Abstract

This article discusses the misinterpretation of laduni knowledge in society, which often contradicts the teachings of the Qur’an, thereby potentially causing confusion, misguidance, and even polytheism. Using a qualitative method with a philosophical approach and library research to analyze the epistemological construction of esoteric knowledge from the perspective of three prominent Sufi figures: Al-Ghazali, Abdul Qadir Al-Jailani, and Najmuddin al-Kubro. The research findings indicate that all three figures agree that laduni knowledge is a divine gift granted to servants whose hearts and souls have been purified, not instant or magical knowledge. However, they have different methodological emphases. Al-Ghazali emphasizes three stages: seeking knowledge earnestly, riyadhah and muraqabah, and tafakkur. Al-Jailani focuses on three phases of self-purification: takhalli, tahalli, and tajalli. Meanwhile, Najmuddin al-Kubro divides the spiritual journey into three maqam: syariat, tarekat, and hakikat. This article concludes that deviations occur when laduni knowledge is separated from the proper epistemological framework and rigorous spiritual process. To prevent misuse, a comprehensive understanding based on the Qur’an and guidance from competent scholars is necessary. The key formula for attaining laduni knowledge is to cultivate love for Allah through devotion (khidmat) to the spiritual guide (mursyid) and seeking his approval.

Abstract

The prevalence of mental and psychological issues among Muslims is often attributed to their lack of remembrance of God. Riyadlah dhikr, as a spiritual practice aimed at remembering God, is considered a pivotal solution to this issue. Despite various forms of dhikr being practiced across the archipelago, the specific utilization of Qur'anic verses in Riyadhoh dhikr remains underexplored. This study investigates the impact of Riyadhoh dhikr practices using Qur'anic verses, referred to as "garapan," and explores their benefits for participants. Employing a Sufi perspective, the study utilized qualitative methods, including field assessments and interviews with members of Majelis Dzikir Darul Iman Purwakarta. The findings reveal that Riyadhoh dhikr serves not only as a means to purify the heart (qolbu) and draw closer to Allah through repentance and munajat, but also as a garapan practice within Majelis Dzikir Darul Iman, involving both physical and spiritual fasting, and secluded devotional sessions (uzlah) for dhikr in mosques or prayer rooms using Surah Al-Fatihah and Al-Ikhlas as spiritual conduits under the guidance of a mentor. These practices exemplify the integration of Qur'anic principles in Sufi traditions, offering an alternative for Muslim communities grappling with life's challenges. Darul Iman, renowned for its scholarly heritage in dhikr, is dedicated to disseminating Islamic teachings through Sufi practices, evident in its extensive network of branches throughout Indonesia.

Abstract

Purpose – This study aims to analyze the gap between the economic potential of traditional cuisine in the halal tourism ecosystem and the level of compliance of business actors with certification requirements, as stipulated in the Halal Product Guarantee Law. This study also examines the factors influencing the halal tourism ecosystem and halal guarantees among business actors in Laksa Tangerang. Methods – This study used a qualitative descriptive method with a normative juridical approach. The analysis was conducted by linking the culinary practices of Laksa Tangerang with SWOT analysis and halal product assurance regulations in Indonesia. Data were obtained through observations in the culinary tourism area in Laksa Tangerang, interviews with Laksa vendors, visitors, and the local community, and relevant literature. Findings – This study shows that the stagnation of halal culinary growth in Laksa Tangerang is caused by multidimensional structural constraints, including limited innovation, weak segmentation and promotion, and governance issues. The SWOT analysis identified several strategic strengths that position Laksa Tangerang as a potential hub for halal tourism development. From an Islamic law perspective, its integration into the halal tourism ecosystem requires formal halal certification as a Halal Product Guarantee, so that halal assurance is institutionalized in a credible manner. Therefore, strengthening halal literacy, expanding certification, and improving governance are prerequisites for transforming Laksa Tangerang into a competitive and sustainable halal culinary tourism destination. Research contribution/limitations – This study contributes to providing space for the actualization of sharia values in local economic practices and offers a contextual and applicable SWOT analysis framework. Originality/value – This research offers a new perspective on integrating traditional culinary heritage into the Islamic legal framework in a contextual manner, thereby offering a model for sustainable Halal tourism development.

Abstract

Studies on al-mutasyâbih al-lafzhî in Qur’anic scholarship have generally exhibited repetitive analytical patterns and limited engagement with underexplored classical works. This study aims to examine the method and systematic structure of taujîh al-mutasyâbih al-lafzhî in Milâk al-Ta’wîl by Ibn al-Zubair al-Ghornâthî, and to investigate the semantic implications derived through linguistic and munâsabah approaches. The research is motivated by long-standing scholarly debates concerning the meanings of repeated or lexically similar Qur’anic verses, ranging from views that generalize identical meanings to those asserting absolute semantic differences. Employing library research with a descriptive-analytical method, this study uses Milâk al-Ta’wîl as the primary source, supported by classical works of ‘ulûm al-Qur’ân and tafsir literature. The findings reveal that Milâk al-Ta’wîl represents a pioneering contribution to the discipline of taujîh al-mutasyâbihât al-lafzhiyyah, characterized by a thematic method, dialogical structure, and arrangement following the tartîb al-mushaf. The identified semantic implications not only offer interpretative variations but also function as mechanisms for integrating meanings among similar verses, demonstrating the precision of Qur’anic diction, and preventing perceptions of semantic contradiction. This study contributes an alternative analytical model for understanding al-mutasyâbih al-lafzhî in Qur’anic interpretation.
