Abstract

Health screening is present as a step that is not only important, but also very strategic in efforts to prevent and detect non-communicable diseases early. Not only that, this step can also contribute to reducing the burden of disease in society as a whole. By addressing health problems from an early stage, it is hoped that there will be a decrease in morbidity and mortality rates related to these diseases, as well as optimization of health resources in the community. Cholesterol, Uric Acid and Blood Sugar Level Screening Activities in the Aisyiah Group with Risk Factors Health screening activities were carried out on October 8, 2024 at One of the Aisyiah in Sidoarjo City. This activity was attended by 50 members of the Aisyiah Group who had risk factors for metabolic diseases. The purpose of the activity Routine health checks are very important for early detection of metabolic diseases such as diabetes, high cholesterol, and uric acid. The results of this community service show a fairly high prevalence of metabolic disorders in the Aisyiah Group who have these risk factors. These findings underscore the importance of special attention to metabolic health in this community. Metabolic disorders, such as type 2 diabetes and metabolic syndrome, can have serious long-term health impacts if not managed properly. This health screening activity successfully detected a number of Aisyiah Group members who had risk factors for metabolic diseases. This proves the importance of routine health checks as an effort for early detection and prevention of disease.

Abstract

Objective: To analyze a comprehensive summary of the article on the Effectiveness of the Prone Position as the Management of Hypoxemia in Covid-19 patients . Methods: Literature review of the journal Effectiveness of the Prone Position as the management of Hypoxemia in Covid-19 patients. Search articles via the internet with databases: Proquest, PubMed, Science Direct. With Population Covid-19, Intervention Prone Position, Outcome Management Hypoxemia. The review was carried out by 10 articles starting from 2019-2020, the full English text was then synthesized using a literature review table. Results: The effectiveness of prone position in patients with mild to moderate hypoxemia is recommended to do prone position by maintaining the position for 3 hours a day. Prone position can be done gradually with 2 hours in the morning, 2 hours in the afternoon, and 6 hours at night, with a total prone position time of 10–14 hours / day, taking into account the patient's tolerance or condition. Prone position is carried out in conjunction with other treatment measures, and does not affect the implementation of other treatments Conclusion: The Covid-19 emergency makes the need for oxygenation very important to overcome hypoxemia so that oxygen demand increases along with the increase in Covid-19 patients, with the prone position this can help minimize oxygenation needs in Covid-19 patients.

Abstract

Introduction: Mortality among ICU patients remains high and is influenced by multiple factors, including nutritional status. Malnutrition may worsen clinical outcomes and increase the risk of death. This study aimed to examine the relationship between nutritional status and mortality in ICU patients. Method: A retrospective correlational study was conducted among adult patients (≥18 years) admitted to the ICU of a hospital in Surabaya between May and December 2023. A total of 185 patients were selected using a total sampling technique. Nutritional status was assessed using Malnutrition Universal Screening Tool (MUST) scores and disease severity was measured using APACHE II. Mortality outcomes were determined based on patient status at ICU discharge and categorized into predefined mortality risk levels. Data were analyzed using the Spearman rank correlation test. Results: Increasing age was significantly associated with higher mortality, with patients aged >65 years showing the highest proportion of high mortality (55.2%; r = 0.62; p < 0.001). Gender was also significantly associated with mortality (r = 0.21; p = 0.041), with males demonstrating a higher proportion of high mortality than females (40.4% vs 29.6%). Nutritional status showed a moderate positive correlation with mortality (r = 0.55; p < 0.001), with higher malnutrition risk associated with increased mortality. Conclusion: Nutritional status is significantly associated with mortality among ICU patients. Early nutritional assessment and appropriate management are essential to improve clinical outcomes and support evidence-based critical care practice.

Abstract

The partner targeted by this Community Partnership Program is SD Kreatif Muhammadiyah 01 Lumajang, located in a disaster-prone area that requires further intervention. This has become a crisis situation for SD Kreatif Muhammadiyah 01 Lumajang, which can disrupt the welfare of teachers and students, resulting in anxiety and fear of natural disasters. This service aims to provide a new atmosphere and spirit in disaster mitigation learning, which will be implemented with SIMA-DIGI based on Virtual Reality in accordance with the needs of digital-based education by creating a SIMA-DIGI application based on Virtual Reality for disaster mitigation. The methods used to carry out the activities are in the form of discussions, mentoring, and training. The training, which was conducted over one week, effectively increased participants' knowledge and changed their attitudes. This was evidenced by the pre-test results, which showed that 25 students had a low level of knowledge (62.5%), 10 students had a moderate level of knowledge (25%), and 5 students had a high level of knowledge (12.5%). However, after receiving counseling and training using the SIMA DIGI Design Application, the post-test results showed a significant increase, including a drastic rise in the level of knowledge related to disaster mitigation to 87.5%. Thus, it is hoped that with the level of knowledge possessed by the students, awareness and preparedness for disasters that may occur at SD Kreatif Muhammadiyah 01 Lumajang can be improved..
