Abstract

Stock price movements that fluctuate and follow a stochastic process will make it difficult for investors to start investing. For that, we need a stochastic mathematical model. The Brownian geometry motion model is one of the stochastic models that can be used to display the condition of a stock's price movement. Investment is related to the rate of return (return) and the risk obtained. The higher the rate of return obtained, the higher the risk obtained. Therefore, a portfolio calculation is needed, one of which is using the Markowitz model. The Markowitz model can be used to determine the optimal portfolio. The purpose of this study is to model stock prices and form an optimal portfolio. The stock price data used are BBRI, TLKM, and ADRO for the period from 1 July 2021 to 31 August 2022. The results obtained from this study are that there are three portfolio preferences. If investors like high risk to get high returns, then the combined allocation of funds for BBRI, TLKM and ADRO shares is 10.51%, 42.05% and 47.44% respectively. If investors do not like high risk but still want to get a return that is balanced with risk, then the combination of fund allocation for shares of BBRI, TLKM and ADRO is 22.62%, 46.63% and 30.75%, respectively. If the investor chooses minimum risk, the combined allocation of BBRI, TLKM and ADRO shares is 34.73%, 51.21% and 14.06%, respectively.

Abstract

This study aims to model the distribution pattern of oil spills in high seas with the influence of wind movements. The mathematical model is derived from the random walk process of the oil spill particles by using a probability measure on a unit circle with the help of Laplace and Fourier transform . The solution to the model is also obtained by using Laplace and the Fourier transform. Based on the analysis of the solution of the model, the oil spill tends to spread in the direction of wind movement.. The speed and direction of the wind movement affect the speed and direction of the spread of the oil spill particles. The larger the speed of wind movement, the faster the oil particles movement.

Abstract

21st-century   education emphasises the importance of providing students opportunities to foster creative thinking, discover new solutions, and apply concepts to everyday life. One practical approach to encourage creative thinking during lessons is engaging materials or media, such as student worksheets (LKPD). This study aims to develop a mathematics teaching tool, specifically a student worksheet using the canva application based on creative thinking for eighth-grade statistics, which is both valid and practical. This research utilises a Research and Development (R&D) approach, employing the ADDIE model. The ADDIE development model includes five stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Data analysis incorporates both qualitative and quantitative data. According to assessments from content and media experts, the developed LKPD was rated valid with an average score of 3.2. Student feedback surveys yielded a score of 3.25 (perfect), while teacher feedback surveys received a score of 3.47 (very good). Overall, the average score from student and teacher feedback was 3.36 (very good), indicating that the LKPD is practical for teaching. The developed student worksheet using the Canva application based on creative thinking for eighth-grade statistics is categorised as valid and practical for educational use.

Abstract

Abstract

In this paper, we consider the boundedness of the operator families in whole space for Navier-Lame model problem in bounded domain of N dimensional Euclidean space (N≥2). To find the boundedness of the operator families, first of all we construct model problem in the form of the resolvent problem by using Laplace transform. Then, using Fourier transform, we get the solution formula of the model problem. In this paper, we use the qualitative methods to construct solution formula of velocity (u). This step is fundamental stage to find the well-posedness of the model problem. As we known that fluid motion can be described in partial differential equation (PDE). Essential point in PDE are finding existence and uniqueness of the model problem. One methods of investigating the well-posedness is R-boundedness of the solution operator families of the model problem. We can find the R-boundedness of the solution operator families not only in whole-space, half-space, bent-half space and in general domain. In this paper we investigate the R-boundedness of the solution operator families only in whole space. By using this R-boundedness, we can find that the multipliers which form of the operator families are bounded with some positive constant.

Abstract

Encouraging the use of the independent curriculum emphasizes flexibility and student-centered learning. The development of a contextual e-module provides a solution to facilitate relevant and interactive mathematics learning, particularly in statistics for eighth-grade students. This e-module is designed based on students' daily experiences, making the material easier to understand and promoting independent learning. The research method used is Research and Development (RD) with the 4D model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate). Validation results from the subject matter and media experts indicate that the contextual e-module in mathematics learning on statistics for eighth grade is valid. Practicality tests through teacher and student response questionnaires show highly practical results, with average scores of 3.6 and 3.5 on a maximum practicality scale of 4.0. In conclusion, the contextual e-module in mathematics learning on statistics for eighth grade has proven valid and practical for use in mathematics education and can serve as an effective and relevant learning resource tailored to students' current needs and conditions.
