Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengatahui pengaruh penerapan model group investigation terhadapkemampuan bertanya siswa pada materi sistem regulasi. Jenis penelitian pre-eksperimenmenggunakan desain one shot case study. Populasi penelitian adalah kelas XI MA Al-IrsyadDemak semester II tahun ajaran 2015/2016. Sampel penelitian ditentukan secara total sampling,yaitu kelas XI IPA 1 dan XI IPA 2. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan metode dokumentasi,tes, observasi, dan angket. Kemampuan bertanya siswa dinilai secara lisan dan tertulis denganmenggunakan instrumen yang telah divalidasi oleh dosen ahli. Hasil penelitian menunjukkanbahwa persentase ketuntasan hasil belajar siswa secara klasikal ≥ 80% yaitu sebesar 93,78%.Persentase siswa yang mendapatkan nilai kemampuan bertanya dengan kriteria minimal tinggimencapai 98,26%, dengan uji peningkatan kemampuan bertanya dari pertemuan pertama sampaipertemuan kelima memperoleh kriteria tinggi dengan N-gain 0,703. Berdasarkan hasil analisishubungan kemampuan bertanya dan hasil belajar siswa, diperoleh jumlah kuadrat deviasi untuknilai Fhitung = 19,247 dengan persamaan regresinya adalah Y = 48,08 + 0,475 X artinya hasilbelajar siswa dapat bertambah sebesar 0,475 kali dari setiap satu satuan variabel kemampuanbertanya siswa (X). Berdasarkan hasil analisis dan pembahasan, dapat disimpulkan bahwapenerapan model group investigation pada materi pembelajaran sistem regulasi berhasil digunakandan berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan bertanya siswa. The purpose of this study was to confirm the implementation of the model group investigation on thestudent’s questioning ability on regulatory system material. This study is a pre-experimental research usingone shot case study design. The population in this study is two classes in grade XI of MA Al-Irsyad Demakenrolled in the second semester of the 2015/2016 academic year. The sample research is determined by totalsampling, which is a class XI IPA 1 and XI IPA 2. The data collection is done by documentation, testing,observation and questionnaires methods. Student’s questioning ability assessed orally and in writing usingthe instrument that has been validated by two expert lecturers. The results showed that the percentage ofcompleteness of student learning outcomes classically is ≥ 80%, ie 93.87%. The percentage of student’squestioning ability with a minimum high category is 98.26%, with student’s questioning ability an increasefrom the first meeting until the fifth meeting of obtaining high criteria with N-gain 0,703. Based on theanalysis of student learning and student’s questioning ability, obtained the sum of squared deviations for thevalue of F=19.247 with a regression equation is Y = 48.08 + 0.475 X, means student learning outcomes canbe increased by 0.475 times of each of the unit variable student’s questioning ability (X). Based on theanalysis and discussion, it was concluded that the application of the group investigation model on thelearning material regulatory system affects students' questioning ability.

Abstract

Science and technology has been included in all aspects of life not as well as education. Rapid changes of science and technology encourages the development and the use of effective teaching model. Thailand, one of the big countries in Southeast Asia, has developed a new curriculum and education system in 2008. This new curriculum and educational system impact on teaching models used. The purpose of this study was to describe the Biology teaching model applied in Rattaphumwittaya School Thailand. This study was a case study by qualitative research. Data were collected by observation, interviews, and documentation. Data were organized in five elements of the teaching model includes syntax, the social system, the principle of reaction, support systems, and the effect of teaching. It was found that the teaching models used includes direct instruction, group investigation, and inquiry training. The selected models for each level Mattayom depend on the student's character. Also, the higher grade , the less teacher dominance during learning.

Abstract

Microscope skills is a skill that should be managed by the students in the laboratory works with a microscope. This research aimed to determine the effect of microscope skills on the observation results of plant tissue preparation by students of SMAN 4 Tegal. This is a Quasi Experimental research with Intact-Group Comparison design. Sample divided into three groups: (1) XI MIA 5 was given demonstration and microscopes instructions sheet; (2) XI MIA 4 was given microscopes instructions sheet only; and (3) XI MIA 2 neither given demonstration nor microscopes instructions sheet. The results of this research showed that the signification value of ANOVA test both on the microscope skills grades and observation result grades that was 0,000<0,05, which mean there was a average different grade between three group treatments. Furthermore, significance value of simple linear regression test was 0,000<0,05, which mean microscope skills affected the observation results. The raise of microscope skills grades followed by the raise of observation result grades. Correlation coefficients value (R) was 0,939 showed a very strong correlation and adjusted R square value (R2) was 0,881 showed microscope skills affected the observation results for 88,1%. Therefore, it can be concluded that microscope skills positively affected the observation results of plant tissue preparation by students of SMAN 4 Tegal.

