Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of using PhET digital media on the mathematics learning outcomes of grade 3 students at SDN 1 Tlogotuwung. The basis of this study is the insufficient education achievement of learners, especially the physical learning outcomes, as well as the lack of optimal use of innovative and interactive learning media in the learning process. This research adopts a qualitative approach, specifically utilizing a Pre-Experimental Design framework. The specific design implemented in this study is the One Group Pretest-Posttest model, which involves measuring the same group of participants before and after the intervention. The population targeted in this study consists of all third-grade students enrolled at SDN 1 Tlogotuwung. From this population, the sample was drawn, comprising two sets of data pretest and posttest results each involving 25 students. To gather the required data, a multiple-choice test was employed as the main research instrument, serving to evaluate students' understanding and learning outcomes before and after the use of the intervention. The data analysis methods employed included the normality test also matched pairs t-test. The data indicated a notable difference in students’ educational attainment who used the PhET digital media and those who did not use it. This is proven by the results of the Double-Sided T-Test 0.000 which shows a significance value of less than 0.05. Thus, it may be inferred that utilizing PhET digital media yields a beneficial impact on improving students' mathematical learning outcomes. Abstract

Multiplication is one of the challenges that is quite difficult for elementary school students because it requires the ability to understand concepts and memorize. Students have been introduced to the concept of basic multiplication in grade III. But in practice, children still have trouble remembering simple multiplications. The purpose of this study is to find out whether the multiplication learning outcomes of third grade elementary school students are influenced by the Jarimatika approach. This study uses a quantitative approach with a Posttest-only control design  and a quasi-experimental design. Two groups participated in this study: the experimental group, which will apply the Jarimatika method to third-grade children at SDN Dawu 2, and the control group, which will not apply the Jarimatika method to third-grade students at SDN Wonokerto 1.  Multiple-choice posttest is the data collection method used in this study. Test instrument testing, prerequisite testing, and hypothesis testing are the data analysis methods used. The calculation of the Independent Sample t-Test yielded a significance value of 0.05, or 0.002, based on the data. Further, tcount ttable was also found, which was 3.465 2.048, indicating that H0 was rejected and H1 was accepted. Thus, it can be said that the learning outcomes of third-grade children are influenced by the Jarimatika technique.

Abstract

This study explores the impact of using the CASEL learning model with simulation methods on fifth graders' understanding of Pancasila Education, focusing on gotong royong a cultural value stressing cooperation and tolerance. This value is essential for developing students’ social-emotional and cognitive competencies. To ensure both groups started equally, a balance test using daily repeat scores was conducted before treatment. Learning outcomes were then measured with a posttest and compared using an independent t-test. Results showed that students using the CASEL model with simulations achieved better learning outcomes than those taught with traditional methods. Not only did their conceptual knowledge improve, but their social-emotional competencies also increased significantly when these elements were combined. Therefore, the CASEL learning model with simulation presents an effective alternative strategy to enhance the quality of Pancasila Education. It offers teachers a practical approach to design interactive and collaborative learning experiences. Additionally, this model supports schools in providing adequate facilities needed for effective simulations, helping create a dynamic learning environment that fosters both cognitive and social-emotional growth in students.
