Abstract

Background: fatigue is the most disturbing sign and symptom felt by cancer patients. As a result of fatigue, clients become too tired to engage in daily activities so that it can affect the client's quality of life. It is necessary to know the factors that have the most significant relationship with fatigue in cancer clients and appropriate nursing interventions are needed to overcome it. Objective: this study was to determine the factors that have the most significant relationship with fatigue in cancer clients and to determine the effect of five-finger relaxation technique intervention on fatigue. Method: research with pre-test and post-test design with 32 respondents with purposive sampling. Data analysis using paired t-test, wilcoxon and spearman correlation. Results: the study showed that sleep quality had a significant relationship with fatigue (p value = 0.004), and the five-finger relaxation technique had an effect on improving sleep quality and decreasing fatigue in ca mammae clients (p = 0.000). Sleep quality and fatigue have a moderate relationship (r = 0.396) and a positive pattern. Conclusion: this study recommends the need to use the five-finger relaxation technique to overcome sleep quality disorders and fatigue as symptoms and signs that are often found in cancer clients.

Abstract

The occurrence of chronic diseases is a predominant challenge in global public health. Chronic diseases have a high incidence; according to the 2021 study conducted by the Global Burden of Disease, chronic diseases such as hypertension and diabetes are included in the top five death risks in the world and are responsible for approximately 20% of global deaths. SBAR communication technique is the prioritized indicator for effective communication quality in patient safety goal (IPSG 2). Patient safety highly depends on the medical team’s action in decreasing unwanted incidence, which can be prevented by increasing effective communication through socializing SBAR communication. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of implementing SBAR communication in interprofessional collaboration (IPC) between doctors and nurses on patient safety. The research used a quasi-experimental method with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The respondents were 35 nurses and 35 doctor specialists according to the inclusion criteria with purposive sampling. The research instruments were SBAR communication questionnaires, with a validity value of CVI=0.87 and a reliability value of Cronbach’s Alpha=0.62. Data was analyzed using the Wilcoxon Test. The results showed a significant difference in pre-post SBAR implementation scores between doctors and nurses (p=0.04; p<0.05). The research results showed that the Mean Rank was 18.00 for both doctor specialists and nurses, indicating that socializing SBAR communication could significantly change the mean rank value.

Abstract

The high rate of postpartum maternal mortality due to health complications is a serious problem that requires innovative solutions. This research aims to explore the role of mobile applications in increasing the knowledge of postpartum mothers and identify the characteristics of effective educational applications. The method used was a Scoping Review with a population of postpartum mothers, using primary research articles in Indonesian and English from 2015-2025 in the Google Scholar and PubMed databases. Results show that apps such as Aponjon, BIDANKU, and Breast Milk Mother significantly improve mothers' knowledge, practices, and self-efficacy through voice messages, texts, and content tailored to the postpartum stage. Characteristics of effective apps include regular communication, personalization of content, focus on maternal and neonatal care, and high interactivity. In conclusion, mobile applications are a potential educational medium to significantly increase the knowledge of postpartum mothers and must be part of the national maternal health strategy to reduce maternal mortality.
