Abstract

The purpose of this research is to determine the effect of the Discovery learning model in Civics material on the critical thinking abilities of fifth grade students. The research uses quantitative methods with the discovery learning model. The Quantitative method is research that uses a lot of numbers, starting from the data collection process to its interpretation. This research was carried out in class V of the Gombak Selangor Malaysia DICTIONARY Learning Studio. using a population of 8 students who were also used as samples. This sampling technique uses a saturated sampling technique, where this technique makes the entire population the sample. The results of data analysis after the t-test data on pretest and posttest scores showed that from the 8 samples obtained an average score of 76.60 with a standard deviation of 10.784 and the average posttest score was 87.25 with a standard deviation of 6.798. After testing the hypothesis the tailed sig value is 0.000 < 0.05, a decision can be made that Ha is accepted. In other words, the discovery learning learning model in PKN learning has an influence on class V students of the KAMUS Study Studio, North Gombak, Selangor, Malaysia.

Abstract

Kecerdasan emosional merupakan kemampuan penting yang membantu individu mengelola emosi dan membangun hubungan interpersonal yang sehat. Upaya peningkatan kecerdasan emosional melalui teknik assertive dilakukan untuk membantu siswa kelas 2 dalam mengembangkan keterampilan komunikasi yang efektif dan mengurangi konflik sosial di lingkungan sekolah. Penelitian ini bertujuan Untuk meningkatkan kecerdasan emosional melalui teknik assertive pada siswa kelas 2 SMA Tarkeeyahtul Ummah School Thailand. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian Eksperimen, dengan desain Pre Eksperimen (pretest - perlakuan- posttest). Hasil pre-test menunjukkan rata-rata subjek penelitian 85,5 memiliki tingkat kecerdasan emosional yang Low Average (dibawah rata-rata), dan hasil posttest menunjukkan rata-rata subjek penelitian 110 memiliki tingkat kecerdasan emosional yang Average ( rata-rata).Hasil analisis uji t untuk menguji perbedaan rata-rata data pretest dan posttest dk = 6, α = 0,05 di peroleh t (hitung) = 11, 9598 > t (table)= 1, 94318, disimpulkan ada perbedaan secara signifikan rata-rata skor pretes dengan Rata-rata skor postes. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara tingkat kecerdasan emosional siswa sebelum dan sesudah diberikan teknik assertive training. Kesimpulan meningkatnya tingkat kecerdasan emosional siswa kelas 2 SMA Tarkeeyahtul Ummah school Thailand dari kategori Law Average menjadi kategori Average melalui kegiatan layanan teknik assertive.

Abstract

Social Media platforms have shaped diverse linguistic issues through informal language use, language adaptation and change, linguistic creativity and global communication. The current study reveals the issues about investigating about language style and linguistic form of solidarity expression used by the millennial community on social media platforms. Thirty respondents who aged about 23-43 years old considered as millennial participated in this study and inquired through open-ended questionnaire.  The data was probed by using grounded theory proposed by Creswell. The findings exposed that language style were realized for certain communication purposes and based-social context oriented, solidarity expression was shown through a different linguistic form to reveal ideas, feeling, empathy, caring, respect, moral justice and kinds of arguments. after deeply investigated, there were four types of language styles that are dominantly used by millennial on this social media platform, namely formal language style, informal language style, slang language style and colloquial language style, unfortunately, many people abuse social media as a platform for venting their anger and their disappointment by using disrespectful language and behaviors are frequently observed online. Consequently, this scholarly paper also provides advice on the user of social media platform must possess a range of skills including linguistic knowledge, sociocultural knowledge, and the ability to use language in appropriate ways depending on the specific communicative context.

