Abstract

The growth adaptability of cayenne pepper plant will be greatly influenced by the capacity of growth environment obtained in agroforestry systems or monoculture systems. This research aims to obtain data on the growth adaptability of cayenne pepper plant in rubber plant agroforestry system and compare it with monoculture systems. The research was located in Sumber Sari Village, Sebulu District, Kutai Kartanegara Regency. This research used two planting system treatments (P), it’s monoculture system planting (p1) and rubber plants agroforestry system (p2) with 6 plots as replicates each. The variables measured were plant height, number of leaves, age of plant started flowering. Data were analyzed using Independent Sample t-test with a significant level (α) of 5%. The results showed that the cayenne pepper plant had a plant height increase of 16.03 cm in the rubber plant agroforestry system and 15.37 cm in the monoculture system. The number of leaves of cayenne pepper in the rubber plant agroforestry system was 36 and in monoculture system was 37. The age of cayenne pepper started flowering in rubber agroforestry system was 39 day after transplanting and 35 day after transplanting in monoculture system. This result indicates that cayenne pepper has good adaptability to the rubber plants shade at the age of ≤ 3 years with a canopy cover of 40-60% in agroforestry systems. The growth adaptability of cayenne pepper plant in rubber agroforestry system went well and was able to adapt the same as the monoculture planting system.

Abstract

Loka Village, Uluere District, Bantaeng Regency, as one of the agro-tourism areas in South Sulawesi, has also experienced an increase in the volume of plastic waste due to tourist visits. This community service activity aims to increase residents' awareness and creativity in managing plastic glass waste into aesthetically valuable home décor crafts. The implementation method includes initial observation, coordination and licensing with the village, socialization and education about the importance of plastic waste management, and demonstration of making recycled products. Evaluation was conducted through questionnaires to measure the increase in community creativity. The results of the service showed high enthusiasm from farm women, PKK, and PKL students. The community was able to understand the negative impact of plastic waste and showed increased creativity in utilizing waste into decorative products. This activity is expected to contribute to efforts to reduce plastic waste and develop an environment-based creative economy in Loka Hamlet.

Abstract

Stocks are a type of investment with the highest level of risk compared to other investment instruments. Factors that can influence investment risk include market risk, price fluctuations, company management, company performance, and financial performance. This study aims to analyze net profit margin (NPM), capital structure, and economic value added (EVA) on stock returns. The method used in this study is quantitative, with data collected from annual financial reports. The study population consisted of 93 companies in the basic materials sector. The research sample was determined using a simple random sampling technique and calculated using the Slovin formula with a 5% error rate, to obtain a sample of 75 companies with an observation period of 2022-2023, resulting in 150 observation data. The results show that simultaneously the variables NPM, Capital Structure, and EVA do not significantly affect stock returns, but partially NPM has a significant effect on stock returns. Capital structure, proxied by the Debt to Equity Ratio (DER), does not significantly affect stock returns. EVA does not significantly affect stock returns. Practically, this research can be a basis for companies as a consideration in improving company performance and company value and investors are expected to gain knowledge before making investment decisions.
