Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out a link and match between the need of English knowledge for people working in insurance business and insurance companies and the materials provided for STMA students learning English for Insurance as a model of a Need Analysis in English language learning and teaching, besides as a base for the module or book intended to write for the subject: English for Insurance. The objectives are: 1) to find out the percentage of the use of English in insurance business and insurance companies, 2) to find out the needs for Listening Skill, 3) to find out the needs for Speaking Skill, 4) to find out the needs for Reading Skill, 5) to find out the needs for Writing Skill, and 6) to find out the needs for English components (Grammar/Structure, Vocabulary, Insurance Terms). The need analysis approach used are those introduced by Hutchinson and Holet. The research methods used are simple quantitative using percentage, and qualitative and comparative methods to analyze and make conclusions. The research technique used is a questionnaire with 31 items for 6 issues, disseminated using google form with a link. The respondents are 38 people working in insurance business and insurance companies taking at random. The results show that: 1) English is used relatively high (from 38 respondents, 9 respondents say 50%, another 9 respondents say 75%, and even 1 says 100 %), 2) Listening Skill is relatively needed in their work (from 38 respondents, 24/63.12%-33/81.53% support the statements), 3) Speaking Skill is relatively needed in their work (from 38 respondents, 28 73.64%-33 /81.53% supports the statements).

Abstract

This study aimed to examine Generation Z’s level of resilience in facing challenges in the workplace. Generation Z is known to have unique characteristics as digital natives, but they are also susceptible to stress, anxiety, and burnout. Resilience is an important aspect in supporting their productivity and psychological well-being. This study used a quantitative approach with a descriptive survey method. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics such as mean, median, mode, and standard deviation. The results showed that the average resilience score was above 3.5 for all indicators, with the majority of respondents showing a fairly good level of resilience. The mode and median were consistent at a score of 4 (agree), and the low standard deviation indicated a stable distribution of answers. These findings indicated that although Generation Z had good resilience potential, there was still room for strengthening, especially in the aspects of stress management and tolerance to discomfort.

Abstract

Objectives: to find out the percentage of reading interest of STMA TRISAKTI students, especially in terms of: 1) interest in reading text books and insurance documents in English (print and digital), 2) mastery of the contents of text books and documents - insurance documents in English (printed and digital), 3) mastery of reading methods: Speed Reading and SQ3R, mastery of Skimming and Scanning reading techniques in English (print and digital), 4) understanding of Structure Sentences, Style, Vocabulary, and Insurance Terminology in English (print and digital). Research methods: qualitative, comparative, and simple quantitative, data collection techniques: questionnaires. The results: 1) interest in reading text books by 26% (print) and by 36% (digital), while documents by 74% (print) and by 84% (digital), 2) mastery of the content of reading books text by 10% (print and digital), while documents by 40% (print and digital), 3) Mastery of Speed Reading method by 12%, SQ3R by 6%, Skimming by 16%, Scanning by 52%, 4) Understanding Sentence Structure of textbooks by 60% (print and digital), Sentence Structure of Documents by 42% (print and digital), Language Style of textbooks by 34% (print and digital), Language Style of documents by 42% (print and digital), Vocabulary by 52% (print and digital), Terminology by 44% (print and digital).

Abstract

Melalui penelitian ini, penulis ingin menganalisis ketepatan strategi underwriting yang sudah diterapkan oleh PT. Asuransi Bhakti Bhayangkara Cabang Jakarta 2 untuk meningkatkan perjanjian Kerjasama bisnis dengan perusahaan ekspedisi. Dalam penelitian ini, penulis menggunakan jenis penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan metode wawancara. Subjek penelitian ini berdasar dari dua sumber informan, yaitu Kepala Seksi Underwriting dan juga Kepala Seksi Marketing. Penulis membuat pertanyaan wawancara untuk mengetahui profil bisnis asuransi pengangkutan di PT. Asuransi Bhakti Bhayangkara Cabang Jakarta 2, dan juga untuk mengetahui apakah strategi yang sudah diterapkan sudah tepat. Hasil analisis penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa profil bisnis asuransi pengangkutan barang di PT. Asuransi Bhakti Bhayangkara Cabang Jakarta 2 memiliki lima komoditas utama, yaitu bahan peledak, pangan, pakaian, migas, dan bangunan. Strategi underwriting yang diterapkan untuk memenangkan perjanjian kerja sama bisnis dengan perusahaan ekspedisi sesuai dengan teori kualitas pelayanan Zeithaml, Parasuraman, dan Berry (dalam Hardiyansyah, 2011:11), lima dimensi penilaian kualitas pelayanan, yaitu Bukti fisik, Keandalan, Daya tanggap, Jaminan, dan Empati. Strategi kualitas pelayanan yang diterapkan ini memiliki tingkat keberhasilan dengan nilai yang baik. Rata-rata tingkat nilai keberhasilannya mencapai angka 69,37%, Jika dilihat dari indikator nilai keberhasilan dapat dikatakan bahwa startegi yang telah diterapkan perusahaan adalah berhasil.