Abstract

Ice breaking dalam pembelajaran, dapat secara integratif atau secara khusus diberikan dalam sela atau jeda dalam proses pembelajaran. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dengan tujuan mengetahui pengaruh penerapan ice breaking terhadap pembelajaran dalam menarik minat dan efektivitas siswa di sanggar bimbingan belajar Muhammadiyah Kampung Bharu Malaysia. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu penelitian Lapangan (Field Research). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ice breaking memberikan dampak yang baik untuk anak dalam mengikuti proses pembelajaran. Hal ini diketahui melalui: Pertama, Ice breaking dapat membantu membangun kepercayaan diri, memperkuat hubungan antar siswa, mengurangi kecanggungan, dan menciptakan lingkungan yang positif untuk pembelajaran atau kerjasama lebih lanjut. Kedua, Ice breaking menghilangkan rasa bosan. Ketiga, Menarik minat anak. Keempat, meningkatkan efektifitas pembelajaran.

Abstract

The challenges brought by Covid-19 have threatened not only the economy and health fields but also the educational sectors. In light of education, this issue has led to the swift migration of the learning process from conventional mode to online learning which has resulted in another bottleneck. The current study explores the perception of EFL Indonesian college students about the challenges and benefits of learning speaking through the online system during the Covid-19 outbreak. Forty-five college students participated in this study and were inquired through a semi-structured questionnaire in the weeks following the final term examinations for the academic year 2020-2021. The data was probed by using grounded theory proposed by Creswell. The findings exposed that effectiveness, online benefits, and improvement opportunities were the benefits obtained by students from the online learning. Meanwhile, distraction and information overload, a technical error in online learning technology and internet connectivity matters as well as limited interaction and inadequate support were hindrances that often hampered the students.  Consequently, this scholarly paper also provides advice on the essence of the readiness of adequate facilities and the collaboration from stakeholders; government, teachers, students, and parents to successfully implement online learning.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berhitung dalam penjumlahan dan pengurangan peserta didik kelas II UPT SDN 060857 dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran PBL. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian tindakan kelas model Kemmis dan Mc Taggart. Model ini terdiri dari empat tahapan yaitu perencanaan (planning), tindakan (acting), pengamatan (observing), dan refleksi (reflecting). Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini dilakukan dengan memberikan tes untuk mengukur pencapaian siswa setelah mengikuti proses pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan PBL pada pembelajaran matematika dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berhitung peserta didik kelas II UPT SDN 060857. Hal ini terlihat dari rata-rata hasil evaluasi peserta didik pada kegiatan prasiklus sebesar 44,23 poin dan persentasi peserta didik yang tuntas sebesar 58,97%. Terjadi peningkatan pada siklus I dengan rata-rata peserta didik sebesar 54,23 poin dan persentase sebesar 72,30%. Pada siklus II, rata-rata nilai peserta didik meningkat menjadi 80,76 poin dan persentasenya sebesar 89,74%.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze students' creativity in designing comics using the Project Based Learning (PjBL) learning model at the Kepong Learning Studio, Malaysia. Student creativity is evaluated based on 3 aspects, namely originality, flexibility and elaboration in designing comics. The research method used is descriptive qualitative, with data collection techniques through observation, interviews and documentation. The research results show that the application of the PjBL model has a positive impact on the development of student creativity. Students are more active in exploring ideas, producing more innovative comic designs, and improving critical thinking and collaboration skills in completing projects. The main supporting factor is the use of project-based methods which encourage students to be more independent in the learning process. However, researchers also found several obstacles, such as limited technical skills in drawing and using digital design applications. The conclusion of this research confirms that PjBL is effective in increasing students' creativity in designing comics. The recommendation from this research is the systematic application of the PjBL method and increased guidance in the use of digital design technology to support the development of student creativity.

