Abstract

Sudirman Street in Bandung has become a unique phenomenon in the urban landscape of Indonesia. As a popular culinary district, it draws attention due to the presence of non-halal food amidst a predominantly Muslim population. This condition raises questions about how cultural tolerance, religious identity, and economic dynamics interact in public spaces. This study employs the social-identity theory and the concept of a gastronomic city, using direct observation and literature review methods to analyze the cultural negotiation processes that occur. Observation was conducted to understand the social dynamics of the area, while the literature review was used to strengthen the theoretical analysis. The findings reveal that tolerance in this area is pragmatic, managed through space segmentation between halal and non-halal dining areas, as well as social norms emphasizing respect for individual beliefs. Furthermore, this area functions as a representation of a gastronomic city, where cross-cultural experiences are presented through culinary exploration. This study contributes to academic discourse on the formation of tolerance spaces in urban contexts, particularly in areas with cultural and religious pluralism. Thus, Sudirman Street is not merely a culinary hub but also a social negotiation space that reflects the flexibility of identity and urban societal harmony

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of communication style and source credibility of human and Artificial Intelligence (AI) presenters on audience loyalty toward the Apa Kabar Indonesia program on tvOne. This research employed a quantitative approach with a positivist paradigm using a survey method. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 100 respondents who had watched both the human presenter, Kamaratih Kusuma, and the AI presenter, Nadira. The findings indicate that communication style and source credibility significantly affect audience loyalty both partially and simultaneously. Human presenters are perceived to have stronger emotional connections and more natural communication delivery, while AI presenters demonstrate greater consistency and efficiency in conveying information. The coefficient of determination shows that the communication style and credibility of the human presenter contribute 73.00% to audience loyalty, while AI Presenter contribute 79,4% to audience loyalty. The study concludes that although AI technology offers innovation in television broadcasting, human elements such as emotional engagement and communication style remain essential in maintaining audience loyalty. However, human presenter needs other factors to enhance their performance on audience loyalty. This research contributes to communication and broadcasting studies regarding the integration of AI technology in television news media.
