Abstract

This study discusses efforts to protect children who have been victims of sexual abuse with the modus operandi of sexual transformation in Cianjur Regency. The purpose of this study is to determine the protective measures taken by relevant parties and the factors that influence the success of protection. The method used is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques in the form of in-depth interviews and participatory observation. The study subjects include child victims, families, police, courts, and child protection agencies. The results show that protection for children who are victims of sexual abuse with the modus operandi of sexual transformation is still less than optimal due to factors such as lack of public knowledge, insufficient trained personnel, lack of support from families and society, as well as administrative and legal issues. Therefore, serious and integrated efforts are needed to protect children who are victims of sexual abuse with the modus operandi of sexual transformation by increasing public knowledge, training relevant personnel, providing moral and psychological support, and evaluating existing policies and regulations.

Abstract

Abstract: In the digital era, learners gain knowledge from various modes or multimodal. However, it is not in line with the Indonesian teachers’ competencies, particularly in conducting multimodal teaching. For the reasons, this study explored the development of student teachers’ competencies through collaborative multimodal teaching using VR. Moreover, it investigated the difficulties encountered by student teachers in developing the teacher competencies through collaborative multimodal teaching. The teacher competencies consist of the pedagogical, professional, social, and personal competencies (Ministry of National Education, 2007). This study applied qualitative design (multi-case study) involving 45 student teachers studying at three different study programs and 15 model teachers teaching at elementary schools in Cianjur, West Java. Three instruments were employed for the data collection of this study, i.e., observations, questionnaires, and interviews. The results indicate that the collaborative multimodal teaching (using VR) among the model teachers and the student teachers is conducted in five stages, i.e., observing, planning, simulating, practicing, and evaluating. In collaborative multimodal teaching using VR, students teachers involved in a group of teaching using VR as the instructional media naturally, get the transformation of pedagogical knowledge, and practice multimodal teaching directly in the natural teaching-learning processes. Moreover, it fosters the student teacher to develop the teacher competencies optimally, such as practicing teaching methodology and implementing multimodal teaching using VR in real-life contexts (pedagogic competence), expanding digital knowledge (e.g., VR), and utilizing it in teaching-learning processes (professional competence), showing pride in being future teachers (personal competence), interacting and communicating with the teachers and learners naturally (social competence). Thus, they are more ready to be future professional teachers in the millennial era. Nevertheless, they should keep learning and developing the teacher competencies (exceptionally professional and pedagogic competencies) to overcome teaching difficulties, such as learner characteristics, teaching management, material evaluation, curriculum development, and assessment.

Abstract

Postpartum mothers who suffer from baby blues syndrome may abuse their biological children. Baby blues syndrome is a form of mental disorder. The chronology, mental condition, evidence and results of forensic psychiatry in a case of abuse by a perpetrator who suffers from a mental disorder are very important considerations and determine whether or not the perpetrator can be punished. This is considering that apart from the Criminal Code, regulations regarding legal accountability for perpetrators of mental disorders are also regulated in Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 36 of 2009 concerning Health (UU Health) and Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 18 of 2014 concerning Mental Health (UU Mental Health ). This research also explores the form of legal responsibility for the perpetrator. This research methodology uses normative juridical, with a statutory regulation approach and a case approach. Data collection was obtained using the data analysis method in the form of descriptive qualitative analysis of secondary data. The results of the research show that perpetrators suffering from baby blues syndrome when committing abuse cannot be punished due to forgiving reasons based on Article 44 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code which is an exception for mental disabilities for the mental disorders they suffer from. Criminal liability certainly cannot be imposed on the perpetrator. The form of legal responsibility is carrying out rehabilitation as well as efforts to cure it, as well as carrying out education regarding the mental illness suffered.

Abstract

Virtual Reality is a tool to provide real visualization that its users can see. Virtual Reality can also be a learning tool requiring clear visuals. Bringing those far away is one of the functions of this VR. With VR, learning methods are increasingly realized clearly with presentations that can be seen immediately. Users do not need to go directly into the field to see the original visualization, but users can see directly with virtual vision. English learning can be presented with the help of VR, where children and teachers can visually see colours, animate and inanimate objects, and visualizations. This service has five stages: problem identification, information processing and offered solutions, training material preparation, training implementation, and evaluation. From these five approaches, teachers as learning intermediaries in elementary schools need to improve learning methods and modules. In contrast, with the rapid advancement of technology, teachers need to be role models of learning for their students.

Abstract

Toxic relationships can manifest in various connections between partners, friends, colleagues, and even family members. These detrimental relationships have the potential to disrupt individuals' mental health, well-being, and productivity. Therefore, the government must implement substantial policies to address this issue and make individuals aware of its severity to mitigate negative stigmas. This research aims to assess how toxic relationships impact the mental health of first-semester students at the Faculty of Law, Suryakancana University. It is anticipated that the findings of this research will offer valuable insights for government development of preventive and intervention strategies. Additionally, this study seeks to raise public awareness regarding the significance of maintaining healthy relationships and the adverse effects of toxic relationships on mental health. Through this increased awareness, it is hoped that the stigma associated with mental health disorders will diminish, and individuals will be more inclined to seek assistance when needed. The research employs both qualitative and quantitative methods.

Abstract

Self-medication is an act of self-medicating a minor illness at home without being examined by a doctor. If done according to the rules, self-medication can be used to cure diseases, but if it is not according to the rules, it can be dangerous and waste time and money. Based on the results of the 2013 Riset Kesehatan Dasar, there are still households that provide hard drugs that should be obtained by prescription from a doctor, used for self-medication. The purpose of this activity is to increase the knowledge of Klub Jantung Sehat members regarding safe self-medication, namely the right medicine, the right dose, the right indication and the right target. The socialization activities were carried out after the gymnastics in the hall of Sirnagalih Village. The methods used are lectures, demonstrations and questions and answers. In addition, a tutorial is delivered on how to check drugs that have been registered with the Badan Pengawas Obat dan Makanan through the BPOM Product Check account. As a result of this outreach, all members of the Sirnagalih Village of Klub Jantung Sehat understand about safe drugs that can be used for self-medication at home. About 50% of the medicines used for self-medication turned out to be ethical drugs that should have been obtained by prescription from a doctor. On that occasion it was also conveyed that the drugs that were brought were not allowed to be consumed without a doctor's prescription.
