Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of workload and work stress on employee turnover intention at PT Charoen Pokphand Jaya Farm 3 Pekanbaru, both partially and simultaneously. This research was motivated by the persistently high labour turnover (LTO) rate, which continued to rise and reached 39.3% in 2024, presumably triggered by excessive workload resulting from an imbalance between work volume and workforce size, as well as high levels of work stress indicated by a growing rate of employee absenteeism. The method employed was quantitative with a descriptive approach. The population as well as the sample of this study consisted of all 50 employees of PT Charoen Pokphand Jaya Farm 3 Pekanbaru, selected using a saturated sampling technique (census). Data were collected through a questionnaire using a Likert scale and analyzed using validity tests, reliability tests, classical assumption tests, multiple linear regression analysis, T-tests, F-tests, and the coefficient of determination (R²) with the aid of SPSS software. The findings indicate that workload and work stress, both partially and simultaneously, have a significant effect on employee turnover intention at PT Charoen Pokphand Jaya Farm 3 Pekanbaru. Therefore, proportional workload management and effective work stress control are strategic measures in reducing the level of turnover intention within the livestock industry environment.

Abstract

University students living away from home are required to manage their finances independently while facing various economic and social challenges. This study aims to examine the influence of financial literacy, family financial socialization, parental education, and parental income on the financial behavior of university students living away from home. A quantitative approach was employed using primary data collected through questionnaires. The sample consisted of 375 university students living away from home from the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences, selected using the accidental sampling technique. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression with the assistance of SPSS software. The results indicate that financial literacy, family financial socialization, parental education, and parental income have a positive and significant effect on financial behavior. The coefficient of determination (R²) of 67.5% shows that variations in financial behavior can be explained by these four variables, while the remaining 32.5% is influenced by other factors outside the research model. The findings suggest that the financial behavior of university students living away from home is influenced not only by financial knowledge but also by family financial socialization and parents’ socioeconomic background.
