Abstract

Geographically, Labuhan Tangga Hilir Village is located in the northernmost part of Riau Province, which is also the eastern coastal region of Sumatra Island. So that Labuhan Tangga Hilir Village has fisheries and marine resource potential. The potential for fisheries and marine resources consists of capture fisheries potential, cultivation and processing fisheries potential. The problem in the Labuhan Tangga Hilir Village area is that fishermen catch a lot and are abundant so they are not sold out, which causes the fish they catch to rot and have no economic value. The average catch of fishermen per month is 1.3 tons, with details of 500 kg being sold and 800 kg being wasted every month. The solution to this problem requires training in making sardines and the implementation of SIKOSA innovation technology tools based on the Internet of Things. The aim of the activity is to move the progress and welfare of the community to develop the natural resources they have, namely sea fish catches, increase income and manage good business. The activity methods used to solve partner problems are design, training, mentoring and implementation. The activity was held on Saturday 11 November at the Labuhan Tangga Hilir Pengalengan hall, Rokan Hilir Regency, Riau province. The activity was attended by approximately 20 participants. The results of the activity can increase knowledge of making sardine products and business opportunities for the people of Labuhan Tangga Hilir Village. The conclusion of this activity is that this training provides an increase in the community's knowledge about making sardines. So that it helps improve the economy of village communities, and has downstream products from fishing.

Abstract

The results of an initial survey conducted by the team found that the Darul Mukhlasin Palas Islamic Boarding School in Pekanbaru is for the continuation of the learning process and to meet their daily consumption needs without charging any fees. This Islamic boarding school has a large land of around ±0.5 ha which has the potential to be developed, through increasing food self-sufficiency. The strategy for realizing food self-sufficiency is the development of food diversification. This problem is needed to solve, including: providing partners with training in plant cultivation skills, processing unproductive land into productive land for crop cultivation. The method of implementation includes the provision of materials and the practice of cultivating agricultural crops, mentoring. For the sustainability of this program the PKM team will carry out: Monitoring and Evaluation of program implementation. The results of the training participants' questionnaire above show that the participants' knowledge about plant cultivation has increased, knowledge about the benefits of plant cultivation which may have been considered not so important for human life has increased their knowledge of the benefits of cultivating plants both economically and environmentally. The results of the questionnaire showed that in terms of the benefits of the activities carried out, it was shown that the results of the pre-test questionnaire showed that 100% of participants stated that the activities carried out were useful. In principle, in terms of supporting factors, related parties, both partners and participants, gave a very good response. Capacity building in the technical aspects of agriculture is one of the principles of economic empowerment, including students at Islamic boarding schools.Keywords: food security, boarding school, plant cultivation

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of pineapple ripeness level on yield and peeling time using a semi-mechanical peeler. The experimental method used pineapple samples from three levels of ripeness: green, greenish yellow, and yellow. The results showed that the use of a peeler increased peeling efficiency compared to the manual method, with shorter peeling time and better yield in green and greenish yellow pineapples. Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effect of varying yeast concentrations on the sensory quality of cassava tapai (Manihot esculenta) and black glutinous rice tapai (Oryza sativa var. glutinosa). The yeast concentrations used were 0.25%, 0.5%, 0.75%, 1%, and 1.5% based on the substrate weight. The parameters observed included taste, texture, aroma, and color, which were assessed organoleptically on the first and second days of fermentation. The results showed that yeast concentrations of 0.5% to 0.75% produced the best quality tapai in both cassava and black glutinous rice, characterized by a balanced sweet-sour taste, soft texture, and the distinctive aroma of tapai. At low yeast concentration (0.25%), fermentation was not optimal, while at higher concentrations (≥1%), over-fermentation occurred, marked by a bitter taste, excessively soft texture, and unpleasant odor. This study highlights the importance of using the appropriate yeast concentration in the tapai fermentation process to achieve optimal sensory quality.

Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the antioxidant activity and total phenolic content of methanolic extract and column chromatography fractions of Lantana camara L. leaves. Antioxidant activity was assessed using the DPPH (2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl) radical scavenging method, while total phenolic content was determined by the Folin–Ciocalteu assay. The methanolic extract exhibited strong antioxidant activity (IC₅₀ = 23.25 mg/L) and a total phenolic content of 2927.4 mg/L gallic acid equivalents (GAE). Fractionation yielded nine fractions (A–I), among which Fraction E demonstrated the highest antioxidant activity (IC₅₀ = 11.58 mg/L) and the greatest phenolic content (5200 mg/L GAE). A strong negative correlation (R² = 0.9485) was observed between phenolic content and IC₅₀ values, indicating that phenolic compounds are the major contributors to the antioxidant activity. These findings highlight L. camara leaves as a promising natural source of antioxidants and support their potential application in the development of functional foods and plant-based pharmaceutical formulations.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Produce and develop the kolang kaling jam industry, technical analysis and feasibility are needed to be applied in the midst of society. The results of this research, if it is made into a food industry, can it be profitable or not. The technical and feasibility analysis carried out for an industrial project is in the form of a financial feasibility analysis. Financial analysis is an analysis carried out to evaluate the flow of finance in a business being run. The results of financial calculations show that the Cost of Production (HPP) of Kolang-kaling jam is IDR 11,006 with a selling price of IDR 16,500 per bottle with a net weight of 120 gr. The Break Even Point (BEP) was achieved at a sales level of 4,334 bottles or a value of IDR 71,504,374. Business efficiency (R/C ratio) of 1.31. Net Present Value (NPV) of IDR 200,009,265. The Internal Rate of Return (IRR) is 843.48% and the Payback Period (PP) is 1.11 years. Based on the financial feasibility analysis carried out, it can be concluded that the production of kolang forth jam is feasible. Keywords : jam, kolang kaling, financial analysis, NVP, BEP

Abstract

Coffee is an agricultural commodity that is in great demand by the public. Coffee is a plant that belongs to the Rubiaceae family. The chemical composition is also influenced by the type of coffee, growing environment, and processing process. In Indonesia, robusta coffee (Coffea canephora) is widely cultivated. In this practicum, the parameters analyzed are organoleptic tests in the form of color, aroma, taste, clarity and after test using 3 types of brewing equipment, namely Shipon, French press and Moka-pot. The benefit of doing this practicum is that you can find out the organoleptic tests on the differences between brewing coffee A and coffee B using a siphon, French press and moka pot.
