Abstract

Telah dilakukan penelitian ejector untuk proses ekstraksi Non Condensable Gas (NCG) dengan menggunakan steam yang bergerak dengan kecepatan tinggi. Pada penelitian ini dilakukan variasi tekanan kondenser untuk mengetahui performa ejector pada kondisi operasi tekanan kondenser yang berbeda. Performa ejector dapat dilihat dari entrainment ratio yang dihasilkan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kondisi operasi berbeda akan menghasilkan entrainment ratio yang berbeda. Nilai entrainment ratio menunjukkan kondisi desain ejector dan pada penelitian ini didapatkan kondisi operasi ejector on-design dan off-design

Abstract

Musculoskeletal disorder is one of the risks due to improper working position. The most common problems in UD. Jati Semi were started from woodcutting up to finishing processes were the poor material arrangement, unergonomic working position, and dust from the wood cutting process. The risk assessment was performed by HIRA (Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment) method. The results showed that there were 4 risks in the accepted category, 1 risk in the moderate category, and 3 risks in the unaccepted category. The methods for analyzing working postures were performed by RULA (Rapid Upper Limb Assessment) and OWAS (Ovako Work Posture Analysis). The RULA results showed that the first installation and the cutting processes were classified as high-risk category, the second installation and the machine sanding processes were classified as the moderate-risk category, and the engraving by machine, the manual engraving, and the staining processes were classified as small-risk category. The OWAS results showed that the first installation, the sanding by machine, the engraving by machine, and the second installation processes were classified as the moderate category, the staining process was classified as quite category, the cutting process was classified as the highest category , and the engraving process was classified as the low category.

Abstract

Along with the reduced use of metal in various materials, many new materials that have characteristics close to the metal have been developed for example in terms of tensile strength or other mechanical strength and have other advantages such as ease of manufacturing and low production costs. Composite is a material that is formed from a minimum of two materials and usually has different mechanical properties to get new properties that are better than the ingredients. Each composite produces different properties depending on the matrix filler, type of filler and reinforcing material used. Rias banana fiber and wood sawdust available in large quantities need to be utilized better, for example for composite materials. This research can facilitate development in other fields because it has criteria to reduce metal imports, increase local product content, and increase foreign exchange if the product is exported. This study also supports government programs to increase independence in making independent products. The results of this study indicate that variations in the composition of composites made from rias banana fiber and teak sawdust with an epoxy matrix affect the mechanical properties of the composite. Hardness value increases with increasing percentage of resin given. While the highest value of max strength is produced by composites with basic ingredients of 40% rias banana fiber, 20% teak sawdust and 40% epoxy. Abstract

An experimental study in condensation has been conducted to analyse the condensation phenomena. The enhancement heat transfer performance is as always highlighted phenomenon for being investigated. The modified surface is a common method for enhancing the performance of condensation since inducing the droplet on the surface. The droplet leads to increasing heat-transfer area, decreasing thermal resistance, and shorten the condensing cycle. The condensation by using water successfully induces droplets on the surface and enhances the heat transfer. But water and refrigerant have different fluid properties which induce different phenomena whereas refrigerant is widely used in industry. In this case, the condensation is conducted on the modified surface by using a commercial promotor to investigate the phenomena. The investigation results show that the surface tension immensely influences the condensate on the surface. Refrigerant is low surface tension fluid which leads to the difficulty of fluid for inducing droplets and almost no enhancement heat transfer performance since the results almost fitted well to Nusselt bare tube prediction around 2443-3063 W/m2 oC with subcooled temperature 2 up to 5 oC.

Abstract

Refrigerant that is released into the environment will damage nature because of the chlorine. In addition, refrigerant is also a toxic substance and will damage the central nervous system and cause negative cardiovascular effects. To reduce the release of refrigerant into the environment, in this technical guidance, AC and refrigerator technicians were chosen as partners. AC and Refrigerator technicians are people who direct contact with the refrigerant. Offline Technical Guidance was carried out in the workplace by following strict health protocols during the covid 19 pandemic. For the provision of materials that do not use equipment, technicians were given via zoom meeting to reach all technicians at once. From the result of questionnaires , it was found that AC and refrigerator technicians have a good understanding of the effect of refrigerant on the environment, the effect on humans or the technicians themselves, the history of refrigerant, handling used refrigerant and safety and health at work.

Abstract

Indonesia is facing a second wave of Covid-19 cases in mid-2021. In that time, the increase reached 381 percent or almost 5 times. Therefore, the government announced the Enforcement of Restrictions on Community Activities. This is determined by the government for each city in Indonesia so it cannot be predicted by the general public. Actually,  The Restrictions on Community Activities status level determines the risk of a region's economic activities. Therefore, we need a method that can help to categorize the level of PPKM in an area based on available daily data. Thus, this study aims to create a rule model based on Fuzzy Tsukamoto logic that can help determine the level of risk of an area. Based on data on Covid-19 patients in Malang District, East Java has formed 6 fuzzy variables, each of which has 4 fuzzy sets, and 15 rules that can be used as a classification model. From the results, we obtained an accuracy value of 80%. This shows that the generated rule can properly classify the daily Covid-19 data to then estimate the next restrictions level.

