Abstract

Merak Belantung Village is one of the villages in Kalianda District, South Lampung Regency which has a variety of tourism potential. However, the current tourism potential of the village has not been optimally utilized by the local community. For this reason, efforts to realize an ecotourism village in Merak Belantung require assistance from academics by involving village community organizations. This is in line with the development of ecotourism villages based on community based tourism (CBT) which emphasizes the involvement of local community participation. This community service activity aims to increase the capacity of local communities in realizing ecotourism village destinations in Merak Belantung. The method of activities carried out includes socialization, counseling, mentoring, to providing equipment for pokdarwis. The socialization and counseling activities were attended by around 34 people consisting of elements of village apparatus and pokdarwis managers. Service activities by focusing on efforts to develop CBT-based ecotourism villages were carried out for the first time in Merak Belantung Village. The service participants looked enthusiastic and actively involved in every series of activities organized by the PkM team. During the outreach and socialization activities, the participants provided a lot of information about the tourism potential of their village. For this reason, the results of this service activity have also mapped the potential of Merak Belantung Village referring to the SWOT analysis and 7 Landscape Analysis. In addition, there is a high commitment among village officials and pokdarwis managers to focus on developing ecotourism villages in Merak Belantung. This service activity brings new understanding in efforts to develop ecotourism villages, especially the application of the CBT concept. For this reason, sustainable assistance is needed in realizing ecotourism village destinations in Merak Belantung Village.

Abstract

Village development is one of the main focuses of national development in line with the Nawacita program and the Village SDGs. In order to make villages independent, the government provides village funds that can be used for village progress. Every village has potential that can be developed optimally. Efforts are needed to identify the potential of the village as a whole. Therefore, the organization of this activity aims to increase the insight and capacity of the community in identifying the potential of an asset-based village or village based on community development in Dono Arum village, Seputih Agung District, Central Lampung Regency. Activities include training, focus group discussions (FGD), and assistance in identifying village potential and increasing institutional or community capacity. The method used in this service activity is the state analysis stage, object intervention, and evaluation or reflection. In particular, this community service activity has provided an overview to the local community on how to properly and correctly map village potentials. Provide an understanding of smart village-based village development. In addition, this activity refers to several achievements, including; the formation of a joint commitment between village government officials, institutions, and the community to focus on village development in the three potentials that characterize Dono Arum Village. The potentials that are the main focus include (1) the potential for natural resources, (2) the potential for human resources and technology, and (3) the tourism potential. This community empowerment activity has provided understanding and increased the capacity of the Dono Arum village community in mapping the potential of an asset-based village with a 4% increase in knowledge percentage.

Abstract

The community service activity entitled "Assistance in the Development of Ecotourism Village Based on Community Based Tourism (CBT) in Kiluan Negeri Village, Kelumbayan District, Tanggamus District, Lampung" is a follow-up to previous research that has been carried out by the community service team in 2022. Reflecting on the study, a community partnership empowerment program or Pemberdayaan Kemitraan Masyarakat was carried out with funding from the DRTPM of the Indonesian Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology related to the development of ecotourism villages in Kiluan Negeri Village. This community service aims to empower local communities in developing and managing ecotourism villages in Kiluan Negeri Village, covering aspects of skills, knowledge, and experience referring to the community-based tourism/CBT approach. In this community service, several methods of activities were combined, including socialization activities targeting civil servants and village institutional administrators by involving local communities. Then counseling and assistance for Kelompok Sadar Wisata or Pokdarwis administrators, to providing material/equipment assistance for Pokdarwis. The implementation of community service programs in Kiluan Negeri Village has been carried out thoroughly and received excellent support from all components of the village community. The results of the community service implementation show that there has been an increase in the knowledge and experience of local communities in managing the development of tourism villages. In this case, local communities have been equipped with skills in managing the potential of ecotourism villages in Kiluan Negeri Village referring to the CBT approach. The provision of supporting materials/tools for Pokdarwis equipment is also very beneficial in supporting the development of ecotourism villages in Kiluan Negeri. In the end, the presence of the community service team from University of Lampung brought a new understanding of the development of CBT-based ecotourism villages.
