Abstract

This study analyzes effective communication in Buddhist Religious Education (BRE) learning during the Covid-19 pandemic at Bandar Agung Elementary School 4, Bandar Sribhawono Subdistrict. The study utilizes a qualitative approach and a case study method. Data is collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, which are then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman data analysis model. The research findings indicate that teachers use WhatsApp and video calls as communication channels for distance learning. Teachers also involve parents or family members of the students as communication intermediaries. Interactive teaching methods such as questioning, discussions, and lectures are employed. The study also identifies communication barriers such as limited internet access and technological proficiency. Teachers address these barriers by directly communicating with students and parents through home visits. This research highlights the importance of effective communication in BRE learning during the Covid-19 pandemic and the strategies used to overcome communication challenges.

Abstract

Effective social interaction is essential to everyday life, especially in an educational environment. Students of Jinarakkhita College of Lampung undergoing lectures need good speaking skills to interact with fellow students and related parties in the campus environment. This study aims to analyze the influence of speaking skills on student social interaction at STIAB Jinarakkhita Lampung. The research method used was a quantitative study using questionnaires distributed to the active student population on the campus. The results showed that the ability to speak significantly influenced the social interaction of students at STIAB Jinarakkhita Lampung. Students with good speaking skills tend to express their thoughts and ideas better clearly and in structure, facilitating effective communication in various social interaction situations. In addition, good speaking skills also affect students' ability to listen well and understand other people's perspectives. With good speaking skills, students can avoid misunderstandings and increase empathy for others, which in turn will strengthen healthy and harmonious social interactions in the campus environment. This research has important implications for academics and decision-makers at STIAB Jinarakkhita Lampung in designing strategies and activities to develop speaking skills for students. By improving speaking skills, it is hoped that social interaction on campus can be improved, create an inclusive environment, support each other, and contribute positively to students' educational experience at STIAB Jinarakkhita Lampung

Abstract

The purposes of this study is to investigate the difference of the students’ written communication autonomy after the implementation of scaffolding strategy. The sample is twenty students of the first-year semester of the undergraduate students of the Buddhist Communication Science Department in Jinarakkhita Buddhist College of Lampung. This research is quantitative by using one group pre-test posttest design. The instruments are writing test, questionnaire and interview. The result of data analysis shows that scaffolding strategy can further promote the students’ autonomy in written communication significantly. The result of the questionnaire shows that the students give the positive response towards applying scaffolding strategy in writing class. The conclusion of this present study, after the students are given scaffolding strategy, along with the improvement in written communication ability, the students’ autonomy in writing improves significantly.

Abstract

This research aims to investigate the influence of self-concept on the quality of interpersonal communication of Jinarakkhita Buddhist Collage of Lampung students. Self-concept is an important factor in understanding how a person interacts with other people. The quality of interpersonal communication also has a key role in establishing healthy and productive relationships in various life contexts. This research uses a survey method by collecting data through questionnaires distributed to Jinarakkhita Buddhist Collage of Lampung students. The questionnaire measures students' self-concept and quality of interpersonal communication. The collected data is then analyzed using appropriate statistical techniques. The results of this research indicate that there is a significant influence between self-concept and the quality of interpersonal communication of Jinarakkhita Buddhist Collage of Lampung students. These results indicate that students who have a positive self-concept tend to have better interpersonal communication quality. This indicates the importance of developing self-concept in the context of higher education to improve the quality of social interaction and interpersonal communication. This research can be a basis for educational institutions to consider programs that can help students develop a more positive self-concept, so that they can become more effective individuals in communicating and establishing healthy interpersonal relationships in the campus environment and outside the campus.

