Abstract

Sunflowers are plants from the Asteraceae family which are popular as ornamental plants, as well as consumed in the form of microgreens. The problem with microgreen cultivation is that it requires light as a substitute for sunlight and is difficult to imbibition because it has a hard skin. The aims of this study were (1) to obtain the best light spectrum color on the growth and yield of sunflower microgreens, (2) to obtain the best soaking time for sunflower microgreen growth and yields, (3) to obtain the best interaction of light spectrum treatments and soaking time seed. The research method was arranged using a split plot experimental design in a randomized block design with 3 repetitions. The main plot are the light spectrum and the sub plots are the soaking time of the seeds. Variables observed: germination time, germination percentage, germination rate, microgreen height, sample weight per plot. The results showed that the white light spectrum produced the best germination percentage and germination rate, while the blue light spectrum produced the best microgreen height. Seed soaking time of 12 hours produced the best percentage of germination, germination rate, and weight per plot, while soaking time of 24 hours produced the best germination time and microgreen height. Blue light spectrum and 24 hours soaking time produced the best interaction on microgreen height, and weight per plot. White light spectrum and 12-hour soaking produced the best interaction on germination percentage.

Abstract

Dendrobium orchids have the potential to be developed because they have a variety of types, shapes and sizes. The choice of planting media and fertilization is an important factor in the success of orchid propagation, especially at the acclimatization stage. The aim of this research were determine the type of planting media and the best interval for giving foliar fertilizer and determine the best interactions and combinations of treatment of the type of planting media and the interval for giving foliar fertilizer on the growth of dendrobium orchid plantlets in the acclimatization and enlargement stages. This research used a factorial Randomized Block Design (RAK) with the first factor being the type of planting media and the second factor being the interval of foliar fertilizer application. The first factor includes M1: wood charcoal, M2: cocopeat, M3: wood charcoal + cocopeat 1:1, M4: wood charcoal + cocopeat 1:2, and M5: wood charcoal + cocopeat 1:3. The second factor includes P1: once every 4 days, P2: once every 8 days, P3: once every 12 days. The results of the research showed that the cocopeat planting media type provided the best percentage of acclimatization success for the Dendrobium Blue twist x Dendrobium Biggibum orchids. Providing foliar fertilizer at 8-day intervals provides the best increase in plantlet height and leaf width at the acclimatization and plantlet enlargement stages of Dendrobium Blue twist x Dendrobium bigibbum orchids. There was no interaction between the use of planting media type and the interval of foliar fertilizer application.

Abstract

Dendrobium Gradita 31 has superior characteristics that are in demand by the market in Indonesia, so seeds with sameness quality, the same characteristics as the parent and in large quantities are needed. Tissue culture is one solution to support the availability of seeds in large quantities and have a high level of sameness quality. The process of regulating the type of ZPT and concentration in the culture media does not always produce the same regeneration pathway. This research aims to determine the regeneration pathway and to obtain the best type and concentration of cytokinin to support its regeneration pathway. This study used a completely randomized design with 3 replications. The first factor is the type of cytokinin, BA and Tdz. The second factor is the concentration of Benzyladenine and Thidiazuron, 1, 2 and 3 mg/l.. The data was analyzed using analysis of variance, and mean value was tested using tukey test 5%. The results of this study indicate that the regeneration pathway in the formation of adventitious shoots was indirect embryogenesis. The use of Tdz 3 mg/l was able to produce the highest percentage of somatic embryo formation and the highest number of somatic embryos. The fastest shoot formation time, shoot formation percentage and the highest number of shoots per clump were found BA 2 mg/l.

Abstract

ABC mix biological hydroponic nutrition is an innovation by developing the AB Mix hydroponic nutrition formulation (based on 100% chemicals) in collaboration with Liquid Organic Biofertilizer/LOB from LOB Plant PT. Great Giant Pineapple (PT.GGP). This invention is created in order to solve the problem of industries that want to produce hydroponic nutrients based on liquid organic biological fertilizer to reduce the concentration of chemicals in hydroponic nutrients. The aim of this invention are (1) to develop hydroponic nutrient products consisting of chemical fertilizers and biological fertilizers so that the use of chemicals can be reduced, (2) to produce patents granted regarding hydroponic nutrition based on chemical fertilizers and biological fertilizers, and (3) to apply the results of the invention to society and industry that requires the invention. The ABC Mix biological hydroponic nutrition product already has a patent with number IDS000006120 and has been implemented at Miftahul Huda Islamic Boarding School 606 through community service activities.

Abstract

This research aims to get the best AB-mix nutritional formulation for growth and production curly red chili plants; to get the best concentration of foliar fertilizer for growth and production of curly red chili plants; to find out interactions between the use of AB-mix nutritional formulation and foliar fertilizer on growth and curly red chili plants. This research uses a split plot consists of 2 factors with 3 replications. The first factor is the AB mix (F) nutritional formulation with 4 levels treatments namely F1 (P 75, K 402, Ca 150, Mg 60, 90 ppm), F2 (P 105, K 432, Ca 180, Mg 90, S 120 ppm), F3 (P 135, K 462, Ca 210, Mg 120, S 150 ppm) and F4 (P 165, K 492, Ca 240, Mg 150, S 180 ppm). The second factor is foliar fertilizer (D) with 3 levels, namely 3, 5 and 7 g.l-¹. The best AB-mix formulation is found in F4 on all observation parameters. The best concentration foliar fertilizer is D3 on the number of main branches, fruit weight planting and number of fruit. There is AB-mix nutritional formulation and Provit maxi Foliar Fertilizer did not produce any significant interactionsreal in all observation parameters.
