflow and open sun drying, focusing on moisture content. The moisture content was measured using a moisture balance at each drying time. The result is that Greenhouse Force Circulation (GFC) drying effectively decreases kaffir lime leaves' moisture compared to Open Sun Drying (OSD), as evidenced by its higher drying rate.

Abstract

Some floor cleaner products on the market contain antimicrobial agents that are harmful to humans and the environment, such as benzalkonium chloride. Therefore, searching for a new antimicrobial agent that is relatively safe is a significant challenge. In this study, we investigated the best formula for making floor cleaner using citronella oil and gum rosin as antimicrobial agents. Its antimicrobial activity against Salmonella thypi was investigated and compared with that of a commercial floor cleaner containing benzalkonium chloride. Five concentrations and ratios of citronella oil and gum rosin were investigated. The quality of floor cleaner in terms of pH range and the stability of the emulsion in hard water was assessed according to SNI 06-1842-1995. The results showed that all formulas met the pH range required by SNI, except for formulas containing citronella oil alone. The emulsion in hard water was stable for all formulas. The antimicrobial activity increased with increasing concentrations of antimicrobial agents. Citronella oil exhibited higher antimicrobial activity than gum rosin. Benzalkonium chloride showed higher microbial activity than gum rosin but lower than citronella oil. The combination of citronella oil and gum rosin showed higher microbial activity by 1.1–2.4 times than formulas containing benzalkonium chloride. The optimum floor cleaner formula (a concentration of citronella oil and gum rosin of 2% with a ratio of 1:1) has an inhibition zone diameter of 22.2 mm.

Abstract

Kegiatan pondok pesantren tidak lepas dari penggunaan produk sanitasi untuk menjaga kesehatan dan kebersihan. Salah satu produk sanitasi yaitu hand sanitizer. Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian ini yaitu melatih analisis kelayakan ekonomi produk sanitasi dalam upaya self-sufficiency di pondok pesantren Bahrul Maghfiroh Malang. Melalui pengabdian ini diharapkan kesehatan dan kebersihan santri terjaga dan dapat menciptakan pondok mandiri secara finansial. Pengabdian ini dilakukan daring dengan memberikan pelatihan formulasi hand sanitizer dan analisis kelayakan ekonomi meliputi perhitungan harga jual produk dan kriteria investasi. Berdasarkan simulasi hasil perhitungan, didapatkan harga jual hand sanitizer kemasan 100 ml yaitu Rp 11.528,00 dengan laba 5% dari harga pokok penjualan. Dengan interest rate (IR) sebesar 4,25%, didapatkan nilai NPV sebesar Rp 235.841.940,31 dan IRR sebesar 58,82%, dimana investasi produk sanitasi ini dikategorikan visible (layak) karena NPV > 0 dan IRR > IR. ROI yang didapatkan sebesar 94,89% dengan PBP selama 1,05 tahun. Capaian pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian ini dapat dilihat dari kepuasan mitra dengan hasil kuesioner rata-rata kepuasan sekitar 74% responden menjawab setuju terhadap kebermanfaatan kegiatan ini. Oleh karena itu, kegiatan analisis kelayakan ekonomi produk sanitasi perlu dilakukan secara kontinyu dan bisa dikembangkan untuk produk sanitasi yang lain.
