Abstract

This study addresses the critical issue of sustainability and CO2 emissions in the plastic manufacturing sector, focusing on the transition from hydraulic to electric injection molding systems. The research is based on a case study of PT. RPI Indonesia, which replaced 21 hydraulic injection molding machines with more efficient alternatives. A quantitative methodology was employed, collecting energy consumption and CO2 emissions data before and after the transition. The findings reveal a significant reduction in energy consumption, approximately 25%, leading to a decrease in CO2 emissions from 5,191.5 tons to 1,934.8 tons annually. This transition not only mitigates environmental impacts but also aligns with global sustainability initiatives. The study concludes that adopting advanced injection molding technologies enhances operational efficiency and contributes significantly to sustainability goals in the plastic manufacturing industry. Future research should explore long-term outcomes of such transitions and further strategies to improve sustainability.

Abstract

MSMEs in Tangerang’s Regency has a crucial role in boosting local economic growth, but it also has challenges in boosting operational competitiveness in a dynamic marketplace. This study aims to analyse the impact of Human Resource Management (HRM) quality and production technology on MSMEs operational day, using market flexibility as a mediating variable. This study employs a quantitative approach using the Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) method based on SmartPLS. File is gathered through questionnaires given to 200 MSMEs participants in the Tangerang province. The results of the data analysis indicate that SDM quality has a positive and significant impact on market adaptability (t-statistik = 6,134; p < 0,001) and operational daya saing (t-statistik = 5,221; p < 0,001). Additionally, production technology has a significant impact on market adaptability (t-statistik = 4,987; p < 0,001) and operational competitiveness (t-statistik = 4,653; p < 0,001). The market's ability to adapt significantly demonstrates the relationship between the two bebas variables and the day-to-day operations of MSMEs (t-statistik = 3,874; p < 0,001).This study highlights the importance of Human Resource development and adaptable production technology for the market in boosting MSMEs competitiveness in Tangerang province.

Abstract

The development of the business world continues to increase along with the large number of requests for products needed, so it is important for companies to create optimal planning strategies, both production planning and demand planning, so that companies are able to achieve their targeted goals. To achieve company goals, one of the company's activities is to carry out forecasting related to the number of sales or consumer demand for the goods or services produced. PT. XYZ is a developing company whose production results are superior and certified educational toys for children. The analysis used in forecasting is a single 2 period and 3 period moving average method as well as a weighted moving average with weightings of 50,20,30 and 50,25,25. The aim of this research is, firstly, to find out the sales forecasting of playgo type children's educational toys and secondly to find out the most accurate sales forecasting method. The research results show that the method with the smallest error value is the Weight Moving Average method with weightings of 50, 20, 30, where the Mean Absolute Error (MAE) value is 570, the Mean Square Error (MSE) is 447,036, and the Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE) of 1.97%.

Abstract

This study investigates how the Sinar Mutiara SMM in the Karang Serang Village  uses the Blocplan to create a working layout. The aim is to improve operational efficiency by optimizing the configuration of working components such as machines and equipment. The Blocplan method is used to analyze data collected from SMEs through observations and interviews. Research results show that using the Blocplan effectively reduces material distances and production time, and also improves space usage. It is hoped that this implementation will be an example for other SMEs to improve efficiency and productivity. In addition, research finds problems such as adaptation to change and resource constraints. For successful implementation in the future, this issue needs to be addressed.

Abstract

The lean approach is often used by manufacturing companies to increase productivity in the production area. In this case PT P, a manufacturing company that produces refrigerators, faces the same problem on the unloading process in the final assembly area. The unloading process is the operation to move the finished product from the production line and store it in the finished goods warehouse. Operators in the unloading area have tasks to unload finished products from conveyors which are connected directly from the assembly line and placing them on pallets. Due to the refrigerator is quite heavy a forklift has to use to move the full pallet to the finished goods warehouse which is located next to the unloading area. Once finished the forklift returns to the unloading area with the empty pallets and places them in the unloading area, to be refilled by the unloading operator. Based on the data taken, the cycle time in the unloading process was recorded to be varied and the highest was 33 seconds, exceeding the takt time that had been determined on the production line, which was 24 seconds. This means that there is waste that occurs in the unloading area. The long and unstable cycle time in the unloading process makes the production line disrupted because the conveyor often stops and causes productivity to drop. For this reason, it is necessary to analyze and improve the process with the Lean concept by reducing the existing waste, so that the cycle time becomes stable and smaller than the takt time.
