Abstract

Research has been carried out with the title Identification of the Presence of Bacteria in Sambal Lalapan in Cigombong Kotaraja at the Biology Laboratory of Cenderawasih University Jayapura using samples of sambal lalapan. This research was conducted for 3 months starting from April 23, 2022 to June 6, 2022. The purpose of this study was to determine the presence of bacteria in sambal lalapan in Cigombong Kotaraja. The type of research used in this study is descriptive with a laboratory approach to identify the presence or absence of bacteria in chili sauce in Cigombong Kotaraja. The population used in this study were all fresh chili sauce sellers in Cigombong Kotaraja. The number of samples in this study were 5 samples (total population). The research method used is descriptive method by means of microscopy. To determine the presence or absence of bacteria in sambal lalapan in Cigombong Kotaraja, analyzed by Colony Counter and Microscope by planting on Sodium Agar (NA) media and Gram staining and obtained the results of 5 samples (100%) of sambal lalapan all positive for bacterial contamination with Bacil bacterial cell shape, Gram Negative, Red in color.

Abstract

Pregnant women are people who are in the process of fertilization to continue offspring. In the body of a pregnant woman, there is a fetus that grows in the womb. Pregnancy is an important period of life. A pregnant woman must prepare herself well so as not to cause problems with the health of the mother, baby, and during the birth process. The purpose of this study was to determine the results of syphilis examination in pregnant women at the Dosay Health Center. This type of research is a laboratory test with Rapid TP. The population used in this study were all pregnant women patients who came to check themselves at the Dosay Health Center. The number of samples in this study was 34 patients. The method of examining Syphilis in pregnant women at the Dosay Health Center is the Immunochromatographic method. the research time took place from June 14 to June 30, 2022, with the research location at the Dosay Health Center Laboratory. Based on the results of analysis and discussion, it can be concluded that of the 34 pregnant women respondents (100%) there were 4 respondents (11.8%) infected with syphilis (Treponema pallidum bacteria).

Abstract

Voluntary blood donors are people who voluntarily donate their blood to other people and not to certain patients. Before blood is given to the recipient, a blood filter test or screening test is carried out. A screening test is a process of screening or separating blood that can be transfused and not infected with an infectious disease. Research has been conducted with the title Infectious Disease Screening Results and Hemoglobin (Hb) Levels in Voluntary Donors at the Indonesian Red Cross Blood Transfusion Unit, Jayapura City. This research was conducted for 1 month, from 13 May to 15 June 2019. The population used in this study were all voluntary donors who came to donate blood. The number of samples in this study was 45 samples. Methods for examining infectious diseases, in this case testing for HIV, HBsAg, and hemoglobin levels used were the ELISA method and Bj: 1.053 copper sulfate. 2 people (4.4%) were positive and 43 people (95.6%) negative, HBsAg test found 7 people (15.6%) positive and 38 people (84.4%) negative and Hemoglobin obtained results as many as 45 people (100%) normal.

Abstract

Kidney failure is a worldwide health problem seen from the increase in incidence, prevalence, and the level of morbidity. Indonesia is one country with high rates of kidney failure. The purpose of this research was to determine the description of the results of urea and creatinine levels in patients with kidney failure before and after hemodialysis. The population used in this study was all renal failure patients who would carry out hemodialysis at the Jayapura Regional General Hospital (RSUD). The number of samples in this research is 30. The method of examining urea and creatinine used is the photometry method. This research was conducted from 10 May to 10 June 2018. To determine the levels of urea and creatinine before and after hemodialysis, the average value of the results of the examination was calculated and the results of the average urea level before hemodialysis 53.37 mg/dl and the average yield were obtained. Average after hemodialysis 18.83 mg/dl. The results of the average creatinine level of patients before 12.25 mg/dl and the average results after hemodialysis were 43.63 mg/dl. The results of the examination showed that there were no significant differences and that the results remained high. This research concluded that there was no significant difference between the examination of urea and creatinine levels before hemodialysis and after hemodialysis.

Abstract

Water is the main composition in the body, the amount of water content contained in the body is about 50-80%, depending on age, most of the human body consists of fluids, so the body really needs adequate fluid intake. This fluid intake is obtained from drinking water and food. Based on a survey conducted, the physical appearance of community dug well water in Warbo village Arso 7, West Arso district, is generally cloudy, smelly in colour and quite high in lime. This service aims to provide training to the Warbo village community so that they can use a dug well water purification tool and can use clean water. The method used in this service is the direct partner participation method, which explains the sequence of how the filter is connected to the daft machine or pump. The results of the service activities carried out on May 2024 were attended by 12 people. After a week of installing the filter, the people who became the sample or who were selected to receive filter assistance felt happy because the well water they used was no longer coloured, smelled, and cloudy.

