Abstract

The threat of decreasing populations of Tor species continues to increase due to intensive fishing, habitat destruction and infrequent cultivation efforts. Monitoring of this group of fish must be carried out routinely to reveal the population conditions of fish. This research aims to reveal the population conditions of fish through an analytical approach to the length-weight relationship and fish otolith size. All fish samples were then taken for otoliths to measure their size and analyzed further using a scanning electron microscope (SEM). The research was conducted in the Tangkahan River, North Sumatra, Indonesia from January-March, 2023. The results showed that 43 samples of T. douronensis, 34 samples of T. tambra, and 24 samples of T. tambroides had b values of 2.853, 2.757, and 2.353, respectively. The b value in this study indicated that the fish had a negative allometric growth pattern. The size of the otoliths of the three Tor species shows that T. tambra has the highest length (the distance measured from the anterior to the posterior of the of sagitta otolith) on average reaching 9.31 mm, while T. tambroides and T. douronensis only reach 1.53 mm and 1.83 mm. The results were confirmed by ANOVA showing significant differences (P 0.05) in the mean value of otolith size based on Tor species, where the otolith size of T. tambra was significantly different compared to the other two species. The condition of Tor species in the Tangkahan River has experienced ecological pressure. This indication was concluded from the results of the analysis of the length-weight relationship of fish which showed b value 3 (negative allometric). The results show that the characteristics and size of the otoliths can differentiate Tor species and facilitate identification efforts related to management and conservation.Keywords:Habitat DestructionNegative AllometricAnterior of Sagitta OtolithPosterior of Sagitta Otolith

Abstract

This study aims to obtain a good concentration of IBA and plantain and is suitable for root induction in Dendrobium sp. The benefit of this study is to provide information about the successful root induction of orchid plantlets Dendrobium sp. In vitro culture and creating formulations using IBA hormones and organic plantain ingredients in in vitro culture media optimally. This research has been carried out at the YAHDI Plant Tissue Culture Laboratory. Rooting orchids Dendrobium sp. In vitro using MS basic media which was added with IBA (Indole 3 Butyric Acid) 0 ppm, 2 ppm, 4 ppm, and 6 ppm, and added with plantain pulp with levels of 0 g/l, 100 g/l. and 200 g/l. This study was a factorial experiment with 2 factors compiled based on a 4 x 3 Complete Random Design (RAL) with 12 treatment combinations. The data obtained was analyzed for variance analysis (ANOVA). If there are results that have a real effect, it is followed by the DMRT (Duncan Multiple Range Test) test at the level of 5%. (1) The results of the study showed that the treatment of the variables of the number of roots, plant height, and root length was influenced by IBA. (2) The treatment of the variables of the number of buds, the number of leaves, the number of roots, the height of the plant, and the length of the roots is influenced by plantains. (3) The treatment of the variables on the number of roots, root length, and leaf width were influenced by the interaction of IBA and banana pulp.

Abstract

Program Green School yang diterapkan Tim PKM melalui PKBM Laskar Pelangi bertujuan untuk memberdayakan anak-anak putus sekolah melalui pendidikan lingkungan hidup dan pelatihan keterampilan berbasis pertanian berkelanjutan. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan dengan pendekatan partisipatif dan berbasis pemberdayaan masyarakat, melalui tahapan persiapan, edukasi, pelatihan dan evaluasi. Evaluasi dilakukan melalui perbandingan nilai pretes dan postes untuk mengukur peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan dalam hal pertanian berkelanjutan dan produk POC siap pakai. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam pemahaman peserta, dari 37% menjadi 86%. Metode pembelajaran yang fleksibel, kontekstual, dan berbasis praktik terbukti efektif meningkatkan keterlibatan, kepercayaan diri, dan kesadaran ekologis peserta. Program ini tidak hanya memperkuat aspek ekonomi melalui pelatihan keterampilan, tetapi juga mendorong keadilan sosial dengan memberikan akses pendidikan nonformal yang inklusif, mendukung kelestarian lingkungan serta sustainable development.

Abstract

Indonesia menempati posisi ke 2 sebagai penyumbang sampah plastik ke laut. Hal ini juga diperkuat dengan meningkatnya timbunan sampah sebesar 74.808 ton ditahun 2025 di Kota Binjai, termasuk sampah organik dari limbah pertanian. Produksi tebu di Sumatera Utara 96% berasal dari Kabupaten Langkat yang secara tidak langsung juga menyumbang limbah. Lembaga Kesejahteraan Lanjut Usia (LKLU), tidak hanya sebagai lembaga perlindungan lanjut usia, juga sebagai penjaga warisan budaya dan lingkungan bukan hanya upacara adat tetapi berbagi pengalaman mengenai pengelolaan kebun tebu dan turunannya. Berbagai permasalahan seperti (a). Mitra belum menggali secara optimal potensi lokal (b). Minimnya pengetahuan mitra bahwa ampas tebu bisa diolah. (d). Mitra tidak tahu dampak plastik yang digunakan. (e). Mitra terbiasa mengelola sampah organik menjadi kompos, namun belum mengetahui bioplastik. Untuk memaksimalkan potensi tersebut, diadakan pelatihan berbasis kearifan lokal ampas tebu melalui tiga tahap edukasi, pelatihan/pendampingan dan evaluasi. Bahan dan alat yang sesuai mampu menghasilkan bioplastik yang layak dikembangkan. Terdapat peningkatan signifikan pengetahuan dan keterampilan peserta, ditunjukkan oleh kenaikan skor rata-rata dari 40% pada saat pretest menjadi 85% setelah pelatihan. Capaian ini mencerminkan Kegiatan ini berhasil memperkenalkan pemanfaatan limbah ampas tebu secara optimal menjadi produk inovatif dan ramah lingkungan berupa bioplastik.

Abstract

The Paluh Getah Mangrove Beach in Tanjung Rejo Village is a highly potential mangrove ecotourism site for carbon sequestration. This study aimed to assess the biomass content, carbon sequestration level, and comparative CO absorption in four mangrove leaf species (Avicennia marina, Excoecaria agallocha, Bruguiera gymnorhiza, and Ceriops tagal), as well as to analyze the effect of leaf thickness, width, and length on carbon uptake levels in Tanjung Rejo Village. Sampling was conducted at three stations determined using purposive sampling, each with three replications. Mangrove leaves were analyzed in the laboratory using the Walkley and Black method to determine carbon content. The results showed that Avicennia marina had the highest sequestration potential, followed by Bruguiera gymnorhiza, Ceriops tagal, and Excoecaria agallocha. Leaf length, width, and thickness measurements among the four species indicated variation in their CO absorption capacity.
