Abstract

The digital transformation in the banking sector has driven a shift in operations, including the establishment of digital branches that rely on information technology to deliver services to customers. However, the increased use of technology brings significant information security risks, particularly those stemming from human factors. This study aims to evaluate the level of cybersecurity awareness among frontliners at Bank XYZ’s digital branch using the ISO/IEC 27002:2022 framework and to develop training recommendations based on NIST SP 800-50. The research was conducted using both quantitative and qualitative methods, involving questionnaires and observations of 36 frontliners. The evaluation results revealed that several controls, particularly Response to Information Security Incidents (ID 5.26), still showed low levels of understanding (60%), indicating the need for training intervention. Training recommendations were designed based on the Cybersecurity and Privacy Learning Program (CPLP) principles from NIST SP 800-50, which include visual approaches, role-based training, and digital learning media. The implementation of these recommendations for one of the controls showed a significant improvement in post-test scores (average >= 93), exceeding the 85% threshold. This indicates that the CPLP-based approach is effective in enhancing frontliners’ cybersecurity awareness. This research is expected to serve as a reference for other banks in developing adaptive information security training strategies aligned with international standards.

Abstract

Since the end of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2023, hybrid work or work from anywhere (WFA) methods have become increasingly popular. While this work culture offers flexibility, it also poses challenges for companies in monitoring employee attendance. This study proposes the implementation of the TOGAF Framework to design an attendance management system that supports a hybrid work culture. The design process begins with a preliminary phase to identify user needs and the limitations of traditional systems. The system is designed using TOGAF ADM (Architecture Development Method), covering phases such as Architecture Vision, Business Architecture, Information System Architecture, and Technology Architecture. Technologies such as IoT, GPS, facial recognition, and mobile applications are employed to ensure system flexibility and accuracy. Testing is conducted in two stages: Blackbox Testing to verify functionality against specifications, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to evaluate system usability in real-world conditions. The test results show that the system meets all specifications, improves operational efficiency by up to 40%, and ensures the security and accuracy of attendance data. The system is also designed for integration with other modules, such as payroll and HRIS, to support strategic decision-making. This approach provides an effective and adaptive solution for monitoring employee attendance, whether working remotely or in the office, and enhances productivity in modern work environments.

Abstract

Despite its growth and resilience over the last decades, the cruise industry faces significant challenges in its strategic, operational, and technology domains. The unique complexity of the industry requires cruise companies to adopt a structured approach to enterprise transformation. To address this problem, this aims to provide an Enterprise Architecture (EA) blueprint for the cruise industry. Using a case study of a leading cruise line, CruiseX, this study analyzes the operational model of the cruise line and apply two industry-leading standards: The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF) and the ArchiMate modelling language. This study applies the four core phases of TOGAF Architecture Development Method (ADM) from the initial phase of Architecture Vision (Phase A), through the definition of Business Architecture, Information System Architecture, and Technology Architecture (Phase B to D). The ArchiMate language is utilized to visualize the core business processes, information systems, and technology architecture. By using TOGAF ADM as the technical guidelines and ArchiMate as the modeling language, the result of this study is a blueprint of core business processes, application and data that support each business processes, and the underlying technology infrastructure, that provides a structured framework and serves as an actionable tool for implementing enterprise architecture in cruise industry. This research also extends the application of TOGAF and ArchiMate to the under-research cruise industry domain. The study’s limitations include the reliance on publicly available data, the limited scope of business processes, and the lacks of practitioner validation, suggesting clear directions for future research.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has led to a change in payment methods, with a shift towards cashless payments to avoid germs and viruses. Contactless payments, especially those using RFID technology, have become popular due to their convenience and no need to enter security codes. However, there is a risk of data manipulation in transaction records, leading to decreased trust and transparency. To solve this problem, this research develops an RFID contactless payment system connected with blockchain technology as the main goal of the research. Blockchain is known for its security and transparency, making it suitable for minimizing data manipulation that often occurs. This research will use the Sepolia Test Network of the Ethereum base network for development in terms of blockchain to serve as a security layer in this research. The Waterfall method will be used for application development, focusing on structured and linear stages such as requirements analysis, system design, implementation, testing, and maintenance. The application development process has shown positive results, with successful black box testing and the ability to track and validate transactions stored in the database and blockchain. This validation process is critical to ensure the integrity of transactions and detect any data manipulation.