Abstract

Problem-solving skills related social-scientific issue in society’enviroment need to be owned by students. This capability can be trained by PBL (Problem Based Learning) model. The purpose of this research is to analyze problem solving abilities of students. The type of this research is quasi experiment with one group pretest-posttest design. Sample of the research is X grade students from SMA N 1 Semarang and SMA Ksatrian 1 Semarang. The result consisted of primary outcome in the form of capability, N-gain value and classical content mastering as well as secondary outcome covering the implementation of learning, teacher's response and student's response. Based on the result, the average of problem solving ability SMA N 1 Semarang increased from 70% to 79,5%, while SMA Ksatrian 1 Semarang increased from 59,5% to 73%. Completeness of classical learning SMA N 1 Semarang, class X MIPA 7, 97% and class X MIPA 9, 79%. The completeness of classical learning SMA Ksatrian 1 Semarang, class X MIPA 3, 80% and class X MIPA 5, 65%. N-gain value of SMA N 1 Semarang 0,553 and SMA Ksatrian 1 Semarang 0,433 in medium category. The conclusion of this research is the utilization of social issue with PBL model can improve problem solving ability on ecosystem’learning in SMA.

Abstract

The ability to think critically is needed in the 21st century so that students must have the ability to think critically.Withthese abilities, students are more able to master the concept of material, able to provide further explanation and provide alternative problem-solving so that students are expected to be able to solve problems in the environment in the future. This study aims to analyze the problem-based instruction model with effective video applied to senior high school 1 Mayong students on the ability to think critically and analyze the problem-based instruction model with video so that it can improve the critical thinking skills of senior high school 1 Mayong students. This study used pre-experimental design with one group pretest-posttest design. The sample of this study were students of class XI MIPA 3 and XI MIPA 4 Senior High School 1 Mayong which were determined using purposive sampling technique. The independent variable is a problem-based instruction model with an immune system video media. Dependent variables besides critical thinking skills are also conservation attitudes that are expected to arise during the learning process. The researcher collected the data using test questions and observation sheets. The results of data analysis showed that students' critical thinking skills reached 92.5% completeness. On average, every aspect of students' critical thinking skills are in critical and very critical criteria and the average conservation value of students is honest, creative and humanist in good, good and very good criteria. The average N-gain in both classes is included in the criteria of medium (0.69) and high (0.71). Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the problem-based instruction model with effective video is applied to senior high school 1 Mayong students towards critical thinking skills and problem-based instruction models with videos can improve the critical thinking skills of senior high school 1 Mayong students

Abstract

Model and learning media is the important component that can affect the result of learning outcomes. The appropriate model of learning can improve students learning activity. The result of interest questionnaire and interview with biology teachers in SMA N 1 Jatibarang showed that student activity interest at medium category and paper became the main option for all administration and documentation needs. Team Games Tournament with edmodo was rated as the most appropriate model that match the situations and conditions in SMA N 1 Jatibarang nowadays. This model has high efficacy level to solve the activity and learning outcome problem, meanwhile Edmodo is the proper rated class-based website as the solution for paperless attempt. This study aim is to evaluate the effectiveness of Team Games Tournament with edmodo toward student learning outcome and as an attempt to support the pillar of paperless conservation in SMA N 1 Jatibarang. A pre-experimental, One Group Pretest-Posttest Design was used. Samples was collected by purposive sampling methods. All XI MIPA students used as experiment class. Data collection method in this study is a test and questionnaire based methods. Data analysis result showed that classical mastery at 93.26% and N-gain score at 0.70 with high category. The student opinion towards TGT method with edmodo has a very good category. The conclusion is Team Games Tournament model with edmodo effective towards student learning outcome and as an attempt to support the pillar of paperless conservation.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the types of learning resources used previously at SMA N 3 Salatiga, describe the feasibility of Biomagz Based on Local Wisdom, and test the effectiveness of Biomagz Based on Local Wisdom on learning outcomes and student’s environmental care attitude. The method used is research development (R & D). Products are validated by material and media validators, and revised before being tested. Small-scale trials (readability test) use 10 students from class X MIPA 1, while large-scale trials use class X MIPA 2 with the experimental design Pre-experimental Design with the type of Pre-test and Post-test One Group Design. The results of the study show the variety of learning resources used previously including biological, teacher, internet, biology books, and the environment around students. The Feasibility of Biomagz Based on Local Wisdom obtained an average score of 92.21% with very decent criteria. Large-scale trials with an average N-gain value 0.49 in the medium category, the average classical completeness is 85.29%, and the environment care attitude of students is based on the observation result of 92.9% with a high category and the result of the inter-student assessment is 86, 18% with a high category. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that Biomagz Based Local Wisdom is well worth and effective on learning outcomes and student’s environmental care attitude.