Abstract

Permasalahan Penelitian ini adalah rendahnya keterampilan psikomotorik siswa SD. Dalam rangka pemecahan masalah diperlukan yang sesuai dengan tujuan meningkatkan keterampilan psikomotorik siswa khususnya keterampilan kinerja selama  dalam proses pembelajaran. Tujuan utama penelitian untuk mengetahui Efektivitas Modul Ajar Bigbook Etnosains Panganan Pulut Khas Sumatera Utara terhadap Keterampilan Psikomotorik Siswa SD di  Kampung Bharu Kuala Lumpur Malaysia. Penelitian ini menerapkan pendekatan kuantitatif dan menerapkan metode eksperimen, pengumpulan data penelitian ini ialah performance test. Penelitian ini menggunakan sampel jenuh. Sampel penelitian yaitu 8 siswa kelas VI Sanggar Bimbingan Kampung Bharu. Sementara teknik analisis data adalah uji expert judgement dan uji hipotesis. Data yang diperoleh menggunakan uji hipotesis untuk memberikan efektivitas yang akan diterapkan. Diketahui akibat uji statistik menyatakan bahwa nilai sig (2-tailed) 0,000 yang lebih kecil  dari 0,05. Fakta ini telah diterima dan juga tidak diterima. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan  Modul Ajar Bigbook Etnosains Panganan Pulut Khas Sumatera Utara mempunyai pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap Keterampilan Psikomotorik Siswa SD di Sanggar Bimbingan Kampung Bharu Kuala Lumpur Malaysia. The problem of this research is the low psychomotor skills of elementary school students. In order to solve the problem, it is necessary to be in accordance with the aim of improving students' psychomotor skills, especially performance skills during the learning process. The main objective of the study was to determine the effectiveness of the Teaching Module of the Ethnoscience Bigbook Pulut Food Typical of North Sumatra on the Psychomotor Skills of Elementary Students in Kampung Bharu Kuala Lumpur Malaysia. This research applies a quantitative approach and applies experimental methods, this research data collection is performance test. This study used a saturated sample. The research sample was 8 grade VI students of the Kampung Bharu Guidance Studio. While the data analysis technique is expert judgment test and hypothesis testing. The data obtained using hypothesis testing to provide the effectiveness to be applied. It is known that the result of the statistical test states that the sig (2-tailed) value is 0.000 which is smaller than 0.05. This fact has been accepted and also not accepted. Thus, it can be concluded that the Teaching Module of Ethnoscience Bigbook Panganan Pulut Typical of North Sumatra has a significant influence on the Psychomotor Skills of Elementary Students in Guidance Studio Kampung Bharu Kuala Lumpur Malaysia

Abstract

This study aims to improve the understanding of multiplication concepts among second-grade students at SDN 060857 Medan through the use of a concrete instructional medium called the Multiplication Board, which integrates local cultural elements. The background of the research highlights the students’ low comprehension of basic multiplication concepts, as shown by the pre-cycle results where only 25% of students achieved mastery. This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) using the Kemmis and McTaggart model, conducted in two cycles. Each cycle consisted of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. The subjects of the study were 16 second-grade students. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and learning outcome tests. The results showed a significant increase in students’ understanding. Mastery learning rose from 25% in the pre-cycle to 43% in Cycle I, and then to 93% in Cycle II. These findings indicate that the Multiplication Board was effective in helping students understand multiplication concepts in a meaningful and contextual way. It also enhanced student engagement and interest in learning mathematics.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the basic addition skills of Grade 1 elementary school students through the use of stacked addition board media. The background of this research is the low understanding of students regarding the concept of addition, as indicated by the learning evaluation results, with a mastery percentage of only 35%. The study was conducted in Grade 1 of UPT SDN 060857 Medan using the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method, which consisted of two cycles. In Cycle I, the use of lecture methods and written exercises did not provide satisfactory results, with a mastery percentage of 65%. Therefore, in Cycle II, improvements were made by implementing stacked addition board media combined with visual videos. The research results showed a significant improvement, with the mastery percentage reaching 90% in Cycle II. The use of stacked addition board media has proven to be effective in helping students understand the concept of addition gradually and in an enjoyable manner. This media not only enhances students' understanding but also increases their engagement and enthusiasm in the learning process.
