Abstract

This study aimed to develop a detection instrument for reaction rate misconceptions in prospective chemistry teachers. A Two-Tier Multiple Choice (TTMC) test with ethnochemistry content and a virtual reality (VR) storyboard were designed as assessment tools. The research followed the ADDIE model within a research and development framework. Content validity was evaluated by material and media experts through a Focus Group Discussion (FGD), with 10 TTMC questions assessed for content, language, and presentation using the Aiken formula on a 1-4 rating scale. The TTMC instrument demonstrated strong content validity, with Aiken values ranging from 0.81 to 1.00. The VR storyboard also showed content validity, with Aiken values between 0.76 and 1.00, which is above the minimum acceptable limit. These results indicate that the TTMC test and VR storyboard are valid tools for detecting misconceptions in reaction rate material, offering valuable insights for chemistry education, particularly in teacher training programs.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a product in the form of Ethno-Vlog learning media for Class IV SD science learning as an effort to improve students' creative thinking skills. The Ethno-Vlog learning media contains Sisingaan and Gembyung dance with style and motion material content. This research uses the ADDIE development model (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). Thus the realization of the purpose of this research is to determine the feasibility test of the media, the practicality test, and the effectiveness of using Ethno-Vlog learning media. The development of learning media based on Ethno-Vlog Sisingaan and Gembyung dance for grade IV SD obtained the proper category from the two validators. The results of the student response questionnaire on the small-scale test were 90% and the response questionnaire from the teacher obtained 86% results indicating that learning media was very feasible to use. As for the effectiveness of using Ethno-Vlog-based learning media in improving creative thinking skills, the results are 0.60 in the moderate or effective category. The media is following the objectives of learning practices in the Independent Curriculum as well as efforts to shape the character of students and develop creative thinking skills contained in one of the dimensions of the Pancasila learner profile.

Abstract

Problem solving skills need to be developed so that students can compete with the rapid advances in technology and science. The purpose of this study was to find the improvement and response of students after the application of the STEM-based Problem Based Learning (PBL) model on Ecology and Biodiversity material on students' problem solving skills. The research method used is quantitative with quasi experiment. The research subjects were students of class VII G as the experimental class and class VII H as the control class. The results of the study were STEM-based Problem Based Learning (PBL) on ecology and biodiversity material proved effective in improving students' problem solving skills, based on the results of the Mann-Whitney test which showed a significant difference between the experimental and control classes. The conclusion in this study is that the STEM-based Problem Based Learning (PBL) model effectively improves problem solving skills in ecology and biodiversity materials. Problem solving skills need to be developed so that students can compete with the rapid advances in technology and science.

Abstract

The increasing complexity of biological concepts and the growing demand for twenty-first-century competencies require innovative learning resources that support both conceptual understanding and collaborative learning. This study aimed to analyze the needs of teachers and students regarding the development of a Biology e-module integrating Deep Learning and Project-Based Learning (DL-PjBL). A descriptive mixed-methods design was employed within the Analysis phase of the ADDIE framework. Participants consisted of 30 senior high school students and one Biology teacher selected through convenience sampling. Data were collected using a student needs questionnaire, classroom observations, and semi-structured interviews. Quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, while qualitative data were examined through thematic analysis. The findings revealed a strong need for innovative digital learning materials, with 93.3% of students expressing the need for interactive e-modules and 83.3% reporting difficulties in understanding abstract Biology concepts. Furthermore, classroom observations indicated limited collaborative interaction, fragmented conceptual understanding, and a predominance of teacher-centered learning practices. Interview findings confirmed the need for learning resources that combine authentic project activities with reflective and meaningful learning experiences. The convergence of quantitative and qualitative findings suggests that a DL-PjBL-based Biology e-module has substantial potential to address existing pedagogical challenges by fostering collaboration and facilitating deeper conceptual understanding. This study provides an empirical foundation for the subsequent design and development of digital instructional materials that align with contemporary educational demands and support meaningful Biology learning.

Abstract
