Abstract

Masjid merupakan produk budaya yang terkait sistem ide dan aktifitas masyarakat. Secara fisik, Bentuk Masjid Agung Surakarta didasari oleh pandangan hidup yang berakar pada kepercayaan masyarakat penghuninya, yang memiliki keyakinan agama Islam-Jawa yang berkaitan dengan Hindu-Budha. Secara khusus, penelitian ini bertujuan (1) melakukan identifikasi dan menganalisis unsur-unsur arsitektur bangunan Masjid Agung Surakarta, (2) menganalisis makna unsur-unsur arsitektur bangunan Masjid Agung Surakarta, (3) menelusuri dan menganalisis nilai-nilai kearifan lokal yang terkandung di dalam makna bentuk dan struktur unsur-unsur arsitektur bangunan Masjid Agung Surakarta. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dan melalui kajian semiotika dengan menggunakan teori Carles Sander Peirce dan Roland Barthes untuk menemukan arti/ pesan melalui tanda-tanda yang didapat pada unsur-unsur arsitektur bangunan Masjid Agung Surakarta. Hasil yang diperoleh menjelaskan bahwa (1) unsur-unsur arsitektur bangunan Masjid Agung Surakarta memiliki ciri-ciri visual mirip rumah tradisional Jawa yaitu Rumah Joglo, (2) penciptaan unsur-unsur arsitektur bangunan Masjid Agung Surakarta merupakan simbol yang memiliki makna, (3) dari makna unsur-unsur arsitektur bangunan Masjid Agung Surakarta terdapat pendidikan nilai-nilai kearifan lokal yang dapat diambil yaitu nilai kebenaran, nilai moral, nilai estetika dan nilai religius. The mosque is a cultural product related to the system of ideas and community activities. Physically, Great Mosque of Surakarta forms based on a view of life that is rooted in public confidence inhabitants, which has a Java-Islamic religious beliefs associated with Hindu-Buddhist. Abstract

Ornaments of the Great Mosque of Surakarta appear in several forms. Ornaments influenced by Hindu, Buddhist, Islamic and Javanese patterns are interesting phenomena to be studied. This study aims to (1) Identify and analyze ornaments (2) Analyze the meaning of ornaments (3) Analyze the linkages of aesthetic elements found in the ornaments of Surakarta Grand Mosque with education. This study uses qualitative methods through aesthetic studies to find the shape and meaning of ornaments in the Great Mosque of Surakarta. Data collection is done by (1) Observation (2) Interview (3) Study of documents. Data analysis is done by data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing / verification. Results (1) ornaments on elements of the Great Mosque of Surakarta have a visual form that is influenced by Javanese culture, Islam is related to Hindu-Buddhism (2) ornaments on elements of the Great Mosque of Surakarta have aesthetic values that are in accordance with 'the concepts of Javanese aesthetics and Islamic aesthetics (3 ) ornaments on elements of the Great Mosque of Surakarta have educational values including useful and valuable values (truth values), beautiful (aesthetic values), good (moral values), religious (religious values).

Abstract

This service aims to provide knowledge and practice of making online art appreciation learning media during the COVID-19 pandemic based on Android smartphones. The use of android smartphones as a tool for making learning media is based on the consideration that android smartphones have increasingly diverse uses because they are supported by the availability of various applications. The training was conducted for middle school art and culture teachers in Karanganyar. Implementation of the training using the lecture method to convey theoretical material about learning media, discussions to determine the concept of learning media to be made, and assistance in making learning media based on Android smartphones. The results of the training in the form of learning media are then carried out field trials to determine the success and shortcomings. After the learning media is improved, the learning media can be used in online art appreciation learning. Keywords: learning media, art appreciation, android smartphone

Abstract

Tujuan pengabdian yang akan dilakukan adalah pembuatan mural tema tanaman dan binatang untuk penguatan program sekolah adiwiyata dan media pembelajaran seni rupa anak usia dini di Kecamatan Kalijambe Sragen. Metode yang akan digunakan melalui pelatihan dan dan pendampingan melalui pendekatan partisipatif dan kolaboratif berpijak pada hasil observasi dan wawancara secara mendalam mengenai tema pembelajaran yang ada di TK sebagai pertimbangan utama dalam berkarya mural dengan metode direct practice menggambar langsung lukisan pada dinding TK. Hasil karya lukisan dinding mural dengan tema pembelajaran yang ada di Tk dapat dimanfaatkan untuk meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran seni rupa anak usia dini. Melalui Pelatihan dan pendampingan pembelajaran seni rupa anak usia dini dalam kegiatan menggambar yang memanfaatkan visualisasi karya dari hasil penerapan seni mural yang telah dilakukan.

