Abstract

AbstrakPenelitian tentang “Perbandingan Kandungan Zat Gizi Ikan Mujair Oreochromis mossambica Danau Universitas Hasanuddin Makassar dan Ikan Danau Mawang Gowa” telah dilakukan pada bulan Mei 2016. Tujuan penelitian, yaitu: mengetahui perbandingan kandungan gizi ikan mujair O. mossambica asal danau Unhas (Universitas Hasanuddin) Makassar dan ikan mujair asal danau Mawang, Gowa. Sulawesi Selatan. Penelititan ini bersifat kualitatif. Pengukuran kadar protein menggunakan metode Kjeldhal, kadar lemak menggunakan metode Soxhlet, kadar karbohidrat menggunakan metode Luff Scrhoorll dan kadar mineral dengan menggunakan metode ASS dan Spektrofotometer UV-Vis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan besar kandungan gizi ikan mujair asal danau Unhas, yaitu: Protein 14.16 g, Lemak 0.51 g, dan Karbohidrat 0.27 g, sedangkan kandungan gizi ikan mujair asal danau Mawang., yaitu Protein : 11.95 g, Lemak : 0.16 g, Karbohidrat : 0.18 g. Kandungan mineral ikan Mujair asal danau Unhas., yaitu: Kalsium 2.93 mg, Phosfat 370 mg, Besi 0.61 mg, sedangkan kandungan mineral ikan mujair asal danau Mawang, yaitu: Kalsium 4.46 mg, Phosfat 490 mg, dan Besi 3.49 mg.Kata kunci : Ikan mujair Oreochromis mossambica, nilai gizi, danau Unhas, danau Mawang.

Abstract

Penelitian Pemanfaatan Limbah Sayur Kubis Brassica oleracea dan Buah Pepaya Carica papaya Sebagai Pakan Cacing Tanah Lumbricus rubellus sudah dilakukan selama dua bulan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pertumbuhan cacing tanah pada tiga jenis pakan yaitu kotoran sapi, limbah sayur kubis, dan limbah buah papaya. Limbah sayur kubis dan limbah buah papaya difermentasikan selama tujuh hari. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen dengan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL), tiga perlakuan dan lima ulangan. Pengamatan dilakukan setiap dua minggu selama delapan minggu. Data dianalisis dengan analisis varians (ANOVA) dan dilanjutkan dengan uji Duncan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan perlakuan dari limbah buah pepaya mempunyai nilai pertumbuhan berat 0.16 – 0.20 g, limbah sayur kubis dengan berat 0.12-0.14 g, dan kotoran sapi dengan berat 0.10 – 0.12 g. Pertumbuhan panjang dari limbah buah pepaya yaitu 0.9 -1.2 cm, limbah sayur kubis dengan panjang 0.89 – 0.99 cm, dan kotoran sapi 0.63 – 0.90 cm. Penggunaan limbah buah pepaya memberikan hasil terbaik dengan pertumbuhan berat 0.16 – 0.20 g dan panjang 0.9 -1.2 cm. Kata Kunci : Cacing Tanah, Limbah Kubis, Buah Pepaya, Pertumbuhan.

Abstract

Penelitian tentang “Perbandingan Kandungan Gizi Ikan Nila Oreochromis niloticus Asal Danau Mawang Kabupaten Gowa dan Danau Universitas Hasanuddin (Unhas) Kota Makassar” telah dilaksanakan pada bulan Maret-Juni  2016. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kandungan gizi ikan nila Oreochromis niloticus yang hidup di perairan berbeda. Analisis kandungan gizi dilakukan di Balai Besar Laboratorium Kesehatan Makassar, Makassar, Sulawesi Selatan. Metoda yang digunakan untuk mengukur kandungan karbohidrat adalah Luff Schroorl; kandungan protein menggunakan metode Kjeldhal; kadar lemak menggunakan metode Soxhlet. Pengukuran penetapan kandungan mineral kalsium dan besi dengan metode AAS (Atom Absorbance System) dan fosfor dengan metode spektrofotometer UV-Vis. Hasil  penelitian menunjukkan, bahwa: ikan nila Oreochromis niloticus asal danau Mawang (0,32 g) mempunyai kandungan karbohidrat ikan lebih tinggi dibanding asal Danau Unhas (0,18 g); kandungan protein ikan asal danau Mawang (12,94 g) lebih rendah dibanding ikan asal danau Unhas (16,79 g), kandungan lemak ikan asal danau Mawang (0,10 g) lebih rendah dibanding ikan asal danau Unhas (0,18 g); kandungan kalsium ikan asal danau Mawang (4,782 mg) lebih tinggi dibanding ikan asal danau Unhas (3,027 mg); kandungan fosfor ikan asal danau Mawang (360 mg) lebih rendah dibanding ikan asal danau Unhas (610 mg); dan kandungan zat besi ikan asal danau Mawang (2,756 mg) lebih rendah dibanding ikan asal danau Unhas (0,835 mg).Kata Kunci: Gizi, Ikan Nila Oreochromis niloticus, Danau Mawang, Danau Unhas.