Abstract

This study was entitled HIV Examination in prisoner patients referred to Bhayangkara Hospital TK II Jayapura City. The purpose of this study was to determine HIV infection in serum samples of inmate patients. This type of research is descriptive with a laboratory test approach. This study was conducted for 3 months starting from October 15, 2024 to January 15, 2025. The population and the number of samples used were all inmate patients who conducted examinations at the Bhayangkara TK II Jayapura City Hospital and the number of samples used in this study were 30 samples. The sample used is the serum of inmate patients. The examination method used is the Rapid Diagnostic Test Antibody Method using the Rapid Test tool ViroChek HIV 1/2 brand. The results showed that HIV testing in inmate patients from 30 samples showed Reactive results as many as 3 samples (10%) and 27 (90%) Non Reactive.

Abstract

Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) is a virus that attacks white blood cells and causes the human immune system to decrease. Tuberculosis in HIV patients is an opportunistic infection that will aggravate the disease infection in patients. Examination of HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) in Tuberculosis Patients was carried out at the Kotaraja Health Center. This study was conducted for 1 month starting from May 17, 2019, to June 07, 2019. The purpose of this study was to determine HIV in tuberculosis patients at the Kotaraja Health Center. This type of research is descriptive with a laboratory test approach. The sample used is a serum sample with a diagnosis of HIV. The method used in this examination is the Rapid Test method. The results of HIV testing on tuberculosis patients, sample data obtained from HIV tuberculosis co-infected respondents amounted to 30 HIV respondents who  took  tuberculosis  treatment >6-9 months, negative 6 patients (20%).

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a disease caused by high blood sugar levels due to impaired insulin secretion. Prolonged treatment and therapy carried out by Diabetes Mellitus patients allows damage to the liver, marked by the results of the examination of Serum Glutamic Oxalate Transminase (SGOT) and Serum Glutamic Pyruvit Transminase (SGPT) that are not normal. The purpose of this study was to determine the levels of SGOT, SGPT levels and the number of leukocytes in patients with diabetes mellitus at the Wamena Regional General Hospital, Jayawijaya Regency. This research was conducted from March 13 to June 13, 2019. This type of research is a laboratory test. The population used in this study was Diabetes Mellitus sufferers who conducted an examination at the Wamena Regional General Hospital, Jayawijaya Regency. The samples used were serum and EDTA blood of patients with diabetes mellitus. The method of examining serum glutamic oxalate transminase and serum levels of gltamic pyruvit transminase using Sysmex BX-3010 and the number of leukocytes using the Hematology analyzer Mindray BC-3000 method. The results showed that from a total of 30 patients (100%) the samples studied were 25 SGOT and SGPT normal levels (25%), and were found to have increased SGOT and SGPT levels by 5 patients (16%), while the normal Leukocyte count was 25 patients (84%) and the number of leukocytes increased by 10 patients (34%).

Abstract

One environmental disease that is a public health concern is worm infection. Soil-transmitted helminths (STH) are a type of worm infection caused by various types of intestinal worms that spread through the soil. The purpose of this study was to determine the presence or absence of intestinal worm eggs in nail clippings from public elementary school students in Jayapura City. This study is descriptive in nature with a laboratory test approach. This study was conducted at the Microbiology Laboratory, Faculty of Health Sciences, Jayapura University of Science and Technology, from March 1, 2025, to June 1, 2025. The population in this study was all students attending public elementary schools in Jayapura City. The samples used in this study were nail clippings from elementary school students, which were examined using the flotation method on samples emulsified in a saturated NaCl solution, followed by microscopic identification. The results showed that of the 32 samples (100%) examined, 6 samples (18.75%) were positive for intestinal worm eggs, including 3 samples (9.37%) of Ascaris lumbricoides eggs (fertile) and Ascaris lumbricoides eggs (unfertile) in 3 samples (9.37%), and negative results without intestinal nematode eggs in 26 samples (81.25%).

Abstract

Vaccination is the process of administering vaccines by injection into the body or dripping into the mouth to increase the production of antibodies to ward off certain diseases. The implementation of this community service activity uses several methods, namely: the presentation method, this method was chosen to explain the importance of vaccination. Question and answer method, this method is very important to find out the insight of the people in Yanamaa Arso Pir 1 village, Keerom Regency regarding COVID-19 vaccination during the current pandemic. In addition, Sharing Session on COVID-19 vaccination was also carried out. Sharing session are given to the community in providing input and guidance for the material obtained. This activity will be held on November 19, 2021. The results of this service show that the people in Yanamaa Arso Pir 1 Village, Keerom Regency are very enthusiastic about participating in the activity from beginning to end.