Abstract

Many of today's generation are unfamiliar with Purwa shadow puppets, both in terms of figures and symbolic meanings. Despite the fact that there are many noble values that can be used as a source of character education for the younger generation as future leaders of the nation. The objective of this study is to explain the implied and explicit symbolism of the art of form in the shadow puppet figures of Purwa Buta Cakil and Harjuna in in order to better comprehend Javanese culture. This study was designed using a phenomenological qualitative approach. In-depth interview techniques, content analysis, and a literature review were used to collect the data. The validity of the data was determined by using the source triangulation technique and interviewing informants. Data analysis was carried out using the flow model of analysis technique, which included cyclical stages such as data collection, reduction, data presentation, and verification. The results reveal that Buta Cakil and Harjuna are symbols of two contradictory realities that exist in the Javanese cultural value system, mirrors of complementary pairs. The paradox of good-bad, smooth-violence, victory-loss, black-and-white, brightness-darkness, etc. The fine art of the two figures is part of Javanese culture in that it instills life values taught to the community so that their lives are safe and prosperous both outwardly and inwardly.

Abstract

Garbage banks have the potential to increase people's income. Where the waste bank can turn waste into useful items. Products made by waste banks are diverse, both in the form of accessories and crafts. The production of product waste is already good and useful. The member of the waste bank can make attractive products to fulfil the demand of the public. But in terms of selling their products, the waste bank doesn't really understand what kind of attraction is suitable to make their products sell. To overcome these problems, direction is needed using product photography which can increase the selling value of the product. This training aims to improve the community's ability to manage their products with product photography that can increase selling power. The method in this service is the mentoring method. The mentoring was conducted at the Gulon Asri Garbage Bank, Jebres, Surakarta. This training focuses on fostering the creativity of residents to make product photography with smartphones so that it is hoped that it can help residents sell their work from the Gulon Asri Waste Bank to become more attractive through social media.

Abstract

Dikarenakan (1) belum terciptanya lingkungan sekolah yang bersih, rapi, indah, nyaman, dan menarik sebagai pendukung program adiwiyata sekolah, (2) Sarana/media pembelajaran seni budaya dan prakarya kurang maksimal. Solusi yang dilakukan adalah Penerapan seni mural dengan menggambar tembok sekolah sebagai sarana memperindah visual lingkungan sekolah, dan Pemanfaatan seni mural di tembok sekolah sebagai media pembelajaran seni budaya dan prakarya dalam kegiatan menggambar. Metode yang akan digunakan melalui pelatihan dan dan pendampingan melalui pendekatan partisipatif dan kolaboratif berpijak pada hasil observasi dan wawancara secara mendalam mengenai tema mural dengan metode direct practice menggambar langsung lukisan pada dinding sekolah. Target luaran yang akan dihasilkan adalah (1) Karya mural di dinding sekolah (2) Artikel publikasi di jurnal Adiwidya (3) Video visualisasi karya dari hasil penerapan seni mural yang telah dilakukan; (4) Publikasi pada media cetak/online/repository UNS. Abstract

Weaving Yoga Art Business Partners, located in Klaten, Central Java, face challenges in business development, namely the limited design of woven motifs and fashion product designs, as well as the lack of optimal promotional media. The objectives of this service are as follows: (1) developing woven motif designs and improving the quality of woven products (both lurik weaving, ikat weaving, dobby weaving, painted weaving, and batik weaving); (2) developing designs for woven clothing products; and (3) creating promotional media designs, both print and digital, to increase marketing or partner turnover. The activity approach is participatory, involving business partners in planning, production processes, products, and the evaluation of activity results. The methods applied include interviews, discussions, observations, practice, training, product trials, and limited or mass production. Product trials have been well achieved which is implemented by the creation of weaving products and promotional media. The results achieved from these activities are: the creation of ten digital weaving designs, five striated weaving product designs, five ikat weaving product designs, three dobby weaving product designs, three painted weaving product designs, two batik stamp weaving product designs, twenty-two weaving-based fashion product designs, one product catalog, one promotional video, four weaving production tutorial videos, and the Yoga Art website.