Abstract

Usaha pembuatan telur asin memiliki pasar kuliner yang bagus Indonesia. Salah satu UMKM pembuatan telur asin dari Kediri, Indonesia adalah “Telur Asin Berkah”. UMKM ini dapat memasak 3000-5000 biji telur dalam satu kali perendaman. Selain diperjualbelikan ke warung-warung, telur asin juga ditawarkan melalui status WhatsApp. Selama melakukan produksi dan pemasaran, UMKM ini mengalami beberapa kendala antara lain belum memiliki logo untuk branding kuat, pengemasan masih sederhana, dan pemasaran online yang sebatas menggunakan aplikasi WhatsApp. Oleh karena itu, program pengabdian masyarakat ini menawarkan sejumlah solusi untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut yakni membuatkan logo sebagai upaya menaikkan branding awarness, memperbaiki proses pengemasan, dan memperluas pemasaran online menggunakan e-commerce dan sosial media. Tahapan kegiatan ini terbagi menjadi persiapan dan diskusi dengan mitra, membuatkan logo, memperbaiki tampilan pengemasan, membuat akun ecommerce dan sosial media, pelatihan foto produk dan pengelolaan ecommerce/sosial media, dan pendampingan kegiatan. Hasil dari kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah meningkatnya pengetahuan mitra tentang teknik pemasaran online dan meluasnya target pasar dari UMKM “Telur Asin Berkah”.

Abstract

A coffee roasting machine is a machine that is used to roast coffee beans to ripen. The working principle of this machine is that the coffee beans are heated in a rotating roaster with a predetermined temperaturee, so that the heating can be evenly distributed. The process of roasting coffee beans can be adjusted to temperaturee, in which the heating element of the tool uses a Band Heater component. Band Heater is shaped like a tube with a function as a heater to heat a cylinder of a certain size which has advantages such as high operating temperature, fast heating, high heat efficiency, environmentally friendly, even and accurate heating, can adjust the automatic control system. The purpose of this study was to design a controlled coffee roasting machine using an electric heating system of the band Heater type with a capacity of 5 kg and to know the PID Rex-C100 temperaturee control on a coffee roasting machine with a capacity of 5 kg. This study show  temperature rise every 10 minutes during the roasting process, a graph of the difference in temperaturee every 10 minutes during the roasting process, data on the measurement of the heating system temperaturee, a graph of the relationship between the heater band temperaturee and heat flow, the comparison of the temperaturee bands. heater with roasting chamber, and graph of the required power band heater.

Abstract

Increasing heat transfer in condensation for low surface tension fluid is dominated by using extended area (fin). One of the extended area on pipe is integral fin tube. Designing of integral fin tube should be conducted due to generate optimal condition such as designing fin spacing. Fin spacing has significantly impacted to heat transfer enhancement. Whereas the material of pipe is copper since has higher heat conductivity than others and fluid working is methanol. To predict optimal geometry of integral fin tube is conducted by using mathematical simulation by dividing area into flooded and unflooded. The active area or unflooded area represents the heat transfer area adn enhancement. In this experiment is found that the optimum fin spasing is 1 mm

Abstract

Pada proses pengeringan cengkeh di Kecamatan Munjungan masih sangat tradisional yaitu dengan cara dijemur dibawah sinar matahari, untuk menghasilkan kualitas yang bagus harus memerlukan waktu 3-4 hari dan apabila musim penghujan tiba maka di butuhkan waktu dalam kurun 5-7 hari dengan rata-rata waktu penjemuran 8-10 jam setiap hari tergantung terik matahari. Karena adanya kendala yaitu faktor iklim cuaca hujan atau mendung sehingga panas dari matahari yang dihasilkan tidak maksimal. Tidak hanya di Kecamatan Munjungan saja yang mengalami masalah tersebut, tentu pada daerah penghasil cengkeh lainnya juga mengalami masalah yang sama, karena masalah ini sangat berdampak terhadap kualitas dari cengkeh tersebut sehingga nilai harga jual dari cengkeh akan menurun. Untuk menyelesaikan masalah Mitra kelompok tani Lestari Trenggalek, Tim melakukan kegiatan dengan membantu membuat pengering, kemudian menyerahkan kepada Mitra, memberikan bimbingan perawatan dan penggunaan.  Pada akhir kegiatan Mitra memberikan kuesioner kepuasan dan 95% Mitra sangat setuju bahwa kegiatan yang dilaksanakan memberikan solusi atas masalah yang dihadapi mitra. Anggota tim yang terlibat dalam kegiatan aktif dalam memberikan bantuan. Frekuensi pendampingan yang dilakukan oleh tim sudah sesuai. Terjadi peningkatan kemandirian atau penambahan pengetahuan dan ketrampilan pada mitra. Secara keseluruhan mitra merasakan kepuasan atas kegiatan yang telah dilaksanakan.