Abstract

Pengabdian kepada masyarakat adalah penerapan seni, budaya, teknologi, dan ilmu pengetahuan ke dalam masyarakat untuk membantu masyarakat tertentu dalam berbagai hal tanpa meminta imbalan. Pada tahun 2024, dosen Ilmu Komunikasi Buddha mengadakan kegiatan Pengajaran materi dasar dalam Bahasa Inggris pada siswa Sekolah Minggu Buddha di Vihara Metta Jaya Lampung Selatan. Tujuan dari pengajaran ini adalah untuk meningkatkan keterampilan bahasa Inggris siswa, terutama berbicara. Sumber daya manusia yang berkualitas diperlukan di tengah persaingan global yang semakin ketat. Kemampuan komunikasi internasional, terutama bahasa Inggris, adalah salah satunya. Pengajaran ini dihadiri langsung oleh 15 orang. Dalam pengajaran bahasa Inggris ini, teknik ceramah dan drill digunakan. Diharapkan bahwa pengajaran ini akan meningkatkan kepercayaan diri siswa dan mendorong mereka untuk berbicara dan mempraktekkan materi yang telah dibahas dalam percakapan sehari-hari.

Abstract

Seiring dengan perkembangan zaman dan meningkatnya tuntutan hidup, banyak individu yang mengalami stres, kecemasan, dan ketidakseimbangan emosional. Hal ini disebabkan oleh berbagai faktor seperti tekanan kerja, masalah pribadi, dan perubahan sosial yang cepat. Program Day of Mindfulness di Vihara Tri Wira Bhakti, Kabupaten Way Kanan, dengan 24 peserta. Program ini bertujuan meningkatkan keseimbangan diri melalui latihan mindfulness. Pengukuran keberhasilan dilakukan menggunakan pre-test dan post-test. Peningkatan ini mengindikasikan efektivitas program dalam membantu peserta mengenali dan mencapai keseimbangan diri. Penelitian ini menegaskan pentingnya mindfulness dalam meningkatkan kesehatan mental dan emosional peserta.

Abstract

Inovasi komunikasi dalam konseling keagamaan pada masa pandemi Covid-19 sangat diperlukan untuk mendukung tercapainya tujuan konseling keagamaan. Berbagai macam strategi komunikasi dapat digunakan sesuai dengan kebutuhan dan kondisi di lapangan. Pada masa pandemi virus corona, penerapannya sangat terbatas karena terhambat pembatasan sosial berskala besar (PSBB). Penelitian ini mimilih menggunakan Systematic Literature Review (SLR). Data yang diperoleh dari hasil dokumentasi dan kajian artikel terkait Komunikasi Penyuluh Keagamaan Kementerian Agama pada Masa Pandemi Covid-19 periode 2021-2022. Artikel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 9 artikel berdasarkan database Google Scholar yang disaring menggunakan aplikasi Publish or Perish. Berdasarkan penelitian ditemukan bahwa komunikasi penyuluh Agama pada masa pandemi Covid-19 memanfaatkan media baru sebagai perantara untuk menyampaikan pembinaan kepada masyarakat. Media baru yang digunakan antara lain Whatsapp, Whatsapp Group, Facebook, Instagram, media podcast dan live streaming, Youtube, dan juga. Selain itu, beberapa penyuluh juga mengadakan rapat terbatas dengan tetap memperhatikan protokol kesehatan.

Abstract

Krisis adalah kondisi sulit bagi sebuah organisasi atau perusahaan yang tidak dapat dihindari kapan datang dan seperti apa bentuk krisis tersebut. Praktik komunikasi krisis yang efektif, dilakukan oleh manajemen bakso A-fung dalam melakukan respon terkait pemberitaan viral yang terjadi memberikan gambaran bahwa penanganan krisis diperlukan langkah yang sistematis dalam proses pelaksanannya. Pada penelitian ini peneliti bertujuan untuk menganalisis bagaimana strategi management bakso A-fung dalam melaksanakan respon kejadian yang terjadi pada salah satu kedainya di bali. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif dengan menggunakan Teknik analisis berita framing dari beberapa kanal pemberitaan digital online yang merilis dan membahas terkait bagaimana respon manajemen A-fung dalam kasus tersebut. Hasil pada penelitian ini diperoleh dari beberapa framing media online disimpulkan bahwa manajemen bakso A-fung melakukan respon terhadap krisis yang tepat dan efektif dalam menghadapi pemberitaan viral terkait brand tersebut. Untuk menjaga kondisi dan mengembalikan kepercayaan konsumen yang tidak hanya merespon dan mengklarifikasi kasus yang ada, namun juga turut berperan aktif dalam melakukan langkah aksi nyata yang kemudian menjadi viral kembali pada pemberitaan kanal digital online