Abstract

AbstrakIndonesia dikaruniai bermacam-macam jenis wayang diantaranya wayang beber Pacitan. Jenis wayang ini berbentuk lukisan pada lembaran kertas atau kain dan cara memainkannya dalang menceritakan bentuk visual lukisan tersebut.  Wayang beber Pacitan terdiri atas 24 adegan dengan bentuk visual berbeda-beda sesuai dengan ceritanya. Namun, jenis wayang tersebut sekarang hampir punah karena tergeser oleh budaya modern. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan nilai tontonan dan tuntunan pada bentuk visual wayang beber Pacitan adegan keempat. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif. Pengambilan data dalam penelitian ini adalah pengamatan, interview dengan informan, dan analisis isi. Pengambilan sampel secara purposif yaitu disesuaikan dengan tujuan penelitian. Data dianalisis dengan teknik analisis interaktif, serta bentuk visual wayang beber dianalisis dengan pendekatan semiotika Roland Barthes. Untuk mengecek keabsahan data digunakan triangulasi data. Kesimpulan penelitian dapat dideskripsikan sebagai berikut; nilai tontonan melalui pertunjukkan wayang beber adegan keempat yang menampilkan lukisan dan dituturkan oleh dalang menjadi hiburan bagi penonton karena nilai-nilai keindahannya. Sedangkan nilai tuntunan yang terdapat pada isi cerita pertunjukan wayang beber Pacitan jagong keempat adalah ajaran tentang kegigihan dalam mengejar cita-cita. Hal ini ditunjukkan oleh tokoh utama adegan keempat Joko Kembang Kuning melakukan penyamaran agar cita-citanya dalam menemukan Dewi Sekartaji bisa tercapai. Kata kunci: adegan, tontonan, tuntunan, wayang beber AbstractIndonesia is blessed with various types of wayang, including wayang beber Pacitan. This type of wayang beber is in the form of a painting on paper or cloth and how to play it, the puppeteer tells the visual form of the painting. Wayang beber Pacitan consists of 24 scenes with different visual forms according to the story. However, this type of wayang is now almost extinct because it was displaced by modern culture. The purpose of this study was to describe the value of spectacle and guidance in the fourth scene of wayang beber Pacitan's visual form. This study uses a qualitative research. The techniques used in this study were observation, in-depth interviews, and content analysis. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling. Data analysis used interactive analysis methods, to check the validity of the data used data triangulation. The results of the study concluded that the value of spectacle through the fourth scene of wayang beber performance which displays works of painting and is spoken by the dalang becomes entertainment for the audience because of its aesthetic values. Meanwhile, the guiding value contained in the story of the fourth Pacitan wayang beber show is the teaching of persistence in pursuing goals. This is shown by the main character in the fourth scene, Joko Kembang Kuning, who disguises himself so that he can achieve his dream of finding Dewi Sekartaji. Keywords: guidance, scene, spectacle, wayang beber

Abstract

As an ancient Indonesian art, Batik has been recognized by the United Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). Batik is one of the original handicrafts in Indonesia. This research explores three main issues of Bakaran batik legend: community leaders’ viewpoint in Juana, Pati Regency; aspects of context and implicatures; and coherences among themes, visual elements, and images. A qualitative method was conducted in this research. It was conducted in February-April 2022 with a case study at Bakaran Juana Pati district. Data collection techniques were employed through in-depth interviews, non-participatory observation, and document analysis. Data was collected using observations and interviews with eight informants. The data was analyzed using pragmatics. The findings revealed that Bakaran batik has its uniqueness explicitly in its patterns. Numerous designs in Bakaran batik patterns are associated with the legend of Nyai Ageng Danowati, a Majapahit Kingdom’s Batik expert figure who escaped from Majapahit and then lived in Bakaran village Juana district, Pati Regency. It implicitly has legendary aspects when analyzed in terms of possible patterns. Bakaran village’s legendary patterns include the Kembang Druju, the Limaran, the Gandrung, and the Magel Ati. The legend pattern’s context is typically connected with the legend of the Batik figure, Nyai Ageng Danowati, and the implicature of the legendary pattern is related to the moment of Nyai Ageng Danowati for spending her life while she was on the escapement. The visual elements and the image of the legend motif are coherent, and the visual form of the Motif theme is relevant to Nyai Danowati’s life story.