Abstract

Tujuan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PkM) ini adalah memberikan pelatihan untuk guru-guru di Bimbel Lentera Inklusif (Bimbel LI) yang mengajar siswa disabilitas netra. Pelatihan yang diberikan berupa operasi hitung pada matematika dasar dalam bentuk pola-pola perkalian, penjumlahan dan pengurangan. Pelatihan dilaksanakan dalam jaringan melalui mimbar pertemuan zoom (zoom meeting platform). Sasaran yang ingin dicapai adalah para pengajar mampu meningkatkan kualitas belajar matematika untuk siswa disabilitas netra. Hasil yang diperoleh adalah pengajar disabilitas netra mampu memahami dengan baik materi yang disampaikan, dan mengusulkan untuk membuat draft pengajaran khusus untuk siswa berusia antara 5- 8 tahun

Abstract

Hampir semua lapisan masyarakat sudah dapat memiliki dan menggunakan smartphone. Hanya saja penggunaan nya belum di optimalkan untuk hal yang bersifat produktif, seperti untuk tujuan pembelajaran bahasa Inggris. Program sosialiasi ini bertujuan untuk mengajarkan penggunaan “aplikasi Duolingo” yang merupakan suatu aplikasi pemebelajaran bahasa Inggris untuk meningkatkan penguasaan kosa kata bahasa Inggris anak-anak usia sekolah dasar di Kampung Sumur Klender Jakarta Timur. Penggunaan aplikasi duolingo ini berhasil meningkatkan antusiasme belajar peserta dan diharapkan juga dapat mengundang minat mereka untuk menggunakan smartphone pada hal-hal yang dapat menunjang kegiatan belajar. Agar lebih banyak masyarakat yang tersadarkan dan tercerahkan tentang penggunaan smartphone untuk tujuan belajar khusus nya pelajaran bahasa Inggris sebaiknya kegiatan seperti ini dapat dilaksanakan secara rutin dan berkala.

Abstract

Usaha Mikro, Kecil, dan Menengah (UMKM) terletak di Desa Kedung Waringin RW.10, Kecamatan Bojong Gede, Kabupaten Bogor, Jawa Barat dengan Peserta sejumlah 15 orang. Produk UMKM yang masuk dalam tiga kategori produk yaitu barang, jasa, dan produk olahan. Mitra mengalami kendala dengan media untuk mengenalkan Produk UMKM dan menjual hasil produksi secara online. Tujuan dari kegiatan pelatihan ini adalah mitra memiliki pengetahuan baru dan keterampilan produk secara online melalui Gmail, Google Profile Bisnis dan Google Site. Kegiatan yang diberikan oleh tim peneliti adalah pembuatan Gmail, Google Profile Bisnis dan website dengan Google Site website. Metode pada pengabdian ini diawali dengan kegiatan perencanaan, pelaksanaan dan terakhir dilakukan observasi dan evaluasi. Pada perencanaan tim melakukan observasi, sedangkan pada saat pelakanaan tim melakukan kegiatan pelatihan dan diakhiri dengan melakukan evaluasi berupa posttest dan pengawasan penggunaan pengetahuan setelah dilakukan pelatihan. Hasil kegiatan pengabdian pelatihan yang diberikan menunjukkan bahwa para peserta telah mampu membuat membuat website dengan menggunakan Google site dimana evaluasi pelatihan bahwa rata-rata 4.76 menyatakan pelatihan ini Sangat Baik.

Abstract

This research aims to assess the risk awareness of culinary entrepreneurship students regarding the risks associated with operating a culinary business. In addition, this research also aims to test the feasibility scale of the 'Culinary Risk Register (CRR) 2022.' The CRR is a list of risks containing 13 aspects of risk in the culinary business, derived from four risk categories: Financial, Operational, Strategic, and Hazard. The research employed a quantitative method and the Guttman Scale. The Guttman Scale was used to test the Reproducibility Coefficient and the Stability Coefficient of the CRR. The respondents of this study were sophomore students at Sekolah Tinggi Manajemen Asuransi Trisakti enrolled in the Entrepreneurship course during the Odd Semester of the 2024/2025 academic year. The results show that the students have a high level of risk awareness regarding the culinary business concept at the basic and intermediate levels. Meanwhile, regarding the complex level, the understanding varies somewhat, and the level of risk awareness is lower than that of the basic and intermediate levels. As a measurement tool (binary questionnaire), CRR 2022 demonstrates a high feasibility scale, with a Reproducibility Coefficient test score of 97% and a Stability Feasibility test score of 94%. This means that CRR is a valid binary questionnaire instrument that can be used to measure the level of risk awareness in the culinary business. The key connection between the findings of this study and the results of the 2022 Culinary Business Risk Survey is that novice entrepreneurs generally lack an understanding of the importance of preparing business contingency capital, unlike experienced entrepreneurs (respondents of the 2022 Survey). This indicates that awareness of the necessity of contingency capital constitutes a complex-level risk, which can only be fully understood after acquiring advanced managerial knowledge and direct field experience.