Abstract

Internationalization Programs of the Biology study, Semarang State University (UNNES), in order to realize the vision of UNNES as an international conservation university, continues. The objective of this study is to conduct internationalization program for Biology study in the form of student mobility, Credit transfer, guest lecturer, and world-class professor at UTM. This study is an Operational Research (OR). Operational Research is a research that aims to resolve operational problems, which result is used to help solving problems using scientific methods. UNNES Biology study proposes activities in the form of student mobility, credit transfer, guest lecturer, and world-class professor for Biology Student, but then the credit transfer is not done. The results obtained from the student mobility will be the topic at a public lecture from the Biology studies program. Student mobility program is an excellent opportunity for students to have the experience and knowledge at the international level.

Abstract

These days, critical thinking skills is one of competency that should be developed in students. Critical thinking skills is the ability of a person spotting condition or phenomenon and able to provide judgment according to their prior knowledge. School as an educational organizer has an important role in nurturing and evaluating students critical thinking skills through teaching-learning activity. Critical thinking skills can be developed by using learning methods, learning models, and evaluation in learning activity. This study capturing how the critical thinking skills of Mungkid 1 Public Senior High School 11th grade students in animal tissue topic. This study is a qualitative study with analysis method. Data of this study was taken using observation, interview, test, and questionnaire. The result shows that 53,62% of students belong to low critical thinking skills category due to lacking of variety learning method in the teaching-learning activity (using conventional method instead of variety of models). Also the questions given to the students didn’t support critical thinking skills approach.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kelayakan dan keefektifan modul pembelajaran IPA Terpadu berpendekatan keterampilan proses pada tema dampak limbah rumah tangga terhadap lingkungan untuk SMP kelas VIII. Penelitian menggunakan metode Research and Development (R&D). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa modul termasuk dalam kriteria layak digunakan tanpa revisi berdasarkan hasil validasi yang dilakukan oleh pakar. Hasil tanggapan penggunaan modul oleh guru dan siswa termasuk dalam kriteria sangat menarik. Hasil belajar siswa pada skala besar mencapai 87,5% siswa tuntas belajar, menunjukkan adanya hasil yang signifikan karena hasil thitung>ttabel dan n-gain termasuk dalam kategori tinggi. Disimpulkan modul pembelajaran IPA Terpadu berpendekatan keterampilan proses pada tema dampak limbah rumah tangga terhadap lingkungan layak dan efektif digunakan dalam pembelajaran IPA Terpadu kelas VIII.  This study has purpose that is to know the feasibility and effectiveness of integrated science teaching modules with process skills approach on the theme of the impact of household waste on the environment for junior class VIII. This study uses a Research and Development. The results showed that the modules included in the criteria feasible for use without revision based on the results of the validation are performed by experts. Response result of use of module by teachers and students included in the criteria is very interesting. Student learning outcomes on a large scale to reach 87,5% of students pass the study, showed a significant result because result of tarithmetic> ttable and n-gain with high category. Concluded is integrated science teaching modules with process skills approach on the theme of the impact of household waste on the environment are feasible and effective to use in integrated science teaching in class VIII.