Abstract

Abtract. This study was aimed at studying changes in the morphology of Salmonella enteritidis bacterial cells after the crude extract of Pheretima sp. using a scanning electron microscope (SEM). Earthworm extraction uses 96% ethanol, and binds to the appropriate bacteria in the exponential phase with extract concentrations of 5% and 10%. Observations using a microscope scanner were carried out after agreeing to a 6-hour, 12-hour, and 24-hour extract. Obtained from the results showing the crude extract of Pheretima sp. to changes in cell morphology of Salmonella enteritidis bacteria. Salmonella enteritidis bacterial cells are damaged consisting of: formed holes in the surface of bacterial cells, bumps on the surface of bacterial cells, shrinkage of bacterial cells, elongation of bacterial cells, and increase in bacterial cells. In addition, as well as longer contributions and free time, incubation, after being added, crude extract of Pheretima sp. against Salmonella enteritidis bacteria, the greater the damage caused. However, 5% extract concentration is the optimal concentration in the effect of damage to the morphology of the cells of Salmonella enteritidis bacteria.Keywords: Coarse Extract, Earthworms, Pheretima sp., Morphological Cells, Salmonella enteritidis, Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM).

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of Lumbricus rubellus flour and Eucheuma cottonii flour on egg weight, consumption and feed conversion of laying hens. The material used in this study was a 48 week-old laying hen (productive egg laying), given additional L. rubellus flour and E. cottonii flour with different levels into basal feed. Complete Randomized Design Analysis (CRD) shows the positive effect of flours on egg weight, feed consumption and conversion to laying hens.

Abstract

Telur ayam memiliki potensi besar sebagai sumber pangan yang dapat memenuhi kebutuhan gizi masyarakat. Telur mengandung nutrisi yang bermanfaat bagi pertumbuhan dan kesehatan tubuh. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan kandungan omega 3 dan derajat keasaman (pH) pada telur akibat pengaruh penambahan tepung cacing tanah (Lumbricus rubellus) dan tepung rumput laut (Eucheuma cottonii) pada pakan basal ayam petelur. Materi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah ayam petelur berumur 48 minggu yang sedang bertelur sebanyak 48 ekor yang diberi tambahan tepung cacing tanah (Lumbricus rubellus) dan tepung rumput laut (Eucheuma cottonii) di dalam campuran pakan basal. Data ini dianalisis dengan menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) satu arah, menggunakan 6 perlakuan dengan 4 kali ulangan, dimana setiap ulangan berisi 2 ekor ayam, dan data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan program SPSS ver. 16.0. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh (p0.05) penambahan tepung cacing tanah dan tepung rumput laut terhadap derajat keasaman (pH) pada telur ayam. Penggunaan tepung cacing tanah dan tepung rumput laut dalam campuran pakan basal ayam petelur sangat disarankan untuk meningkatkan kadar omega-3 telur ayam ras.

Abstract

One of the livestock commodities in South Sulawesi is local chicken or native chicken (Gallus domesticus). Although this type of chicken has a high adaptability ability, native chickens can also experience illness and population reduction on farms that can be caused by worm-type endoparasites. This study was conducted from July to August 2023 in Pattongko Village, Central Sinjai District, Sinjai Regency with the aim of finding out what types of endoparasites are found in the gastrointestinal of native chickens in Pattongko Village. Sampling was carried out by random sampling method using 20 native chickens whose feces were taken as much as 5 grams per head. Sample preparation was carried out at the Zoology Laboratory FMIPA Hasanuddin University and sample examination and identification were carried out at the Parasitology Laboratory of the Maros Veterinary Center, which conducts 3 types of sample testing, namely the native method, the flotation method and the sedimentation method. The results of the study found 5 species of gastrointestinal endoparasites belonging to 2 classes, namely the nematode and cestode classes. Parasitic worms belonging to the nematode class are Heterakis spp., Ascaridia spp., Syngamus spp. and Capillaria spp. While parasitic worms belonging to the cestode class are Hymenolepis spp.

Abstract

Cardiovascular diseases, including coronary heart disease and heart attack symptoms, are the leading causes of death worldwide. High cholesterol levels and blood sugar levels contribute significantly to these diseases. Therefore, this study aimed to determine the effectiveness of combining capsules of earthworm (Lumbricus rubellus) and cinnamon (Cinnamomum burmannii) in lowering cholesterol and blood sugar levels. After conducting pre-clinical trials, clinical trials were further carried out in humans. Cholesterol and blood sugar levels were measured for 14 days in Phases 1 and 2. Statistical data analysis was conducted using the Shapiro-Wilk normality test, paired t-hypothesis test, Wilcoxon test, and frequency analysis. The results showed that in Phase 1, there were significant differences in volunteers' cholesterol and blood sugar levels with no clinical symptoms. The most significant decrease in cholesterol levels in female volunteers occurred at the age of 21-30 years, at 25.56%, while the most significant reduction in blood sugar levels occurred at 41-50 years, at 41.50%. On the other hand, the most significant decrease in cholesterol levels in male volunteers occurred at the age of 41-50 years at 33.08%, and the most significant reduction in blood sugar levels occurred at the age of >60 years at 38.87%. The most significant content in the combination capsule was fatty acids and cinnamaldehyde. In conclusion, consuming a combination of earthworm and cinnamon capsules for 14 days caused a reduction in cholesterol and blood sugar levels.
