Abstract

A characteristic of a woman entering adulthood is menstruation. Menstrual cycles disorder can be influenced by several factors such as age, body weight, physical activity, stress levels, genetics and nutrition. Physical activity levels and length of working hours that trigger stress can affect the menstrual cycle. The purpose of this research knowed the relationship between physical activity levels and length of working hours in menstrual cycle for female workers. This research design uses a cross sectional approach. The population is all female workers of childbearing age who work in Kenangan Village, Deli Serdang Regency. The total sample was 72 working female respondents of childbearing age who were taken using a purposive sampling technique. The results showed that the majority of physical activity level was moderate and has menstrual cycle disorders (36.11%), and length of working hours is more than 8 hours also has the most menstrual cycle disorders (40.27%). The chi-square test of physical activity level with menstrual cycle disorders was shown with p-value of 0,00059 (α < 0.05) and the length of working hours with the menstrual cycle disorder resulted in p-value of 0,00057 (α < 0.05). There is a relationship between physical activity levels and length of working hours in menstrual cycle for female workers.

Abstract

The best nourishment for newborns is breast milk., as it contains all the nutrients they need for healthy growth and development. If given water or other fluids, babies will quickly feel full and will no longer want to breastfeed. Because the images are similar to the subject, using audio-modified breastfeeding quartet cards can help explain problems in the pictures and motivate nursing moms to read and use the proper breastfeeding techniques for their infants.  It is hoped that education using audio-modified quartet cards will change behavior. The goal is to create audio-modified quartet cards and gamification to improve breastfeeding behavior. A control group and an intervention group were included in this study's quasi-experimental pre- and post-test design.  Eight treatments, including teaching materials utilizing a nursing quartet card game and audio-modification for four weeks, were given to a sample of thirty-two respondents who were placed in the intervention group. In the meantime, the control group just got prenatal education classes, questionnaires, and no further treatments. The analysis yielded a p-value of 0.000, indicating that the implementation of audio-modified breastfeeding quartet card gamification by the intervention group was more successful in improving breastfeeding behavior among mothers than the control group, which only received education through prenatal classes. There was a 2.1% increase in behavior in the control group and a 99% increase in the intervention group. Compared to the control group, which only received education through prenatal classes, the intervention group using audio-modified breastfeeding quartet card gamification was more successful in improving breastfeeding behavior in mothers, according to the analysis of unpaired data test with a p-value of 0.000. Abstract

Indonesian society widely utilizes traditional medicinal plants, including curry leaves (Murraya koenigii L.), which contain alkaloids, tannins, flavonoids, saponins, steroids, and triterpenoids known to possess antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. This study aims to formulate curry leaf ethanol extract ointments as wound healing agents and to determine the most effective concentration in accelerating incision wound recovery. Five treatments were prepared: ointment base (negative control), Betadine 10% (positive control), and curry leaf ethanol extract ointments at concentrations of 5%, 10%, and 15%. The ointments were assessed for physical properties and tested on male white rats. The results showed that all formulations met the organoleptic, stability, homogeneity, pH, adhesion, and spreadability requirements. Quantitative wound-healing analysis demonstrated that the 15% extract ointment produced the highest healing percentage, achieving 56.4% on day 5, 70.9% on day 8, and 100% by day 14, outperforming Betadine 10% (80% by day 14). One-way ANOVA revealed significant differences among treatment groups (p < 0.05), with the 15% formulation showing the most effective therapeutic response. These findings indicate that curry leaf ethanol extract ointment, particularly at a 15% concentration, has strong potential as a topical Wound Healing agent.

Abstract

Children under five may experience adverse consequences from inadequate nutritional intake. Short-term effects include impaired brain development, intelligence, physical growth, and body metabolism, whereas long-term effects include reduced cognitive ability and academic achievement, weakened immunity, increased susceptibility to illness, and a higher risk of diabetes, obesity, cardiovascular disease, and health instability in later life. This study aimed to examine the association between mothers' nutritional knowledge and the nutritional status of children under five at Sion Clinic. A descriptive research design was employed. The population comprised all mothers with children under five in the Sion Clinic service area, while the sample consisted of 20 mothers whose children attended immunization services. Participants were selected through accidental (convenience) sampling, and data were collected using a questionnaire. Chi-square analysis yielded a p-value of 0.028, which was below the 0.05 significance level, indicating a statistically significant association between mothers' nutritional knowledge and children's nutritional status. Among the 20 respondents, six mothers (30%) had good knowledge and children with good nutritional status; three (15%) had good knowledge and children with adequate nutritional status; two (10%) had moderate knowledge and children with good nutritional status; five (25%) had moderate knowledge and children with adequate nutritional status; one (5%) had moderate knowledge and a child with poor nutritional status; one (5%) had poor knowledge and a child with adequate nutritional status; and two (10%) had poor knowledge and children with poor nutritional status. The findings indicate that higher maternal nutritional knowledge tends to be associated with better nutritional status among children under five. Maternal knowledge plays an important role in caregiving practices and the provision of appropriate nutrition for children.
