Abstract

Limbungan Traditional Village is located in Perigi Village with traditional potential that can be introduced as one of the tourist attractions in the village. Apart from that, there are many potential tourist attractions whose potential the people in Perigi village have not yet realized. The main obstacle in this village is the absence of special human resources focused on developing and managing the area as a tourist attraction, even though the East Lombok Regency government has designated Perigi village, especially the Limbungan Traditional Village, for tourism development. Therefore, the Lombok Poltekpar Service Team designed a human resource development program consisting of preparation stages, baseline study, coordination, coaching and mentoring, monitoring and evaluation. Based on the activities carried out, there are around 25 active young people who have been formed to develop Perigi village and Limbungan Traditional Village as tourist attractions. The provisions that have been obtained from increasing human resource capacity include the ability to prepare tour packages, story telling and basic services to guests. It is hoped that this activity to increase human resource capacity can be the first step for the village government and community to develop their village into a tourist attraction and provide awareness or sustainable benefits in the tourism sector.

Abstract

This study seeks to assess the impact of service quality, perceived value, and destination image on tourists' intention to return to Lombok. Based on a study involving 366 respondents, the research confirmed the significant relationship between these variables, with tourists generally expressing high satisfaction during their visits, particularly in group settings. Empathy emerged as the most influential dimension within service quality, while emotional value was a key aspect of perceived value. The resulting image dimension strongly influenced the destination image, indicating that Lombok leaves a lasting and positive impression on visitors. The analysis revealed that both service quality and destination image significantly influence tourists' intentions to revisit, while perceived value did not exhibit a significant effect. The findings imply that enhancing emotional and empathetic service aspects, along with strengthening Lombok’s positive image, could effectively encourage repeat visits. However, since perceived value alone does not drive revisit intention, the study suggests that other factors may play a more critical role. This study recommends tourism stakeholders in Lombok concentrate on enhancing service quality, especially in empathy, and persist in enhancing the island's image through focused marketing strategies. Future research should explore additional variables that influence the intention to revisit in order to provide a more comprehensive understanding of tourist behavior.

Abstract

Background:This study explores the need for standardization and documentation in guiding Muslim tourists in Lombok. Currently, tour guides employ varied approaches that lack consistency and formal guidelines, leading to unstructured service delivery. By analyzing insights from religious leaders and experienced tour guides, this research aims to identify effective strategies that ensure uniformity and high-quality service for Muslim tourists.Methodology:A qualitative approach is employed, utilizing in-depth interviews and field observations to assess current practices in handling Muslim tourists. Data collection focuses on the experiences of tour guides, identifying service gaps, and evaluating the need for standardized procedures and documentation.Findings:The findings reveal that the handling of Muslim tourists in Lombok is largely based on individual guides' personal knowledge and experience, with minimal formal documentation or standardized procedures. Seasoned guides exhibit a deeper understanding of Muslim tourists' needs, including halal food provisions, facility cleanliness, and prayer schedule accommodations. This study categorizes Muslim tourist handling into three key phases: Pre-Tour, In-Tour, and Post-Tour. The absence of formal documentation and structured guidelines underscores the necessity of clear operational standards to enhance service consistency and reliability. Conclusion:To improve Muslim tourist services in Lombok, this study highlights the need for well-defined Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and systematic documentation to ensure consistency. Regular training programs for tour guides and strengthened collaboration with local communities are essential to reinforce Shariah-compliant tourism services. Additionally, upgrading supporting facilities will further enhance the tourist experience. Implementing these measures will position Lombok as a leading halal tourism destination, offering structured and reliable services to Muslim travelers.
