Abstract

The use of smartphone in response to incoming message and incoming call while driving may cause the loss of concentration thus increasing the risk of accidents when driving. Many researches had been conducted are using speech recognition to help the driver responds to incoming message and incoming call. However, the response system which using speech recognition can be easily affected by noise disturbance from the road or the vehicle noise so it will be very difficult to receive voice response from the user. So in this research developed a method to receive a response from the user using a proximity sensor to improve accuracy. In this research also used the Android Text to Speech (TTS) system to read aloud incoming message notifications and incoming call for this method to work well in the offline condition. The system is designed to allow users to select message and send message with the keyword module. Furthermore, usability testing for application is conducted using the System Usability Scale (SUS) Questionnaire with usability criteria assessed in the form of efficiency and satisfaction. The result showed an overall SUS value of 76, which indicates that this application as a whole has a good usability.

Abstract

Online Taxi Android (Grab-car and Uber) is an online-based online transportation service controlled with android mobile applications. The rise of the use of online taxi applications proves that consumers are accustomed to using these services everyday. This study provides a comparison of online taxpayer usability using the unifiied theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT). Comparison will be obtained from four approaches on the UTAUT model. The best performance expectancy based approach is obtained by Grab-car with satisfied value, the best Effort Expectancy approach is obtained by Uber with satisfied value, the best social impact based approach is obtained by Grab-car with satisfied value, and approach based on facilitating conditions. Best earned by Grab-car with very satisfied value.

Abstract

The development of technology that more sophisticated, making the news spread faster. Initially news is presented in conventional forms such as newspapers. Slowly the news is presented in the form of mobile apps. In its implementation, application developers use various libraries to create a news portal. The frequently used libraries include HttpURLConnection, Asynchronous Http Client, Retrofit, and OkHttp. But the performance of each library is unknown. Therefore, needs a research to provide performance information from each library. In this research, metrics are response time, memory usage, and network usage as a comparison between libraries. Testing consists of a comparison between text data and text data along with images. The results of this study showed that the fastest response time in OkHttp library with an average of 148,675 ms. The smallest usage memory in the HttpURLConnection library with an average of 13906.1 KB. While the smallest network usage on Asynchronous Http Client library with an average of 67196.5 B. The test results in this study also showed an increase in response time of each library when the accessed data is text and image data. And there is an increase in memory usage and network usage memory when the accessed data is text and image data.

Abstract

The traffic signs are a symbol of traffic order useful as warning, prohibition, command and directions. The management signs by the division of Rekayasa Lalu Lintas (RLL) get some obstacles in collecting data that have been installed. Data collection which done by the officers still using manual guide. Every survey have been conducted by surveyor, returned to office for result and need long time. Meanwhile, field officers also get some problems in determining route and position of signs that will be installed. The solution to simplify sign management is to build an integrated system between mobile application and web application. Web application which as server is a web service based to process exchanging sign data. Mobile application as client by doing CRUD process and based AR and GPS to facilitate installation positioning signs. The result of application is able to perform the process of signs management well. Result of validation test results have occupied functional requirements and result of usability testing obtained 79.5 SUS score from field officer and 80.5 SUS score from surveyor. Meanwhile results of compatibility testing get 100% valid results and result of GPS accuracy approach testing obtained highest result is 4.039m and lowest is 1.812m.

Abstract

During this time the diagnosis of the disease always relies on clinical or laboratory estimates. Where with it many found deficiencies that resulted in losses for the patient in managing time. Based on the inventory data and the number of requests, it is designed a decision support system using the method fuzzy tsukamoto.In the diagnosis system of THT diseases with android based The demand variable consists of two fuzzy set, namely: DOWN, and NAIK, inventory variable consists of two fuzzy set, : LITTLE, and MANY, while the production variable consists of two fuzzy sets namely: REDUCE, and ADDED. The calculation of accuracy in this study was not separated based on each disease but accuracy for the whole disease and resulted in an accuracy of 93.75%

Abstract

Smartphone can help activities people of disabilitie, among others, is to seek information, self-existence and eliminate burnout. But smartphones can be used also to help communicate between normal people and people with disabilities, one of which is calling people with hearing disability. If a normal person wants to call a person with hearing impairment, he or she should usually tap the shoulder or turn on the light switch to attract the attention of the deaf. But with the presence of sensors embedded in smartphones, normal people can easily call the deaf. To facilitate the calling of the deaf person then designed and implementation of an application converts voice into text. This app works if there is a voice calling the name of a person with hearing impairment, so the smartphone belonging to the deaf person can give a vibrating notification. To implement the application need to use the library to convert the sound into text that is pocketsphinx library. The application also needs to be implemented in the background service so that users can open other applications / programs without interrupting the application being run. This app also uses vibrate notifications to give notifications to app users if anyone calls This Aplication can recognize sound up to 4 meters.. Then the user response to the application tested by usability testing obtained 76.25% for caller and 81.18% for the deaf. This shows that the application is good and successful.

Abstract

Head Movement Control System (HEMOCS) is a control method which utilizing head movement, especially for mobile device interaction. Wheelchair Control Application Based On HEMOCS developed so the wheelchair movement can be controlled independently by someone who can't use their hands with help from Bluetooth Low Energy connectivity as data communication media between application and wheelchair. Head movement such as up, down, left, right, tilt left, and tilt right head movement can be recognized appropriately. Wheelchair movement will be controlled using those head movements. Head movement that has been conducted during accuracy testing with duration 0,4 until 0,6 seconds, with average angle 22,63 degrees, and with duration 0,7 until 0,9 seconds, with average angle 27,21 degrees can be recognized accurately with 100% procentage.

Abstract

E-commerce application is a mobile application that allows users to fulfill their needs without having to physically buy in the store. Some of the main issues of e-commerce applications which become our interest are about transactional security, application navigation, and how good the content or images represent the products being sold. The purposes of this study is to know the values proposed by the stakeholders. The concept which was used, is user experience honeycomb, which contains of seven aspects: accessible, credible, desireable, findable, usable, useful and valuable. Methodology that was used in this study, is by analyzing values proposed observed from vision and mission, slogan, official website, and advertisements of the e-commerce. Based on the result of our proposed values analysis, it is reported that Bukalapak, Lazada, Tokopedia, Zalora, and Matahari Mall possessing all values in ux honeycomb.

Abstract

Human pets, dog is a social creature that can interact with each other or humans so that not a few people prefer dogs as pets. However, dogs can also have an infectious disease that can be bad for humans, the presence of an expert would be helpful in terms of solving the diseases that attack dogs by means of identifying the symptoms that plagued and conclude what disease. Naive Bayes method is a method used to predict probabilities. While Bayes classification is the classification of statistics that can predict the probability of a class member. For a more simple Bayes classification known as naive Bayesian Classifier can be assumed that the effect of an attribute value is a class given is free of other attributes. The required variable in this study is clinical symptoms in dogs. The results of this research testing showed the accuracy of the system are 90%.

Abstract

Messaging applications with the internet today is often done by mobile devices users for communicating. However, messaging applications that use the internet, especially in UB campus environment have problems. Wi-Fi users and internet access needs in large campus environments are often mobile devices can only connect with Wi-Fi only and log into a campus intranet network without being able to access the internet. So in this research, messaging application developed that can be used on intranet network of UB campus without using internet connection. This research used pull messaging method with the server placed in the Faculty of Computer Science Brawijaya University. We then tested the usability level using the Questionnaire System Usability Scale (SUS) and availability level. The results showed the value of SUS testing is 84.67% and availability score is 100%. From the results of usability and availability testing showed that this messaging application has a good usability level and can run on the condition both the internet is available or not available
