Abstract

Along with the advancement of science in the health sector, biology teachers in high school must understand microbiology, especially have the ability to provide practicum to students so that students have the ability in the field of microbiology. The low understanding of students about microbiology subjects is due to the absence of microbiology practicum in high school. This service is carried out by giving a pre test, skills training and mentoring to teachers so that their knowledge increases. From the results of the service, it is known that knowledge and skills of the teachers increased and already understood and understood the microbiology practicum instruments.

Abstract

Research has been carried out with the title Identification of the Presence of Bacteria in Sambal Lalapan in Cigombong Kotaraja at the Biology Laboratory of Cenderawasih University Jayapura using samples of sambal lalapan. This research was conducted for 3 months starting from April 23, 2022 to June 6, 2022. The purpose of this study was to determine the presence of bacteria in sambal lalapan in Cigombong Kotaraja. The type of research used in this study is descriptive with a laboratory approach to identify the presence or absence of bacteria in chili sauce in Cigombong Kotaraja. The population used in this study were all fresh chili sauce sellers in Cigombong Kotaraja. The number of samples in this study were 5 samples (total population). The research method used is descriptive method by means of microscopy. To determine the presence or absence of bacteria in sambal lalapan in Cigombong Kotaraja, analyzed by Colony Counter and Microscope by planting on Sodium Agar (NA) media and Gram staining and obtained the results of 5 samples (100%) of sambal lalapan all positive for bacterial contamination with Bacil bacterial cell shape, Gram Negative, Red in color.

Abstract

Pregnant women are people who are in the process of fertilization to continue offspring. In the body of a pregnant woman, there is a fetus that grows in the womb. Pregnancy is an important period of life. A pregnant woman must prepare herself well so as not to cause problems with the health of the mother, baby, and during the birth process. The purpose of this study was to determine the results of syphilis examination in pregnant women at the Dosay Health Center. This type of research is a laboratory test with Rapid TP. The population used in this study were all pregnant women patients who came to check themselves at the Dosay Health Center. The number of samples in this study was 34 patients. The method of examining Syphilis in pregnant women at the Dosay Health Center is the Immunochromatographic method. the research time took place from June 14 to June 30, 2022, with the research location at the Dosay Health Center Laboratory. Based on the results of analysis and discussion, it can be concluded that of the 34 pregnant women respondents (100%) there were 4 respondents (11.8%) infected with syphilis (Treponema pallidum bacteria).

Abstract

Helminth infections in children are generally caused by Soil Transmitted Helminth (STH) worm groups, namely Ascaris lumbricoides, Trichuris trichiura and hookworm. Children in orphanages who do not have parents and sometimes lack attention make them vulnerable to helminthiasis. This study was conducted in several orphanages, namely “A” Orphanage, “B” Orphanage Jayapura Regency, and “C” Orphanage Jayapura City, Papua. This study lasted for 3 months from November 5, 2022 - February 5, 2023. The purpose of this study was to determine the results of helminthiasis examination in children in the three orphanages. The type of research used was laboratory testing, the population in this study was feces from children in 90 orphanages, where each orphanage was sampled as many as 30 samples. The samples taken were examined using the direct method of 2% eosin as much as 2 drops. The results obtained showed that 30 samples from “A” Orphanage, 3 samples were positive for Trichiuris trichiura and Acaris lumbricoides worm eggs. Samples from “B”, 2 samples were positive for Trichiuris trichiura and Acaris lumbricoides worm eggs. While samples from “C” Orphanage Jayapura City, 2 samples were positive for eggs of Trichiuris trichiura and Acaris lumbricoides.

Abstract

HIV infection is one of the major health problems that progressively affects the body's immune system. Long-term antiretroviral (ARV) treatment, although effective in suppressing viral progression, can cause side effects on vital organ functions such as the liver and kidneys. This study aims to determine the results of SGOT, SGPT, and creatinine level tests in HIV-positive patients who have undergone ARV treatment for ? 6 months at Hospital X Jayapura in 2025. This descriptive study used a laboratory experimental approach on blood serum samples from HIV-positive patients who had undergone ARV treatment for ? 6 months, collected using purposive sampling. The tests were performed using a Sysmex BX-4000 Chemistry Analyzer. The results of the SGOT, SGPT, and creatinine level tests showed that out of 30 HIV-positive patients (100%) who had been on ARV treatment for ? 6 months, 17 patients (56.67%) had normal SGOT levels, 4 patients (13.33%) had low levels, and 9 patients (30%) had high levels. SGPT levels were normal in 16 patients (53.33%), low in 9 patients (30%), and high in 5 patients (16.67%). Creatinine levels were normal in 23 patients (76.67%), low in 2 patients (16.66%), and high in 5 patients (16.67%). Keywords:          HIV-Positive Patients, ARV, SGOT, SGPT, Creatinine   Abstrak Infeksi HIV merupakan salah satu masalah kesehatan utama yang memengaruhi sistem imun tubuh secara progresif. Pengobatan antiretroviral (ARV) jangka panjang, meskipun efektif dalam menekan perkembangan virus, dapat menimbulkan efek samping terhadap fungsi organ vital seperti hati dan ginjal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hasil pemeriksaan kadar SGOT, SGPT, dan kreatinin pada pasien ODHIV yang telah menjalani pengobatan ARV selama ? 6 bulan di Rumah Sakit X Jayapura Tahun 2025. Jenis penelitian  ini menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan eksperimental laboratorium terhadap sampel serum darah pasien ODHIV yang telah pengobatan ARV ? 6 bulan yang diambil secara Purposive Sampling. Pemeriksaan dilakukan menggunakan alat Chemistry Analyzer Sysmex BX-4000. Hasil pemeriksaan kadar SGOT, SGPT dan Kreatinin menunjukkan bahwa dari 30 pasien (100%) ODHIV dengan pengobatan ARV ? 6 bulan yang diperiksa diperoleh hasil pemeriksaan kadar SGOT normal sebanyak 17 pasien (56,67%), rendah sebanyak 4 pasien (13,33%) dan tinggi sebanyak 9 pasien (30%). Kadar SGPT normal sebanyak 16 pasien (53,33%), rendah sebanyak 9 pasien (30%) dan tinggi sebanyak 5 pasien (16,67%). Kadar Kreatinin normal sebanyak 23 pasien (76,67%), hasil kadar rendah sebanyak 2 pasien (16,66%) dan tinggi sebanyak 5 pasien (16,67%). Kata Kunci:         ODHIV, ARV, SGOT, SGPT, Kreatinin

Abstract

Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) is a virus that attacks the human immune system. HIV attacks white blood cells, which function as the immune system responsible for fighting infection. Timung is disguised as a traditional massage parlor, but inside there are female sex workers (FSWs) who offer massage services accompanied by sexual services to customers. This study aims to determine the results of HIV testing among female workers in several Timung in the Heram district of Jayapura City. The study was conducted from May 10 to July 30, 2022. The type of research used in this study was descriptive, with a laboratory test approach. The research method used Rapid Immunochromatography and SD Bioline. The population in this study consisted of all female workers in several Timung in the Heram district of Jayapura City, and the sample in this study consisted of 32 venous blood samples. The results obtained from 32 Timung women showed that 30 were HIV-negative and 2 were HIV-positive. Special attention and collective awareness are needed to prevent the spread of HIV from becoming more widespread and threatening the younger generation
